In Camp Hill, Pa. an 18 year old man, Darin D’Marcus Thompson, broke into an old man’s house to steal liquor and beer, according to police, on Tuesday. The burglar was shot by the owner, Herbert Miller, who later found out that the intruder was his grandson.
According to the court affidavit the intruder broke in through the basement window of Herbert’s house, and in the process of going through the liquor cabinet he alerted the owner. Herbert was able to track the burglar to the darkened garage which is where he shot the intruder in the hand.
Darin Thompson left the house and went to a hospital to get treatment, but told authorities that he was shot during a drive-by. However, Thompson later confessed and is now being charged with trespassing, attempted theft, burglary and criminal mischief.
