The mortgage crisis has had a negative impact on everyone, not just homeowners. Elected officials are working hard to pass legislation that is designed to prevent future banking debacles. Unfortunately, history has proven that when legislators over-regulate banks that it tightens the reins on lending. This is done by raising the bar on what it takes to qualify for a mortgage or installment loan. P

Perspectives on Church Government: Five Views of Church Polity. By Chad Owen Brand and R. Stanton Norman. Nashville: B&H, 2004. 253 pages. Softcover, $19.99.Who cares about ecclesiology? Why should a church member concern himself with who runs the church? In Perspectives on Church Government, editors Chad Owen Brand and R. Stanton Norman seek to facilitate a discussion that will engage these questions by providing the reader with a defense of the “classic positions on the matter of governing the church” (23), which include the Congregational model, the Presbyterian model, and the Episcopal model. Brand and Norman include three broad variations of congregationalism with Daniel Akin defending the single elder position, James Leo Garrett, Jr. defending the congregation led position,

The Brazilian president has rejected criticism that his country's production of biofuels has forced a surge in global food prices and harms the environment. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva accused critics of being driven by economic and political interests, and failing to highlight soaring oil prices and increased demand as a factor in pushing up food production costs."Don't tell me, for the love of God, that food is expensive because of biodiesel," he told reporters."Food is expensive because the world wasn't prepared to see millions of Chinese, Indians, Africans, Brazilians and Latin Americans eat. We want to discuss this not with passion but rationality and not from the European point of view."Lula made his comments following a week of protests in Brazil and Europe against the fuels made from

In two previous posts (here and here), I showed that Continuity of Government (COG) plans were implemented on September 11th, and I argued that it is possible that they have never been suspended. Now, one of the top investigative journalists in the country, Larisa Alexandrovna (the lead journalist at Raw Story), says: "it seems to me that this administration has justified its crimes by NOT suspending the state of emergency that went up on September 11, 2001. They are using emergency powers if you look at the whole of the spying, military actions inside the US, etc. I would wager that if asked, this administration will admit that we have been in a state of emergency for their tenure in office."Remember that Continuity of Government plans -- that is, the measures that go

One of the best investments that a person can have in his life is education. You have to pay for that high college education so that you will be able to get higher paying job. Most students avail of these student loans available to them and that suits then. But many of the people hesitate to consider student loans because of the interest that these loans incur through time. A solution to this is student loan consolidation. Your federal student loan can be consolidated just like your personal student loans. You have to keep in mind though, that your federal student loans and your private student loans must not be consolidated into a single student loan debt. To have your loan consolidated, you have to make sure that you have $5,000 balance. A six month grace period is given after you finish

For a long while, I've been meaning to post about my conception of an ideal libertarian government based on my particular brand of libertarianism. The central issue with which I have been philosophically concerned has been the concept of centralization and competition between governments. This post by Angelica at The Art of the Possible gave me the opportunity to delve into this concept a bit, although by no means completely. The conclusion I have arrived at is that a system that decentralizes almost all powers over the private sector is far preferable than one that places those powers entirely into the hands of one central government. However, it is also my contention that a strong centralized government is an absolute necessity - but almost entirely as a safeguard of individual rights

How Fritzl was able to get a government grant for thousands of pounds to finance his diabolical dungeon and how his daughter and three of her children locked in a secret room in the cellar failed to raise anyone's suspicions. It's been reported that authorities are looking into whether Fritzl, the father of Elisabeth, the daughter he held captive, plus six other children with his wife, Rosemarie, was convicted of raping a woman back in the late sixties and served time in prison. Food prices in The Bahamas have already increased significantly over the last few months.
For instance, in Grand Bahama, in February the reported cost for items such as limes/lemons had gone up by 42.5 percent; for apples, 37 percent; butter, 27.6 percent and sweet peppers, 19.2 percent.

TOKYO - Toyota says it got no Japanese government money to develop the Prius gas-electric hybrid vehicle. Chrysler says it did — or at least got a lot of support.
Japanese government officials said Thursday that Toyota Motor Corp. received support only in government rebates for Prius buyers, but zero funding for developing the popular model.
The trans-Pacific controversy started with a March 24 Business Week report that quoted Jim Press, vice chairman and president of Chrysler LLC and a former board member at Toyota, as saying, “The Japanese government paid for 100 percent of the development of the battery and hybrid system that went into the Toyota Prius.”
Toyota denied the report - and the Japanese government backs Toyota’s account.

Without 1 piece of evidence and against all reason and moral justification, authorities in Texas are hard at work destroying the lives of the members of the Fundamental Church Of Latter Day Saints (FDLS). There was a supposed phone call that claimed a girl of 16 was being forced to have sex with an older man. The caller has not been found but the call came from Colorado although the group lives on a ranch in Texas. In other words - Texas acted without reason, cause, or justification as further court appeals will hopefully demonstrate. The FDLS practices polygamy which the Mormons gave up a while ago. Their leader, Warren Jeffs, was arrested a few months back for fraud and tax evasion.

In this post we will take a look at how the British government still rules this country, the good ole USA. I will also show some connections to the Jesuits as to how this came to be, and of course this will be the connection to the world government movement. I will only highlight certain aspects of this in this post, because the history is vast and deep and way more than I care to post here. I will post links to some sites where you can really get the in depth "true" history of the British Government's control of the US.

So many things come to mind when faced with the problems I am experiencing with WiredPages– and the headline news feeds. I feel there is a GSBitch [government female] that will not let go and there is nothing I can do about it.
I ran some tests. I tested on another host [...]

There is absolutely no reason why, if our executive branch of government has a government continuity plan for major disasters, that this information should not be shared with the key committees in the House of Representatives. Why would Bush and Co. deny access to such information to our elected representatives? The only answers [...]

A chemical used to make baby bottles and other shatterproof plastic containers could be linked to a range of hormonal problems, a preliminary government report has found. The report was greeted by some environmental groups as confirmation of their concerns, while chemical makers latched on to the report's preliminary nature and its authors' warning against drawing overly worrisome conclusions. The federal National Toxicology Program said Tuesday that experiments on rats found precancerous tumors, urinary tract problems and early puberty when the animals were fed or injected with low doses of the plastics chemical bisphenol A.While such animal studies only provide "limited evidence" of bisphenol's developmental risks, the group's draft report stresses the possible effects on humans "cannot be
One of the most popular articles I’ve ever written on this blog has been What is Mortgage Securitisation, and Why Does it Matter?
If you don’t have time to read it, here’s the 30-second summary:
Some lenders lend their own money to people who want mortgages
Other lenders do, but rather than being owed those loans themselves, or [...]
The concept of loophole government came to me while reading a recent New Yorker piece on the photographer/soldiers who took the infamous pictures at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.
The reason Sabrina Harman and the other photographers cite for both their abuse of Iraqi prisoners and their photographic obsession is as enlightening as it is chilling:
Although they did not know it at the time, the lack of experience and training in handling prisoners in wartime made the soldiers of the 372nd ideally suited to Abu Ghraib, where almost nothing was run according to military doctrine. Since May, 2003, America’s war in Iraq had been waged as a chapter in the war on terror, and the military’s long-standing rules for running prisons in wartime had largely been ignored. By midsummer, the great majorit
Drastic changes appear to be taking place in Noth Korea as its leader, Kim Jong II tackles three difficult issues: who will succeed him, how to deal with the new more conservative govvernment in South Korea, and how to normalize the nation’s strained relations with Japan. The reigning Korean Workers’ Party is making appointments and [...]
The chief executives of the major high st banks as well as senior investment bankers have been invited to Downing St today to meet Gordon Brown and discuss possible solutions to the current credit crisis. The banks will be asking the prime minister to free up the money markets to ease the liquidity crisis and stave off any further damage to the economy. This will be no mean feat. The talks are likely to be around reviving demand for the securitisation process and mortgage backed securities. There is also a real need to lower the inter-bank lending rate, which is the interest rate that banks lend at between themselves.Other more extreme measures such as the central bank buying up mortgage backed securities and then holding on to them when demand picks up again, will be discussed. The chancello
The Government Machine: A Revolutionary History of the Computer (History of Computing)# Author:Jon Agar # Format:PDF 4.8MB# Page Count: 564 pages# Publisher: The MIT Press (October 1, 2003)# Language: English# ISBN-10: 0262012022# ISBN-13: 978-0262012027In The Government Machine, Jon Agar traces the mechanization of government work in the United Kingdom from the nineteenth to the early twenty-first century. He argues that this transformation has been tied to the rise of "expert movements," groups whose authority has rested on their expertise. The deployment of machines was an attempt to gain control over state action -- a revolutionary move. Agar shows how mechanization followed the popular depiction of government as machine-like, with British civil servants cast as components of a general

The U.S. government has begun an unprecedented effort to give vaccine critics a say in shaping how the nation researches safety questions surrounding immunizations. The effort comes amid renewed controversy about vaccines and autism, and a theory that vaccinations might worsen a rare condition called mitochondrial dysfunction that in turn triggers certain forms of autism.
Federal health officials said the effort wasn't in response to that controversy, and encompasses many more questions than autism. They will look at issues ranging from rare side effects of the new shingles vaccine, to how to predict who might be at risk for encephalopathy sometimes triggered by other inoculations.
A working group has been charged with picking the most important safety questions for the Centers for Disease

So far as I know of him, he is somebody we need to listen to in terms of the newer deeper hidden technologies that are hard to discover even on the internet to learn of. Its interesting to note that Dr. Deagle says th
