The Gooner Gazette - Issue 2 out now (for Arsenal fans)
I’m pleased to announce that Issue 2 of ‘The Gooner Gazette’ is now available. For those of you who didn’t catch the first one, it’s probably worth me explaining what it’s all about. Basically, The Gooner Gazette is a monthly online magazine that reviews all the Arsenal action just passed in a light-hearted and entertaining manner. There are sections like ‘The Month in Photos’ as well as ‘The Month in Quotes’ and some other good stuff in there as well. The unique thing about the magazine is that it ties in heavily with the goings on at this blog and even features a couple of reader profiles of some of the regular contributors and commentors on the blog. The online magazine is available for free in PDF format via the Arsenal FC Blog which you can get to by clicking here or on the snazzy black banner to your right. To view the PDF you’ll need to have Adobe Reader on your computer which you can get here. As I said ear

Fans Comment: Arsene’s Achilles Arsenal By Naga Gooner
Arsenal have truly been in rampant form and continues to confound the critics with the way they have integrated themselves for the cause this season. It has been a joy and priviledge for me as an avid gunner to witness one of the most spectacular displays of football ever seen. This was a far cry for the last three seasons as Arsene rebuilt the squad and the gooners had to grit their teeth as Arsenal disappeared from any contention for honours. There is particular satisfaction in the knowledge that Arsene with brilliant managerial acumen has built a title challenging team spending a fraction of what the other top four clubs splashed on their squads, making bricks out of clay, and in the process saving the club from financial doldrums because of the stadium debt. Now that there can be no doubt about Arsenal’s status as a title contender, but can we truly win something this season to compensate for the patient wait for this squad to mature? I fully applaud Arsene seeking o

The Gooner Gazette - Issue 1 out now
Today is a big day for the Arsenal FC Blog. I’ve talked about it quite a bit in the past couple of weeks but finally, the first issue of the blog’s monthly review eMagazine is ready for release. You’ve probably figured it out already by now, but the name of the eMag is ‘The Gooner Gazette’ and you can view the first issue here or via the black banner to your right. I ran a competition for readers of the blog to name the eMag and I’m delighted to say that one of the oldest readers, ‘Darragh’, was the winner with his name ‘The Gooner Gazette’. They’ll be a free shirt compliments of Arseshirts coming your way very shortly. Many thanks to everyone else who sent through ideas for the eMag, I’m just sorry I couldn’t give you all a shirt. I don’t want to say much more about ‘The Gooner Gazette’ other than that I encourage you to check it out and let me know what you think. The first issue is fair

A good time to be a Gooner
With the club top of the Premiership both on and off the field, it’s definitely a great time to be an Arsenal supporter. Before I get into this with more detail, I firstly have to apologise for the lack of posts in the last few days. Whether you, the loyal reader, accept the reasons for me three-day hiatus is questionable, but I’ll run through them with you in point form regardless:  Saturday was the Grand Final for the football club I play for, University of Queensland. We lost 1-0 and I strained my hamstring again. If you don’t know why I say ‘again’, see here. Obviously I wasn’t very happy. That night myself the boys from my team hit the town pretty hard to get over the loss. Things got pretty loose.  Didn’t get to see much of the Arsenal game (it started at midnight Australian standard time). Only reached the required pub in time to see Emmanuel Adebayor slot his hat-trick goal. Hugged a random Arsenal supporter, the only one I could f

      Proud to be a Gooner
Just back from Cardiff as I stayed over in Reading on the way back to Colchester. Fortunately we didn’t get caught up in the horrendous traffic jams and thank the Lord we didn’t go by train – I really feel for the poor supporters who made the trip that way as most of them had a nightmare journey – both there and back, and were treated like animals as well it would appear. When is the public transport system in this country going to move into the 21st century? It really is outrageous. Anyway back to the match. I wont bother with any detailed report as no doubt everyone has read them all by now save to say it was an absolute belter – I can’t remember a match going quite by so fast ever before. I am not downhearted in any way today as we proved to the world what a fabulous footballing club we are. The kids did wonderfully well and never have I been so proud to sing the name of Arsenal. We gave the Russian billionaire mercenaries the complete run around
