What makes me free spirit, hmmm, how about when I wear offbeat soles that possess an unconventional style of their own. My shoe must is a fashionable factor, meaning it must have a multi function:Be eccentric, comfortably aesthetic, and tremendously charming. Believe it or not but yeah, I really do have a hectic schedule, I know one would never think so but it's true I do, amidst all of the shoe t
Looking around the web tonight I came across this. "Try Googling 'Fanny Mae top political contributions' - I dare you!".I have just done that. It certainly shows how money sloshes about the system. The internet is the only way to keep tabs on these guys!

So I was googling about and I came across this video - so I could not resist posting it here (although it really has nothing to do with me per se!). If you want to read the background to it then look here. If you listen to the audio it will give you the definition for Didactic too. I taught myself a lesson here too, because I found the site and spent a good deal of time getting the video cli
Google inc. always fascinated me. I totally love the simplicity of presenting a new complicated idea. so when you type google.com on your address bar.you ll see a simple front page of the google search. But the mechanism behind it is so strong and so complicated. This reminds me about a phrase which my friend madhur always used to say."simple things are quite complex to be simple".Even now,i am stil

One of the most important features of the Google search algorithm is how it uses links to rate content. In simplest terms, the more something is linked to for a particular type of content, the more weight the site carries in relation to that content. In other words, Google judges sites based [...]

The problem with a recession is that due to a lag in the data, you may not know you’re in one until it’s over. The most interesting aspect of the “R” word as it manifests itself in the form of Internet searches is that despite all of the [...]
I love Googling.
It's like the search engine that sends their spiders into your brain and can find exactly what you had hoped to find. These Google guys are mind-readers, I tell you.
Having said that, I've been entertained by the Google searches that have led people to Get A Room!. Of course, a part of me would like to think that people are searching specifically for this blog, but I
Google is toying with the idea of social search. Marissa Mayer, Google’s VP of search products and user experience first hinted about this in August 2007. This week they have gone and launched a Social Graph API to solidify the possibility that Google might consider social search seriously.
According to Mayer, social search is a search [...]

A recent study concludes that 47% of internet users have “Googled” themselves at one point in time to research themselves. A larger percentage of people have used Google to find information about other people. The group that did the study, called “The [...]

Google, which runs the Web's premier search site, has purchased Pyra Labs, a San Francisco company that created some of the earliest technology for writing weblogs, the increasingly popular personal and opinion journals. The buyout is a huge boost to an enormously diverse genre of online publishing that has begun to change the equations of online news and information. Weblogs are frequently updated, with items appearing in reverse chronological order (the most recent postings appear first). Typically they include links to other pages on the Internet, and the topics range from technology to politics to just about anything you can name. Many weblogs invite feedback through discussion postings, and weblogs often point to other weblogs in an ecosystem of news, opinions and ideas."I couldn't be more excited about this," said Evan Williams, founder of Pyra, a company that has had its share of struggles. He wouldn't discuss terms of the deal, which he said was signed on Thursday, when we s
First of, thanks to all of you for your well wishes. I have had a lot of other sources of stress this week (other than the ongoing pregnancy saga), and it's nice to come here for a little "uplifting" energy.I am stressed, anxious, happy, worried, elated, and nervous. And, with some time, I can think of about 100 more adjectives to describe what I am feeling. Outside of my blog readers, no one knows about all this commotion which is good and bad. With my past history of losses, I can't even imagine when I will feel okay to talk about it. I long for the days when I was pregnant with David (in the first trimester) when I had no fear, and miscarriage was a word I was not familiar with. I just toodled along, dreaming of baby names and color combinations for the nursery. Innocent and unaware.I guess Monday's u/s will tell the tale, really. What can they see in a six week u/s anyway? I figure best case scenario is they see the two spots they are looking for (sac and fetal pole), a

I just need to lament something here.
Back in 1999 I was sitting at the computer in my little house in Minneapolis and I mentioned in passing, to my husband that there was a website I really thought was great. I could find almost anything on the web with it. (Of course the web was like, way small back then too but nevermind).
I said; "Honey, it's a site called Google and it would be a
Control your identity on a search engine–or it could be a deal breaker for employers, client, or a love interest.
Ryan Barrett is now somebody in the Google universe, and she couldn’t be happier. Google her and you’ll see that she is at the top of pages of results along with others named Ryan Barrett, including a somewhat-notable boxer and a teen heartthrob actor. But it wasn’t always that way. She used to be a peon with ziki.com to consolidate her digital content and push her to the top of a search result page.

In the Internet age the ability to check people out before they ever meet up has forever changed the rules. For better or worse, "Googling" your date has become standard practice. The results can be enlightening, surprising and sometimes, a little disturbing. With a little creativity and Internet savvy, a person can find anything from blog postings to news stories that might include personal details. It helps to know some basic details upfront, such as an e-mail address that could help turn up an online nickname; some go as far as paying for an online background check. >>
Dating used to be largely a matter of spending time with a love interest, discovering the good, the bad and the ugly in person. If you were lucky, friends helped fill in some of the blanks. These days, the Internet and the ability to check people out before they ever meet up — [...]
Chi non ha mai cercato il proprio nome e cognome su Google? Nessuno, secondo me. Neanche Wentworth Miller, protagonista della serie Tv ‘Prison Break’, è esente da questo tick. Eccolo al lavoro in un internet point di Los Angeles, mentre consulta le pagine che lo riguardano.

Microsoft on the Trail of Google By DAVID POGUE"You can't copyright an idea." Despite its admirable if largely unsuccessful recent efforts to pioneer product categories -wireless watches, wireless screens and so on -Microsoft's greatest hits have been clones of other people's successful work, including Windows (based on the Macintosh), Pocket PC (PalmPilot) and Internet Explorer (Netscape Navigator).Microsoft identified the object of its latest obsession: Google, the No. 1 Internet search page. (Google, you may recall, is preparing for an initial stock offering with an estimated value of $25 billion. Nobody bats around numbers like that without attracting Microsoft's attention.)For years, Microsoft's own Web search page, MSN Search, has finished a distant third place in the search-engine popularity wars (behind Google and Yahoo). The company's new plan is apparently to remake MSN Search in Google's image. The Googlification of MSN will occur in two phases. The first, a cosmetic m
Regular readers of the Coffee Talk will remember we have a French student coming to stay with us the first part of April. We know little to nothing about them other than a 1 page questionaire they filled out in their own school/class and we have a copy of it their teacher emailed our French teacher. There were 4 students that needed a host home yet when we were approached and I said 'oui' so my oldest daughter looked at the four papers with little 1 inch photos at the top, and that is how we got "Samy" who will be our 'cousin from France' visiting in April. Leave it to my daughter to pick the teenage guy with long hair, skull t-shirt and interest in guitar and skating. Although he should fit right in, seeing as he is just 8 months older than my son, Coffeekid, and he will be happy to see four guitars hanging on the wall in the basement family room.Since the information page is in French I have to pick and choose what I can understand. Some was easy to 'get'; Date de nais
