In case you are interested in the New Google Social API and system, Robert Scoble has published a video from Youtube on it, while API data is fairly scarce at this point, more information will be coming out of Google as they work through how to get it out to folks.
In going through the Seattle tech startups list there are a lot of very good questions, and a lot of people looking for API information to see how they can make their startup work become part of the Google social process.
The best information that we could find on the open social API itself is right here and right from Google itself. It also has the video posted.
There is even a demo application, vote on your favorite Jimmy Hendrix song, (which screams seattle folks), Google States:
he ultimate goal is for any social website to be able to implement the APIs and host 3rd party social applications. There are many websites implementing OpenSocial, including Engage.com, Friendster, hi5, Hyves, imeem, LinkedIn, MySpace, Ni
It started on October 16th when I read a Boing-Boing post about Google Image Labeler. It warned me about how addictive it is but I mean really who would think that:You would want to help Google and add labels to their images. You could easily spend HOURS on the site. You have more fun mocking other players then playing.Well they are all true! You log in and Google finds a partner for you and they show you pictures one at a time. You and your partner only see the same picture nothing else. You need to match your labels with theirs. The more obscure the word is the more points you will get. I went into this thing laughing and walked away 5 hours later very serious and very solemn. I almost made the leader board! Wait - when did that become my goal of the day? What happened to my work?I do find myself mocking the other players as I have already typed in 7 valid labels and then started with Idiot, moron, do you sense a pattern... Now why does that entertain me? Well you see everything your p
TECH TALK: The Emerging Internet: From Advertising to Invertising Rajesh Jain's Weblog on Emerging Technologies Advertising has become the primary business model on the consumer Internet. Even though display advertising has been around since the early days of the Internet, it is search-linked and context-linked advertising that is now dominant. Whichever way we look at it, companies pay to be in front of users on the Internet. Whether we are surfing content sites or searching for things, advertisers use a mix of text and banner ads to attract our attention. The Internet has made advertising campaigns easy to roll out for a large number of businesses, all one needs is a "landing page" where users click to and a credit card to pay for anything starting at a few dollars. Advertisers are also able to track the "clickthroughs" thus enabling them to measure the response to their ads. In other words, the Internet has brought efficiency and metrics to advertising. There are existing customer

If you just have to know what is happening in the world of Blogger, then the blogger in draft system is for you. The blogger in draft system is a way to check out all the new things that Google is doing to blogger before they show up on the main blogger system. We took a tour, and not too bad, most of it is not alpha software, most of it is ready for prime time, and a lot of it is interesting.
Blogger Polls – one of the things about other blogging systems is that they will let you do polls, and blogger polls is available and is just a good clean fun way of getting some kind of response from readers. Information on the polling system can be found here.
Blogger Enclosures – if anyone has tried to load your own video or other remote YouTube like link into Blogger you know that it can be a hit or miss proposition. It will not work every time, nor will it render right in the screen at times. This leads to unhappy visitors, meaning they will not come back. Bring on Blogger enclosures.

Today, Boing-Boing posted several quite interesting articles about the new Google-maps feature which enables you to have street-level-views of certain areas on your map and the technology that is behind those images. Peter Shankman, CEO of The Geek Factory, also published some detailed information on the special designed 360° camera. It's worth a read - and you might also like to test out the new feature on your own.

Though the answer is in a book I wrote this July, the question is still asked of me repeatedly. Why does it work for some sites and not others? And how come some blogs get indexed in a day and then are dropped, and others stay in Google indefinitely?Well, let's take one question at a time. The answer to whether you can blog your way into Google search results is yes, sometimes in six weeks, often in 24 hours.Yes, you read right, in less than 24 hours. Under certain conditions, the search engines actually want you to succeed at this.I'm aware that these statements may cause some controversy, but that won't make them any less factual. Since September, Google has been set up to show you proof of this, which we'll go over in part two. My new blog has been spidered and indexed daily since it was created. Not only is this possible with your blog, the way that blogs are set up make them one of the most conducive web site mediums to attract more traffic from multiple sources quickly.
