Setup Custom 404 Page or Google will hijack it
Many of us webmasters don't take time or just don't think about setting up a custom 404 page but it seems that its much more important to setup your own custom 404 pages to avoid any missed affiliate sales, pages, or products or simply loosing your visitors to Google or someone else. It is also good Search engine Optimization practice to have your own custom 404 page.

Google will change this industry forever
Now that Google has officially announced that it will bid on the 700MHz spectrum, most of us are speculating about the possibilities. Google Will Bid in FCC Spectrum Auction
According to the following news release and the blog post "Official Google Blog: Who's going to win the spectrum auction? Consumers." Google is on the way to make it's strides on the air waves of open spectrum.Just as the weblog post says, consumers stand to win. The fact like ever so tightly closed entities like Verizon coming out with open networks for any device, just did not come about by chance or Verizon seeing the light. Verizon even tried to stop open spectrum all together by taking FCC to court over the issue. It is the pressure build up by all these open activities and somewhat to iPhone activity, made Verizon to make differences.I think this is a very good move by Google, and the up coming Android base Google Phones will be changing the mobile telecom world in USA. As I spend part of my time in Japan, I see the validity of a good wireless service. Some of my friends in Japan does not have land lines, because the wireless is so good, phone, internet, and other teleco

Google will start charging for extra storage!
Until now we all were using the Gmail gigs of storage without any hassle, but Microsoft’s recent release of the SkyDrive, which is an online storage, Google also announced its going to charge extra for more storage on two of its services, that is Google Mail(Gmail) and Picasa. The prices are starting at 20$ a year for extra 6Gb storage over the normal 2.8 gb for Gmail and 1 Gb for Picasa. Other plans which provide an extra 25Gb ranges for 75$ annually, and 100gb for 250$ and a whopping 250gb for 500$. In March, Yahoo! Inc had announced that it had given Yahoo Mail users unlimited storage, however they did flag users they felt were using the account solely for file storing purposes rather than Emails. Google on the other hand encourages people to store files and images, but when we exceed the limits, ofcourse we have to pay. Google will add a click-to-call feature to its ad program
I can already hear some of you saying, “Google did not invent anything launching a click-to-call feature on the internet. That’s true, Google is not innovating there BUT how many hotel’s official sites offer this type of feature for their users? Not a lot, although there are companies that already propose this type of (great) services. Basically it consists of placing a button on a webpage to allow the internet user to be called back for free immediately. The technology being involved is VoIP (Voice over IP). Let’s take a concrete example: Imagine you are confused with the cancellation policy of a hotel just before you validate your booking online. You will probably stop the process until you have a clearer idea of the policy (or maybe you will book somewhere else). Now imagine you find a button on this page saying that if you provide your phone number (that will remain private) you will get an immediate phone call from the hotel to support you for free.. Google Will Be Default Search Engine on Opera's Mobile Browsers
Opera (the browser company) Google will be the default search tool on all of Opera's mobile browsers including the new Opera Mini set for release next month. The TechWeb article: Google To Supply Search For Opera's Mobile Browsers, has more. From the article: [Opera CEO Christian] Jebsen said users of Opera Mini can still use the more established way of accessing a search engine, simply by calling up book-marked search engines. He noted that Opera is comfortable with Google as a partner because it has had a good working relationship with the search colossus for several years. I can't say this comes as a surprise. As Jebsen notes Google and Opera have worked together for several years. Until earlier this year when the Opera browser became available at no charge (sans ads), Google paid
