Google PageRank has finally been updated, and I'd like to congratulate myself for getting a PR4 on Andrew Owns Agloco. I'd also like to thank all my link partners who helped me achieve this. There are a few changes regarding link exchange. First of all: regrettably I had to cancel my mini review program due to lack of participation. Second, I'm still open for sidebar link exchange deals with Agloco related blogs only. The requirement stays the same - your blog must have a page rank of at least 3. This shouldn't be a problem, considering that most active blogs should have got a page rank assigned in the recent update. Naturally, this doesn't apply to already existing exchanges from older deals - your links will stay whatever your page rank or blog topic is. Finally, a short note about Agloco. There haven't been any updates ever since the Oct 12th post on the official blog, but I expect a news soon that should tell us whether payouts will be made of October or not.

October 2007 PR Update For the past few weeks there has been some buzz on the Webmaster Forums and SEO Blogs that big brother (Google) was gearing up for a new round of PR updates. The Internet is a buzz today with Google PageRank downgrades. speculation on the reasons for the downgrade range from an attack on blog link farms, the end of PageRank, removing AdSense ads, it’s all John Chow’s fault, etc. You can see a list of new PageRank for well known blogs at DailyBlogTips. The most popular reason given for the first batch of PR downgrade (I went from 6 to 5) was that those sites that got hit were selling links. However, that reasoning doesn’t seem to hold anymore because Problogger.net (from 6 to 4) and bunch of other blogs doesn’t sell links. I would say the most likely reason for this change is Google is messing around with link resellers like Text Link Ads. By downgrading a large chunk of the blogs on the Internet, Google has made that that much harder for the link resellers to sell links. My feeling on this is to not even worry about it too much. Obtener un pagerank alto requiere tanto esfuerzo como el requerido para ir escalando una montaña; a mayor altura, mayor esfuerzo. Obtener un PR 0 o 2 es bastante sencillo, no se necesita mucho. Para subir de PR 2 a 3 se requiere el doble de esfuerzo que se necesitó para llegar a PR2, de 3 a 4 otra vez el doble de esfuerzo, y así sucesivamente. Noten que la parte verde de la montaña (la base) incluye desde el PR0 hasta el PR7, y todo el resto es el PR8, 9 y 10. Mi blog ahora tiene PR4, por lo que requerirá el doble de esfuerzo que me costó llegar hasta acá para poder aspirar a un PR5, y ni me imagino todo lo que me costará llegar a un PR7 u 8 (si es que llego…).
