Google Checkout and PayPal are really two different programs. They do both have their disadvantages and their advantages in using either of the programs. In all the programs, they have some type of invoice system that is already set up. So, lets look at it in 4 sections. If integrated with Froogle, it would essentially become possible for Google to become a complete shopping portal, where customers search for a product they want, identify the cheapest available, then the chosen retailer, simply fulfils the order once paid via Google checkout – essentially completely removing the customer from the retailers website.. Retailers simply compete on price, driving traffic through adwords or Froogle and fulfilling orders are the cheapest possible price..Just a theory, but wouldn’t be too surprised it happened in the not too distant future.In the shorter term however, what does this mean for advertisers using Google to drive traffic? In a new development Google is featuring little Google Checkout icons on Google Adsense ads in what appears to be a test.
This is only happening to a limited number of websitesand I have never personally seen them. But the ads seem to appear in from of products that are featured on Google Checkout.
