Google Buys DoubleClick - Googlezilla Attacks!
It's official! Google has closed the deal and purchased online marketing agency DoubleClick, who also run affiliate network DoubleClick Performics. There are already graphics up on the DoubleClick and Performics homepages announcing the merger. According to Performics it's business as usual and the two companies will work independently for now. There's no word yet on how this merger will affect Google's amazingly successful AdWords or the ever growing Performics, both tools of the successful affiliate. It's easy to speculate that eventually both will be rolled into one mega-monster network offering PPC, CPA, and CPC opportunities for affiliates. Truth is that we just don't know. While that seems it would be the obvious long term goal, Google is known for innovation and could completel

      Google Buys Jaiku
Google has purchased Finnish startup Jaiku, maker of a mobile phone application where people can use to send short messages about where they are and what they're doing.  This is yet another move by Google's to offering more services via mobile phones. Last week Google purchased Zingku Inc., a mobile social networking start-up. This acquisition is yet another clue that is pushing to expand into mobile Internet services. According to Tony Hsieh, Product Manager of Google (per Blog), "Technology has made staying in touch with your friends and family both easier and harder: living a fast-paced, on-the-go lifestyle is easier (and a lot of fun), but it's more difficult to keep track of everyone when they're running around at warp speed. That's why we're excited to announce that we've acquired Jaiku, a company that's been hard at work developing useful and innovative applications for staying in touch with the people you care about most -- regardless o

      Google buys Jaiku
Interesting that Google would want to go into micro blogging, but also not surprising that they would purchase either Jaiku or Twitter. It is more surprising that they bought Jaiku rather than twitter. Jaiku does not have the buzz that twitter has, but it does have a large number of folks, and people who use the process. Jaiku is pretty cool in its own right but does not have the user ecosystem or massive number of applications that twitter has. That said, new user sign-ups have been limited for the time being. The idea here is to enable our team to get right to work with Google’s engineers on delivering a new, better service to you as quickly as we can instead of spending our efforts on optimizing the current back-end. Existing users will still be able to invite their friends, and those who are not yet on Jaiku can send us a request for an invitation to join. Google Buys Zingku - Mobile Social Networking Startup
Google Inc. has purchased Zingku Inc., a mobile social networking start-up. This is Google's latest move into the offering more services via mobile phones. Zingku, started in 2005 allows users to share photos, send invitations, conduct polls among friends via mobile phone and send "mobile flyers" to customers advertising products and services.  Zingku has been testing its service with a limited number of users in the U.S. New account sign-ups have been frozen because of Google's acquisition. Existing accounts will be transferred to Google unless they are cancelled by October 4, 2007. Zingku's service is free for end users and aimed at teenagers and people in their 20s. It uses standard text and picture messaging features on mobile phones, and a browser on the Web, so no special software has to be installed.

Google Buys FeedBurner For $100 Million
Just in case you didn’t know there have been rumors flying around that Google (Public, NASDAQ:GOOG) had plans to purchase FeedBurner, the RSS management company that many blog sites including this one use. I don’t pay attention to rumors because so many of them fly around these days including the one a couple weeks back about Microsoft (Public, NASDAQ:MSFT) acquiring Yahoo (Public, NASDAQ:YHOO). Apparently this one is the real deal, at least according to TechCrunch. In this article on their site they expound, “The information we have is that the deal is now under a binding term sheet and will close in 2-3 weeks, and there is nothing that can really derail it at this point.” These guys just don’t quit! Next thing you know they’ll just own the whole internet… perhaps the world. Who knows, maybe they’ll even go after Microsoft next… GoogleOS anyone?

Google Buys JotSpot, Offers Free Wiki Pages
With JotSpot purchase, Google enhances its Web-based collaboration offerings. In a bid to grow beyond its roots as a search engine, Google has acquired JotSpot, a developer of wiki technology for collaborative Web sites. Earlier this month, Google announced that it would offer online word processing and spreadsheet applications to its millions of Web searchers. The company also has a blogging service, but hasn’t yet introduced a tool for Web-based collaboration. Now Google has filled that gap by acquiring JotSpot , according to a Tuesday post on JotSpot’s blog by its cofounder and CEO, Joe Kraus. He did not disclose the terms of the deal, and Google did not answer requests for comment. Joining Google allows us “to plug into the resources that only a company of Google’s scale can offer,” like a huge audience, access to world-class data centers, and a team of incredibly smart people, Kraus said in his blog. Google Buys Adscape for $23 Million
After acquiring YouTube, it seems that Google won’t stop spreading its wings. Now, it is confirmed that Google has reached an agreement to acquire in-game ads firm; Adscape Media for $23 million! Well, the deal has not been closed yet but most certainly it will. It has been speculated that even if Adscape hasn’t have a firm position in the in-game advertising market, Google is willing to acquire the company for its interesting technology patents; AdverPlayâ„¢. For sure, with Google’s vast resource they could use this technology as a backbone to move on in its new venture in this in-game ad business. I wonder how Google ads would be displayed in video games. Would it be something like the famous text ads? Imagine playing FIFA 2007 with Google text ads along the side of the field? Google Buys another Company
According to SearchEngineLand and RedHerring Google has bought Adscape Media for $23 million WOW! that is crazy! I wish Google would start looking for little guys ideas to buy because I have plenty of them to offer. It seems as if Google is going a little wild theses days to buy up as much Internet properties that are doing good in order to create and advertising challenge to the smaller companies on the Internet. It's almost like the the whole large Wal Mart store syndrome where big companies come in and buy up the area of sales where it leaves the smaller companies trying to sell the same out in the cold.
