I have updated the post that I wrote a couple of months ago on the Google search tools that you can use on your blogs and thought it best to publish the details again. All of these searches can be customised to your own choice of subjects. I have created separate pages to show you examples of this coding in action: There you will find links to the Google wizard pages that will help you create these. Google Blog Bar Vertical and Horizontal lets you embed a dynamic Google Blog bar in your web pages.Google Book Bar Vertical and Horizontal - books are shown with their images based on the search criteria you chose.News Bar Vertical and Horizontal - Add a dynamic news bar to your page showing the kind of news you choose..Google Video Bar Vertical and Horizontal - displays a horizontal or vertical bar of images of the category you chose when setting up the coding via the wizard.GoogleSearch - embed a simple, dynamic search box and display search results in your own web pagesGoogle Map
I love Google AJAX search API. I mean you can totally customize, but they also have easy and quick little wizards that you can use if you are not really comfortable "doing it yourself". It's an easy way to include current content on your page. You can use news, blogs, videos. I don't really make much use of the videos one because I don't like online videos. That's just me. I have made use of Google AJAX search on my seocontest site too. And with regards to the customization, well there is really no limit to what you can do, and even as beginner, which I am, it's easy because they provide you with great online guides, blogs, and code examples. Some people are really good and they take use this to build full online applications (not just as a little widget like me). Maybe when I am done this seo contest by shopautodotca I will learn a bit more about it and start creating my own Google AJAX search API application. But AJAX search API is by no means the "coolest thing" offered by Googl
Google has recently introduced some clever search tools that you can use on your blogs. All of these searches can be customised to your own choice of subjects.I have shown an example of the blog search bar (horizontal) at the top of this page. It is much like the one that appears towards the top of the gmail window. In view of my aim to not slow this page down with too much coding - especially that on external sites, I have created separate pages to show you examples of this coding in action:Google Blog Bar (Vertical) - lets you embed a dynamic Google Blog bar in your web pages. ExampleGoogle Book Bar - books are shown with their images based on the search criteria you chose. ExampleGoogle Map Search - a small Google Map image is portrayed zoomed into the place of your choice. The map is navigable, with scrolling functions. ExampleGoogle Video Bar - displays a horizontal or vertical bar of images of the category you chose when setting up the coding via the wizard. ExampleGoogle Video
