While it's been in development for over two years and has been at an experimental state, it's been featured in popular YouTube videos as this is the technology on Linux that allows multiple keyboards and mice to be attached to a single system and MPX allows these input devices to function independently on the same windowing system. For those of you interested in this desktop technology, it's been announced that MPX will finally be merged into the mainline X.Org tree later this month.

Drinks giant Diageo ended months of speculation with an announcement today about beer production plans in Ireland. The $1.01 billion plan keeps part of the company's famous St James's Gate brewery in operation.Diageo plans to close about half of St James's Gate and shut down breweries in Kilkenny and Dundalk. The company will also build a new brewery at the edge of Dublin. Every Thursday, I come up to the area for dinner and then coffee at the Franklin Avenue Starbucks in Nutley. Two doors to the north of the Starbucks is this large green building, which seems to have some kind of bakery on the ground floor. They advertise themselves as the place with "The Best Stuffed Cupcakes" in the world.Today, when I went to Starbucks, I found the building in this condition — with all the windows out, an oil tank dug up and part of the roof torn off. I'm not sure precisely what happened. In one regard, it looks like a renovation. This is not new. In fact, news about it has been spreading since late February. For most of us that are somewhat involved in YouTube one way or another, we would probably not put the words "YouTube" and "high-resolution" within the same sentence. I mean, seriously, quality is definitely not what YouTube is all about. But all this is about to change? It turns out there is a little something that you can add on to the end of a YouTube URL to have it play a high-resolution version of the same video.
