Royal Caribbean International has decided that the Godmother for the Independence of the Seas should be from Great Britain, and opened a website to create a nationwide search for a British Godmother to reign over the cruise line’s newest and largest ship, Independence of the Seas, when she launches in Southampton, next month (April 2008). Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has narrowed down the search for the Norwegian Gem’s new Godmother to 5 lucky ladies, all of whom have sailed on NCL before. The contest, called Search for the Latitudes “It” Girl, will decide who the winner will be, and become the Godmother of its new ship, Norwegian Gem. Over 500 online video entries were submitted by Latitudes members (past NCL guests) showcasing why they should be named the ship’s Godmother and what makes them the “It” Girl.
Many of you have seen Episode 2 of 'I Love New York 2'. Last night's episode was crazy bananas. I haven't laughed that hard since I talked on the phone with IT. From the rejected-regifted Dolce & Gabbana jacket to discovering Tailor Made is married; 'Flowers from Fisburne' was a great episode. Are you “It”? What is “It”? It’s the new Godmother for the Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL) Gem, NCL’s newest ship to be christened in New York City on December 18, 2007. Invitations went out to all of NCL’s Latitudes members asking them to send in a video portraying their inner “It Girl” side, and tell NCL why they deserve to be the godmother of the newest cruise ship in the NCL fleet. Entries will be accepted from this week until November 12, 2007. A panel at NCL will determine the 5 finalists by November 15, 2007 and make an announcement. NCL is inviting the public to view the finalists video, and vote for their favorite. These votes will be used in determining the winner. The lucky grand prize winner will be in New York to christen the NCL Gem as part of an onboard ceremony by the cruise line.
