I know you all remember back in 2003 when Jay-Z's Black Album first came out. Not long after, an acapella version was released and DJ's began remixing it like theres no tomorrow. To this day, there are about 8 different versions of it including The Grey Album, The Brown Album, and The Double Black Album.About 2 weeks ago, an acapella version was released for Jay-Z's latest album, American Gangster, and DJ's are planning on giving it the "Black Album Treatment". Already, there are 3 different versions out, and there will soon be more.The official one however, is a remix album by DJ Skee entitled "The American Godfather". The gross negligence didn't cross my mind until today when Cincinnatti Citybeat reported that legendary bassist Bootsy Collins and his wife Patti had organized such a performance for this Saturday at the Madison Theater in Covington, Kentucky. The Godfather of Soul gave Bootsy his first break in the funk business and to hear Bootsy tell it, James Brown was his father, teacher and army general all rolled into one
