What an absolute delight to know I can just work on it for a bit, and leave everything where I left off and not have to put it all away. I would never in a million years work on a project in the RV unless I could dedicate the entire day to it, so it took some planning. Tuesday night a dear friend of mine went into labor and I was honored to attend the birth. This was her second baby, and her first homebirth.I arrived and the midwives greeted me. They were so nice, so wise, and so in their element. My friend was a birthing goddess. She did so incredibly well during the labor and birth. When I dived into blogging in a 'serious' way one year ago, I began subscribing to other blogs which tickled my funny bone. Every summer my partner and I experience what is known as "Rock Fever", and we want to escape Maui as if it were a prison camp. We plot--we scheme--we dream--we pray "Get Us Off Maui!" Summer is the worst time to be on Maui and the season when Maui looks so depressing. This summer the Mokulele Highway is being worked-on, and thus, this once enchanting two-lane roadway looks ever so dreary because of the messy roadwork. And of course, the traffic is terrible because of this slowing-down from the road-work. I often joke with my friends that I live in the middle of Sticksville Suburbia - about a 20 minute drive from my home and you encounter paddocks of sleepy-eyed sheep and horses grazing side by side, and there’s an entire strip of road with small-scale farms all side by side selling things from fresh bok choi to bags of apples for eating and juicing. About every second Saturday, I take a trip to these green pastures to stock up on juicing apples and carrots, but also to check out any other produce that may be available, sometimes grabbing bargains on bags of Chinese greens, cabbages, potatoes and other assorted produce. My Home Schooling 13 year old genius has developed an intense interest in Alchemy!!!!!  I am all for encouraging this sort of interest.   Alchemy has been practiced in Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, Persia, India, and China, in Classical Greece and Rome, in the Muslim civilization, and then in Europe up to the 19th century—in a complex network of schools and philosophical systems spanning at least 2500 years.  The discipline is of interest mainly to historians of science and philosophy, and for its mystic, esoteric, and artistic aspects (and apparently 13 year old boys too). It was also of the main precursors of modern sciences, and continues to be the mainstay of modern chemical and metallurgical industries. He is now learning ways to turn pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters funny colors (including a surprisingly realistic golden color) using heat and any make-shift acid he can fish out of my kitchen and he is begging us for a Chemistry set for Christmas and some type of heating

According to an article on Yahoo!, a ten-year-old living Goddess was removed as a "Goddess" following a visit to the gold old USA. (I am sure that being a Goddess was great while it lasted.) At first glance at the title I figured that it just took a week for us to corrupt the poor soul, but thankfully I was wrong. Apparently a Goddess needs some sort of permission to travel. It seems a bit ODD that a Goddess NEEDS permission, but I don't make the rules there, I just report them.
