Goals are an important part of our careers and even in our lives. Being able to achieve them gives you a sense of accomplishment unlike any other. Goal setting is a part of every successful training program around that I have ever come across and it will continue to be because of its effectiveness.
I hope that in one of the quotes below that you find something that will keep you pushing forward.
As always, the pictures are hyperlinked to other blogs that I write and I would great appreciate you checking them out. Thanks for all the support that you give me and have given me.

As some of you have noticed, I have added a few money goals represented in graphs on the right hand side of my blog. I did this after receiving a very nice email from Dollar Times telling me about all the great features they had. After exploring a bit, I came to the conclusion I really have no long term financial plan. Sure, I have a small immediate financial plan (become financially independen

This month I have decided on some goals:
Read at least a couple of the books on my current reading list:

The Time Travellers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

May is going to be a very interesting month. There are going to be a couple major opportunities to spend money, and I need to work hard on resisting. May is also a very busy month. I have a 5 day trip to London for a conference. I get back for one day and then have a 3 day workshop in Chicago (I'll be taking the train to and from each day). Then there is Memorial Day weekend, which I'm sure hubby will want to do something. Finally, I have reunion weekend that I'll be working at. Oh yea, and we'll be going to Cedar Point for one day. So, with all of these activities happening there are going to be extra temptations to spend money. More so than the boring, cold months we've endured so far this year. So here are my goals for the month of May:1. I have joined an online grocery challenge. Curr

Was this speaker stark raving mad? One hundred goals? He thought I could come up with 100 goals for my life? The speaker, Mark Victor Hansen, compiled the hugely successful Chicken Soup for the Soul series of books with Co-Author Jack Canfield. He challenged the assembled throng at the Women's Business Conference to brainstorm 100 life goals.Further, he encouraged us to work with a partner with whom we would swap lists. Together we would encourage each other to develop our list. We would hold each other accountable. We would help each other eventually reach these 100 life goals.Seeing that he was where he was, and I was where I was, I decided to take his advice! How many best sellers does Mark Victor Hansen have anyway? Exactly my point! He was a best selling writer, highly paid motivationa

San Lorenzo weren’t the only Argentine side in action on Wednesday night in the Copa Libertadores, just the only ones worth mentioning, since Arsenal de Sarandí were long since eliminated. In my recent blog post, The Importance of Restarting your Goals, I stated four goals I plan to restart.
How am I going to restart Goals 1 & 2?
1. Lose the final 10lbs that were part of my original weight-loss objective
2. Trying harder to eat a salad everyday
I’m going to tackle these two together. If I eat a salad everyday, I’ll lose weight. In addition, eating a salad a day is a reminder of my end goal, losing 10lbs
Salad is an important food for nutrition and to lose weight. It tastes great and it has a low amount of calories.
These are the salad ingredients I'm going to eat:
Cabbage, raw
½ cup shredded
11
Carrots, raw
¼ cup grated
11
Celery, raw
½ cup chopped
8
Cucumber, with peel, raw
½ cup slices
8
Lettuce, romaine, raw

Successful weight loss doesn't happen overnight, it takes months and not days. Putting unreasonable pressure on yourself to succeed is not a good idea. When you tell yourself, "I must lose 50 pounds by my sisters wedding" you're setting yourself for weight loss failure. Be sure your goals are realistic. There's no use in trying to reach a 50 lb per month. Resolve to lose slowly. Set short term goals.Healthy weight loss occurs slowly and steadily. Remember, Slow and steady wins the race. Losing weight more rapidly means losing muscle tissue and losing muscle tissue means slow metabolism.Start small. Set yourself a goal of losing 2 pounds weight in 1 week. Smaller goals are realistic and achievable. Reach for mini-milestones first and then work towards a big goal. Reward yourself each time yo

We're a quarter of the way through the year and I haven't updated you guys on how my goals are going. With the poor economy, it is even more important to have a plan for your finances and track every penny. The last time I posted about my financial goals was back at the end of December 2007. Things are moving along slowly but surely on the financial front. My main financial goals for 2008 are:Increase my Net Worth to at least $75,000. As of yesterday, I'm at around $70k. The stock market will have a big effect on this number. I am currently down about 5% in my 401k and down 11% in my brokerage account. I am sticking to a strict budget to manage my cashflow. If you want to start a budget but aren't sure where to start, consider taking advantage of the free trial at Mvelopes to get some idea
There is less than seven months to go before Election Day. A lot of work has to be done if I am going to be elected as the 44th President of the United States. The following are some goals I have set for the campaign for the month of April:

Have you ever joined a gym, started going for a few weeks, only to slowly find that you stopped going?
How many of us have had a great idea that we were going to pursue, got really excited about it, and told everybody about it? After you started it, how many times did your enthusiasm wane, and then you stopped your “new” project?
This is one of those tricky life issues, that when done right, can improve the quality of your life, and when easily discarded time after time, can lead you into a cycle of despair.
At one time or the other, this has happened to everyone, but that doesn’t mean it has to continue. Life is too short to start something and then not finish it, unless the price is too high and the cost/benefit ratio actually doesn’t make sense for you to continue it. But that
I can remember selling $1 million during a calendar year and thinking - "WOW! $1 Million." Then selling a single new customer $1 million in new sales and thinking - "WOW! $1 Million." When my youngest was born I sold a single food order for $1 million and thought "WOW! $1 Million." That order was so large the producer could not handle with their ordering system all the individual truckloads associated with the single purchase order. I continue to use million as a part of my goal thinking and one of my big promo's resulted in 2 million customers purchasing an item of my clients in a four week window. Your success will be enlarged with written goals. Once your market goal is in place begin working on the action steps to reach your destination. Review your progress on a daily basis and
Tuesday night saw Boca Juniors’ hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Copa Libertadores suffer a blow when they lost 3-1 in Mexico to Atlas. OK, so you do decided to have a relationship - that’s great. What’s the next thing? Here is one basic principle that most couples tend to omit, because they actually fear to talk about it. I’m talking about COMMON GOALS. What is that?
Well, when Mary goes out with John, she, most probably, pictures herself a [...]
