I found several pretty interesting video clips on the Internet today. South Korean scientist has cloned a cat that's able to glow under ultraviolet light. Wonder if the cat feels strange about it. Another it's cool to see a glowing cat, but i think it's pretty cruel to try modifying a cats DNA just to make it glow. Why would anyone wants a glowing cat?Another interesting clip is about genetically modifying a mouse DNA to make it aggressive to cats. What in the world is happening? Today I bought my first LED light bulb. I tried the bulb in the lamp hanging over the kitchen table. It created a cool ambiance. The white glass bell of the lamp looked like a chunk of glowing ice. A small portion of the table directly under the lamp was lit up but the rest of the room was dark and gloomy. It was sort of fun to sit there with my two boys in the darkness when they had something to eat before getting ready for bed. We tried reflecting the light with a mirror and it was quite fascinating to see how well the light could be transmitted to different parts of the room. A normal bulb gives off light that is evenly spread in the room whereas a LED emits straight beams. It would be interesting to see if the room could be lit up more evenly by reflecting the light with a set of mirrors. Next time I hope I can find an omni directional bulb.

The whole cemetery has been left without care, not to mention that hundreds of bodies are left in freezers unburied, leaving the city in a crisis. I was also escorted outside the cemetery for taking pictures without a permit. As with everywhere else in Montreal, photography is a crime. This was another photo taken using the method I talked about in my post Indoor Macro Photography Project for Rainy Days.  It’s the same miniature daffodil as some of my other photos, but I decided to go black and white with this one.  I also decided prior to editing that I wanted the photo to be a bit high-key and soft.  The image below shows each step in the editing process — click for a larger view. I started this one off by converting to black and white using the Photoshop CS3 Black & White adjustment layer.  I applied 220% red, 100% yellow, 85% green, 175% cyan, 50% blue, and 0% magenta.  This brightened up the petals quite a bit while brightening the trumpet even more.  Then I adjusted the levels by bringing the graypoint to 1.14, which lessened the contrast a bit.  After this, I applied four curves adjustments for both brightening and darkening, and I used masks to target certain areas and give the trumpet more contrasting tones to help create depth.  The
