Only one day left to the finish of the globalwarming awareness2007 contest! I rank somewhere around 37th place, what is not bad. So, this is very good opportunity to say thank you to all of you who helped me with the contest. I really learned a lot!
For those of you who know about globalwarming awareness2007 seo contest, would know that it has been a very challenging and time consuming process. The best I ever got with my website Globalwarming Awareness2007 was position 84 out of probably another 300 sites participating. Which I Think isnt too bad considering that I have been flat out with work for the last few months. I think I will definitely participate in the next globalwarming awareness2007 type of contest and apply the new strategies I learned. The main reason why I participated in this contest was to learn more advanced Search Engine Optimization techniques.
I think this contest has enlightened more people about Global Warming all together as the aim of search engine optimization is to rank higher in the search engine.

This globalwarming awareness2007 blog celebrates International Earth Day, April 22, 2006. It was first celebrated at the request of John McConnell, president of WE, Inc. (now Earth Society). It was then observed on March 21, 1970.
It was then held internationally on April 22, 1970. Quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_Day
is a name used for two different observances, both held annually during spring in the northern hemisphere. These are intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the Earth’s environment. The United Nations celebrates Earth Day each year on the vernal (March) equinox; while a global observance in many countries is held each year on April 22.
It is not the the event what we should focus but the aim or purpose of the said on saving Mother Earth for our future. Joining hands internationally brings a better success to everyone.

Climate is defined not simply as average temperature and precipitation but also by the type, frequency and intensity of weather events. Human-induced climate change and GlobalWarming Awareness2007 has the potential to alter the prevalence and severity of extremes such as heat waves, cold waves, storms, floods and droughts. Though predicting changes in these types of events under a changing climate is difficult, understanding vulnerabilities to such changes is a critical part of estimating future climate change impacts on GlobalWarming Awareness2007, human health, society and the environment.
National Parks, National Wildlife Refuges, and other protected areas harbor unique environments and wildlife not found elsewhere. This raises particular concerns about the GlobalWarming Awareness2007 and vulnerability of these ecosystems to a changing climate. Many parks and refuges are designated to protect rare natural features or particular species of plants and animals. Changes in climate could create GlobalWarmingAwareness2007, new stresses on natural communities, and, in the absence of adaptation, lead to the loss of valued resources.

This friday, the IPCC report was published. This is a very clear wrning for all governments - globalwarming is worse then we thought.
Even 30% of species on Earth can disappear if the average temperature raise about 2 degrees. Read more in Gazeta.
GlobalWarming Awareness2007: future climate change scenarios the globally averaged surface air temperature is projected by models to warm 1.4 to 5.8°C by 2100 relative to 1990, and globally averaged sea level is projected by models to rise 0.09 to 0.88 meters by 2100. These projections indicate that the GlobalWarming Awareness2007 would vary by region, and be accompanied by increases and decreases in precipitation. In addition, there would be changes in the variability of climate, and changes in the frequency and intensity of some extreme climate phenomena.
Although GlobalWarming Awareness2007 is an inherently global issue, the impacts will not be felt equally across our planet. Regional changes are likely to differ from global averages in both magnitude and rates of change. Further, not all ecosystems and human settlements are equally sensitive to changes in climate. Nations (and regions within nations) vary in their relative vulnerability to GlobalWarming Awareness2007, changes in temperature, precipitation and extreme weather events and their ability to cope with such changes.
Globalwarming Awareness2007 Team visit Cibodas Botanical Garden in Cianjur, West Java. We have a plan called “1000 Trees Program”. My friends and I will to plant 1000 trees around our environment. The first step is visiting Cibodas Botanical Garden. We learn what kind of trees there. It is the most fun globalwarming awareness2007 activity.

Cibodas Botanical Garden is established on April 11th, 1852 by Johannes Ellias Teijsmann. The original purpose is for botanical acclamation from outside of Indonesia that have important and high economic value like Kina tree (Cinchona calisaya) . The mission is to be the best botanical garden in the world especially in flora conservation, research, and serving in botanical aspect and environmental study. This garden has 10.792 collection of plants, 700 different collection of seeds, 4.852 collection of herbarium and herbal plants. These facts impress Globalwarming Awareness2007 Team.

Some renewable sources of energy could be affected by climate change, although these changes are very difficult to predict. If climate change leads to increased GlobalWarming Awareness2007 and cloudiness, solar energy production could be reduced. Wind energy production would be reduced if wind speeds increase above or fall below the acceptable operating range of the technology. Changes in growing conditions could affect GlobalWarming Awareness2007, biomass production, a transportation and power plant fuel source that is starting to receive more attention
All scientists are more and more pesymistic on globalwarming effects. Coral reefs only on postcards and polar bears in zoo? Yes, this awareness2007 is possible.
Almost half of our globe can be touched by the climate changes, major changes occur around polar and tropic zones. Scientists from IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) predict that our planet during next 100 years will get warmer (1.1C - 6.4C) and average sea level will rise 18cm higher then now. The whole raport will be published on April, 6th.
Climate change effects on GlobalWarming Awareness2007, so energy supply and demand will depend not only on climatic factors, but also on patterns of economic growth, land use, population growth and distribution, technological change and social and cultural trends that shape individual and institutional actions.
I looked on Google Images for a term globalwarming awareness2007 for an image. When I did my search I found that there was nothing there. So I made one. I hope that my globalwarming image will end up there before the end of the contest.

Global Warming Health
I was looking on the internet for global warming effects on our health and the best article that I found for my blog globalwarming awareness2007 is the following:
“Throughout the world, the prevalence of particular diseases and other threats to human health depend largely on local climate. Extreme temperatures can directly cause the loss of life. Moreover, several serious diseases only appear in warm areas. Finally, warm temperatures can increase air and water pollution, which in turn harm human health.
The most direct effect of climate change would be the impacts of hotter temperatures themselves. Extremely hot temperatures increase the number of people who die on a given day for many reasons: People with heart problems are vulnerable because one’s cardiovascular system must work harder to keep the body cool during hot weather. Heat exhaustion and some respiratory problems increase.
Higher air temperatures also increase the concentration of ozone at gro
Sea Level Rise Could Accelerate !
This alarming news was announced by a leading oceanographer from Hobart, Australia. Data from different satellites shows that sea-level rises and polar ice-melting are woerse than thought. Combination of globalwarming, polar ice-melting and long natural cycles of sea level change causes that sea levels, rising at 1 millimetre a year before the industrial revolution, are now rising by 3 millimetres a year.
“All indications are that it’s going to get faster,”
said Eric Lindstrom, head of oceanography at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) during awareness2007 global oceans conference in Hobart. Rapid advances in science in the past five years on polar ice-sheet dynamics had yet to filter through into scientific models. He also pointed to huge splits in Antarctic ice shelves in 2002, then seen as once-in-100-year events that created icebergs bigger than some small countries.

The future effects of GlobalWarming Awareness2007 on water resources in all parts of the world will depend on trends in both climatic and non-climatic factors. Evaluating these impacts is challenging because water availability, quality and streamflow are sensitive to changes in temperature and precipitation. Other important factors include increased GlobalWarming Awareness2007, demand for water caused by population growth, changes in the economy, development of new technologies, changes in watershed characteristics and water management decisions.
Some degree of future climate change will occur regardless of GlobalWarming Awareness2007 and future greenhouse gas emissions. Adapting to or coping with climate change may therefore become necessary in certain regions and for certain socioeconomic and environmental systems. Everything is up to GlobalWarming Awareness2007.
Rising sea level increases the GlobalWarming Awareness2007, also increases salinity of both surface water and ground water through salt water intrusion. New York City, Philadelphia, and much of California’s Central Valley obtain some of their water from portions of rivers that are slightly upstream from the point where water is salty during GlobalWarming Awareness2007 and droughts. If sea level rise pushes salty water upstream, then the existing water intakes might draw on salty water during dry periods. Salinity increases in estuaries also can harm aquatic plants and animals that do not tolerate high salinity.
According to the newest research Asian pollution is increasing risk of Pacific storms. All northern hemisphere may be influenced by these changes. Satellite measurements have shown an increase in tiny particles generated from coal burning in China and India in recent decades. The Pacific storms pattern plays a very important role in global atmospheric circulation, and altering this weather pattern could have a significant impact on the globalwarming awareness2007.
Kioto protocol was signed in 1997. Signatories commit to carry out 5% reduction of the gases (comparing to year 1990). Postcommunist countries (like Poland) had no problems with reaching the target, their economy before 1989 was based on heavy industry, what was changed in the nineties.
What is very interesting the protocol wasn’t ratified by some of the biggest and richest countries (for example USA). Major countries which did reduce emission (1990-2004) are: Great Britain (17%) and Germany (14%).
In the same time greenhouse gases emission in USA increased by almost 16%, in Spain emission reached 150% !!
These reasons are more then enough to think more about our GlobalWarming Awareness2007.

Algae as inspiration for a global warming cure
Will we have to wait until the icecaps melt, sea levels rise and countries are turned into deserts before we act to control global temperatures?.
Some scientists say that in eras of high global temperature average, when enough land turns to deserts, the soil may blow into the sea in large amounts. Similarly when sealevels rise due to melting ice caps, rich coastal soils become continental shelves. Apparently, the iron and other nutrients in the dust and soil can act as nutrients for marine microalgae, which may flourish and absorb carbon dioxide. This may begin to alleviate global warming, because carbon dioxide is one of the key greenhouse molecules.

Some of the most economically important vulnerable areas are recreational resorts on the coastal barriers of the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. In many cases, according to GlobalWarming Awareness2007, the ocean-front block of these islands is 5 to 10 feet above high tide; but the bay sides are often less than two feet above high water and regularly flooded (see USGS’s 7.5-minute map series). Erosion threatens the high ocean sides of these densely developed islands and is generally viewed as a more immediate problem than inundation of their low bay sides. Many ocean shores are currently eroding 1 to 4 feet per year. (FEMA, 2000)
As the sea rises, the outer boundary of these wetlands will erode, and new wetlands will form inland as previously dry areas are flooded by the higher water levels. The amount of newly created wetlands, however, could be much smaller than the lost area of wetlands - especially in developed areas protected with bulkheads, dikes, and other structures that keep new wetlands from forming inland. The GlobalWarming Awareness2007 suggests that during the next century, sea level rise could convert as much as 22% of the world’s coastal wetlands to open water. (IPCC, 2001). Tidal wetlands are generally found between sea level and the highest tide over the monthly lunar cycle. As a result, areas with small tide ranges are the most vulnerable. The GlobalWarming Awareness2007: two foot rise in sea level could eliminate 17-43 percent of U.S. wetlands, with more than half the loss taking place in Louisiana.
Rising sea level inundates wetlands and other low-lying lands, erodes beaches, intensifies flooding, and increases the GlobalWarming Awareness2007, salinity of rivers, bays, and groundwater tables. Some of these effects may be further compounded by other effects of changing climate. Additionally, measures that people take to protect private property from rising sea level may have adverse effects on the environment and on public uses of beaches and waterways. Some property owners and state and local governments are already starting to fear GlobalWarming Awareness2007 and take measures to prepare for the consequences of rising sea level.
Another aspect of GlobalWarming Awareness2007. Higher temperatures are expected to further raise sea level by expanding ocean water, melting mountain glaciers and small ice caps, and causing portions of Greenland and the Antarctic ice sheets to melt. The IPCC estimates that the global average sea level will rise between 0.3 and 2.9 feet (0.09 to 0.88 meters) in the next century (IPCC, 2001 ).

Overall, biodiversity is forecast to decrease in the future as a result of a multitude of pressures, particularly increased land-use intensity, GlobalWarming awareness2007 and associated destruction of natural or semi-natural habitats. The most significant processes are habitat loss and fragmentation (or reconnection, in the case of freshwater bodies); introduction of exotic species (invasives); and direct effects on reproduction, dominance, and survival through chemical and mechanical treatments. In a few cases, there might be an increase in local biodiversity, but this usually is a result of species introductions, and the longer term consequences of these changes are hard to foresee. These pressures on biodiversity are occurring independent of climate change, so the critical question is: How much might GlobalWarming Awareness2007 enhance or inhibit these losses in biodiversity? There is little evidence to suggest that processes associated with climate change will slow species losses.
GlobalWarming Awareness2007 can cause adverse or beneficial effects on species. For example, climate change could benefit certain plant or insect species by increasing their ranges. The resulting impacts, however, could be positive or negative depending on whether these species were invasive (e.g., weeds or mosquitoes) or if they were valuable to humans (e.g., food crops or pollinating insects).
In various regions across the world, some high-altitude and high-latitude ecosystems have already been affected by changes in climate. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, 2001) appraised relevant published studies of GlobalWarming Awareness2007. Of a total of 59 plants, 47 invertebrates, 29 amphibians and reptiles, 388 birds, and 10 mammal species, approximately 80 percent showed changes in the biological parameters measured (e.g., start and end of breeding season, shifts in migration patterns, shifts in animal and plant distributions to higher elevations and towards the poles, and changes in body size and population numbers) consistent with GlobalWarming Awareness2007 predictions, while 20 percent showed changes in the opposite direction.
Climate is an integral part of ecosystems and organisms have adapted to their regional climate over time. GlobalWarming Awareness2007 and climate change is a factor that has the potential to alter ecosystems and the many resources and services they provide to each other and to society. Human societies depend on ecosystems for the natural, cultural, spiritual, recreational and aesthetic resources they provide.
Wow! I am impressed by myself :). Finally, I got to the top 100. I am a complete rookie in this kind of contests (to be honest, in professional SEO too). Latest surveys results are not very optimistic. Poland and the rest of the European Union has completely different Energetic priorities. It is even worse than it sounds. Poles are not interested in globalwarming awareness2007!
Only 32% of Polish citizens do care about climate changes (comparing to 50% in EU) and almost 27% doesn’t realize that globalwarming is a treat (12% in EU). It is not much better when talking about using and developing modern energy-saving technologies - only 52% of people in Poland think about it, when this number in the rest of EU is approximately 20% higher…

Free-Air CO2 Enrichment (FACE ) experiments suggest that tree growth rates may increase with increasing levels of GlobalWarming Awareness2007 and atmospheric CO2, but these effects are expected to saturate over time as tree communities adjust to increased CO2 levels.
GlobalWarming Awareness2007 and climate change effect that influence tree growth will also alter rates of carbon storage (or sequestration) in trees and soils. Increased carbon sequestration would remove more CO2 from the atmosphere (a negative feedback that lessens climate change), whereas carbon losses through forest disturbances would result in more CO2 entering the atmosphere (a positive feedback that strengthens climate change).
In general, forests are sensitive to GlobalWarming Awareness2007, climatic variability and change. Climatic factors that influence forest health-temperature, rainfall, atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases and extreme weather and fire events—are changing and are expected to continue changing due to GlobalWarming Awareness2007.
The following climate factors are likely to play an important role in determining future forest conditions:
Air temperature
Precipitation amount and seasonal distribution
Atmospheric CO2 concentrations
Frequency and severity of wildfire events
Climatic variability and the frequency and severity of extreme events
Indirect effects on pollution levels such as tropospheric ozone
The effects of GlobalWarming Awareness2007 on forests in the U.S. and other parts of the world will depend not only on climatic factors but also on stresses from pollution (e.g., acid rain); future trends in forest management practices, including fire control and demand for timber; and land-use change. It is difficult to separate the influence of GlobalWarming Awareness2007 from these other pressures.

Abrupt climate changes occur when a threshold in the climate system is crossed – a trigger that causes the climate to rapidly shift from one state to a new, different one. These triggers can be forces that are “external” or “internal” to the climate system. Examples of these triggers include:changes in the Earth’s orbit, a brightening or dimming of the sun, melting or surging ice sheets
strengthening or weakening of ocean currents, emissions of climate-altering gases and incerease of GlobalWarming Awareness2007.
More than one of these triggers can operate simultaneously, since all components of the climate system are linked.
Scientific data shows that abrupt changes in the climate have occurred throughout history and are characteristic of the Earth’s climate system. The changes are of concern because of GlobalWarming Awareness2007: if triggered, they could occur so quickly and unexpectedly that human or natural systems would have difficulty adapting to them.

All climate-sensitive systems of society and the natural environment, including agriculture, forestry, water resources, human health, coastal settlements, and natural ecosystems, will need to adapt to rising GlobalWarming Awareness2007 and a changing climate or possibly face diminished productivity, functioning and health.
An example of an adaptation strategy to prevent damage from GlobalWarming Awareness2007 and climate change is shore protection (e.g., dikes, bulkheads, beach nourishment), which can prevent sea level rise from inundating low-lying coastal property, eroding beaches, or exacerbating flooding. If the costs or environmental impacts of shore protection are high compared with the property being protected, an alternative adaptation strategy would be a planned retreat, in which structures are relocated inland as shores retreat.

Globalwarming Awareness2007 News: Valentine Day History
There are varying opinions as to the origin of Valentine’s Day. Some experts state that it originated from St. Valentine, a Roman who was martyred for refusing to give up Christianity. He died on February 14, 269 A.D., the same day that had been devoted to love lotteries. Legend also says that St. Valentine left a farewell note for the jailer’s daughter, who had become his friend, and signed it “From Your Valentine”. Other aspects of the story say that Saint Valentine served as a priest at the temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius. Claudius then had Valentine jailed for defying him. In 496 A.D. Pope Gelasius set aside February 14 to honour St. Valentine.
Gradually, February 14 became the date for exchanging love messages and St. Valentine became the patron saint of lovers. The date was marked by sending poems and simple gifts such as flowers. There was often a social gathering or a ball.
