Gizmo Project got a huge upgrade today. Version 3.0 of the popular, cross-platform VoIP client was released, introducing several requested features including tabbed chat, improved group chat, complete chat logging, real-time file sharing and more. Unfortunately, version 3.0 is only available immediately for Windows, but will soon be moved over to OS X and Linux. Until I boot up Parallels to give it a try, I’ve posted the press release below.

Gizmo Project 3.0 has NEW meta-voice capabilities that link together four of the most popular Voice and IM networks with one client for the first time. This means all calls to Yahoo Messenger, Windows Live, Google Talk, Jabber, and Gizmo Project users are free. To make a call, users simply type the username or ID of the person they want to call plus the network domain, for example, username@yahoo.com or username@hotmail.com
