The readers of this site give so much to me (time, patience, wit, no money) that I decided it's time for me to start returning the favor. Now, I'd offer back rubs or a round of golf or bowling or something, but the whole travel thing makes that difficult. I guess instead I'll just hand out some awards for the Comments of the Week. For gits and shiggles, we'll call these the CoWs and forget that
In the real estate business, we are constantly searching for ways to generate leads that will (hopefully) turn into a profitable venture. But here are times when we need to use our resources to benefit someone other than ourselves.
Recently, I was offered an opportunity to stage a spec house for a local high school program. At first the thought of donating my time and resources to a valuable ca

Fart Blossoms, I was so taken with this new spirit of giving back last night, that I was a jumping ball of energy. I simply could not sit still, so I decided a few glasses of wine would give me the right amount of chill.

The folks over at Corkscrew-Balloon show us a few pics of a young woman who went back and became a patron for her old elementary school in Thailand… What the folks at the school are doing is pretty admirable too.

Lauren over at College Candy writes a quick primer for the college set (or anyone) to consider others for a minute instead of themselves. As a college student she states that she has guy problems, dating issues, roommate quabbles, and what not.
But that all in all her problems are quite minor compared to some who have “real problems”, like homelessness, diseases like cancer, hunger, and domestic abuse.
If you feel like you want to step away from yourself and focus some energy and time on others and give back, take a look below at 10 Ways to Get Started.

Edmonton's Boyle Street Co-op gave back to hundreds with a hot traditional turkey dinner. Students and volunteers prepared for about a week for the massive dinner and hoped to feed 1800 people."This may be the only meal that these people get that is warm," student Corey Wren told CTV Edmonton. "I couldn't take food away from someone who needs it," he said. "I have more than enough food at home."This year marked the 16th Thanksgiving Dinner event held by the Boyle Street Co-op.
By Rick Bedard The Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League are a fan favorite franchise. They have been a success on the field, playing at a consistently high level, since joining the league as an expansion team in 1960. In addition to their great success on the field, “America’s Team” has been just as successful off the field and is considered to be one of the most valuable sports teams in North America. The great success of the Cowboys organization hasn’t just been limited to the football field, it has spilled over into the community that it serves, represents, and calls home.At the heart of any organizations success are the people. Jerry Jones has been owner of the NFL Dallas Cowboys for the past 18 years. Together, he, his wife Gene and their family manage and operate the franchise. All three of his children are part of the Cowboys organization and are actively involved with the day-to-day operation of the franchise. Thankfully for the people of Dallas and area, Jerr
I will be away for the next 2days but before that, I would like to share a promise I made to myself to do when I surpass the USD1k earning mark which I did so last week. I told myself I would give back by doing a little community work.

Okay, I know that title probably had a few of you raising your eyebrows. The words Insurance and giving back are not commonly associated with insurance companies!
But I read with great delight today that the largest dental insurer in the States is donating $1 million towards a new plan to provide free dental cover to children living in King County.
Executive Ron Sims wants to provide universal health coverage for kids by 2010. Sims estimated that 11,000 to 13,000 children might be helped.
I think this is a fantastic initiative by King County and a real credit to the insurer for donating funds.
I was shocked recently to learn that many children aged 2 and over have major teeth decay. Sign of the times I guess. Keep the kids away from the sugar treats and soft drinks!

(PRWEB) February 8, 2007 -- La Belle Dolce, the new celebrity fashion boutique, is off to a running start in both fashion and philanthropy. La Belle Dolce's innovative take on celebrity fashion, and breast cancer and lung disease awareness, is unique among other internet fashion websites, in that it marries great clothes with a good cause. At La Belle Dolce, you can find the latest trends in what celebrities are wearing, and also learn about an important cause; the fight against breast cancer and lung disease. Fashion and breast cancer and lung disease awareness is close to owner Berta Lippert's heart: "In the spring of 2004, my mother and best friend were both diagnosed with breast cancer and had their operations within hours of one another. Months of chemotherapy and radiation treatments followed." said Lippert. "Watching them go through that, and feeling there was little I could do, was the most difficult experience of my life. So I wanted to create a website that reflects two of m
