      Gilchrist kills the Kings
Deccan finally won a match after losing 5 in a row by beating Dhoni’s team - The Chennai Super kings by 7 wickets. This was the 3rd consecutive defeat for the Indian skipper Dhoni - after a 4 win a row performance. The slip in form seems to be mainly due to the foreign players leaving for international dutty. Such results from the teams at the top will help the likes of Mumbai Indians, Deccan and Bangalore who can now hope to qualify for the semi finals of IPL.  Stand-in skipper Adam Gilchrist led the team well and set an example after making a quick half century. Deccan Chargers won the toss and choose the bowl first, this proved to be the right decision as the bowlers struck early to get 4 top order wickets for less than 50. This ensured a low total would be set for the chase. Only Su

      Gilchrist on fire
The Chennai Super Kings slumped to their third defeat on the bounce as an Adam Gilchrist-inspired Deccan Chargers eased to a seven-wicket win in their Indian Premier League encounter on Tuesday. The hosts set the Chargers a victory target of 145 from their 20 overs but that total looked under threat right from the start of the visitors' reply as opener Gilchrist set about Chennai attack with some sumptuous stroke play. The former Australia international reached 54 in just 36 balls to lay the groundwork for the win, which was clinched thanks Scott Styris' unbeaten 36 and Shahid Afridi's quickfire 20 not out. The victory for the Chargers is only their second of the competition, and lifts them from the foot of the IPL standings. The hosts' innings never truly fired into life, with the wic

Jim Gilchrist drops his lawsuit against the Minuteman group
I had a feeling something like this would happen. The group must have received a bunch of money (some of it from my dad). And what does a group that volunteers to watch the border do with all of that money? Buy lawn chairs? (I'm just kidding. I'm guessing it goes into advertising and lobbyists). Anyways, I have some sympathy for the group as they spotlight an important issue and give voice to millions of Americans sympathetic with their aims. And, I have to admit that I have no firsthand knowledge of any wrongdoing. It's a shame this had to happen. I've heard Gilchrist on the radio and he's a good spokesman for the group's ideas. He's not so good, however, that I'd risk giving him any money. On the other hand, I'm glad the Minutemen police their group; it lends them credibility. SANTA ANA, Calif. — Minuteman Project founder Jim Gilchrist is forming a new anti-illegal immigrant group. Its name: the Jim Gilchrist Minuteman Project Incorporated. Gilchrist announced t

Jim Gilchrist ousted: A Minuteman meets his hour of crisis
I found another site that has some interesting replies from supposed members of the Minuteman Project. Lone Star Times article link here. It's unfortunate that it is so common for good friends to end up at cross purposes like what has happened to Jim Gilchrist and the Minuteman Project. Steve Wozniak being ousted from Apple by Steve Jobs is a historic example of a similar occurrence. I've seen it a number of times with people I knew. All too often it's a case of inflated or conflicting egos. Sometimes it's a difference or change in expectations, direction and goals. Sometimes it's blind ambition by people who will do anything to climb the ladder of success. The story below only hits the highlights of the issues and brings up more questions than it answers. I don't know Jim Gilchrist personally but his organization is just a scant few miles from where I live. I've seen him called every vile name in the book by people that are afraid of what he represents. He was called a vigilan
