Mi gozo en un pozo... Cuando ayer actualicé mi flamante Feisty Fawn a Gutsy Gibbon todo fue de perillas pero cuando lo reinicé las Xs dejaron dejaron de funcionar. Intenté solucionarlo pero fue inútil... tuve que reinstalarlo TODO de nuevo... La verdad es que lo he hecho tantas veces que no me costó nada y, cosas del destino, cuando abrí el buzón de mi casa me encontré los cd's pedidos por ship it. Después de instalar Ubuntu 7.10 lo primero que hice, y que siempre se debe hacer, es instalar las actualizaciones y en este caso fue perfecto, el sonido funcionó de maravilla. Después instalé los controladores restringidos (Sistema-Administración-Gestión de controladores restringidos) y activé el compiz-fusion. El Compiz-fusión se activa en Sistema-Preferencias-Apariencia-Efectos visuales pero puede ser que tengas algún problemilla y seguramente sea "The Composite extension is not available". Tranquilo que tiene fácil solución. Sólo tienes que instalar el xserver-xgl:

I have used Wubi in the past to run linux, but sadly I will have to wait a few days till the new version of that is released. You can check out the new things in 7.10 in my previous post. If you are thinking about try linux, don't think, do. Ubuntu is the most user friendly linux that I have come across. Je crois bien que c'est la première fois que j'entends autant parler de la nouvelle version d'Ubuntu : Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon. Preparados, listos, ¡¡ya!! Hoy por fin tendremos disponible la nueva versión 7.10 del aclamado Ubuntu. Hoy se subirán a los servers las .iso definitivas de las diferentes arquitecturas de procesador (i386, AMD64, MAC…) Como ya sabéis cuando se suban, podéis actualizarlo de muchas formas, o simplemente bajaros la nueva .iso para grabarla a un CD. Una de las formas más fáciles de actualizar versión es la típica: O bien hacerlo abriendo un terminal en el que escribiremos: update-manager Procedimiento que seguirán muchas personas en los siguientes días. Seguramente en las primeras horas sea casi imposible acceder a los servers. Como viene siendo costumbre, habrá que esperar algo. Os recomiendo que seáis de los primeros en comprobar las actualizaciones para que todavía no se hayan saturado los servidores. Not much is known about the evolutionary origins of this behaviour. The vocal abilities of non-human primates are relatively unimpressive in comparison, with gibbon songs being a rare exception. These apes assemble a repertoire of call notes into elaborate songs, which function to repel conspecific intruders, advertise pair bonds, and attract mates. We conducted a series of field experiments with white-handed gibbons** at Khao Yai National Park, Thailand, which showed that this ape species uses songs also to protect themselves against predation.
