A little girl is sitting on her grandpa's lap and studying the wrinkles on his old face. She gets up the nerve to rub her fingers over the wrinkles. Then she touches her own face and looks more puzzled. Finally the little girl asks, "Grandpa, did God make you?""He sure did honey, a long time ago," replies her grandpa."Well, did God make me?" asks the little girl."Yes, He did, and that wasn't too l

I didn’t set out to find this stuff about Teach For America-it just keeps finding me. I couldn’t pass this one up.

Chih__'s diary is much better than before. She still needs to improve more but I am happy with her progress. I think Diaries/Journals are a critical tool in the English teachers tool box. It is another way of breaking the communication barrier. I only wish I had started doing it sooner. If you see a diary with errors it is because i only correct a little at a time. Too much red pen can make the student depressed and lose confidence. I am a hard core strict teacher but I don't do anything that makes my job harder.

A dominant performance by the young Andrew Bynum against the Suns made the Lakers a contender in the Western Conference. With Kobe Bryant, it seems that he found a new partner in the person of Bynum.
The Lakers are tougher this year with their experience and their supporting casts more solid.
Little Ronnie is coming along. The ankle is almost half the size that it was before. It still has not abscessed out. These type of injuries take a long time to resolve themselves. She is one tough little girl. She is the youngest weanling out in the pasture, she holds her own. Cash continues to be her best friend. He is the lover of the group, he has Emma and Ronnie. He hangs with them while the other 2 colts bicker over who the boss is. Roxanne hangs with the one colt Spike and Bosco has his Momma out there. She reminds him that she has weaned him. My friend Sue had her show stallion abscess from a vaccination in the neck. The vet had them do different things and as a final resort was going to lance it. They were worried about infection and scarring. Before the vet could get out to do that the abscess went from the neck right down into the hoof. It was so bad it took off a big part of the hoof. The farrier kept him comfortable so he was not totally lame, he was not show sound. He was
Like the bionic woman herself, the show keeps getting stronger.
Something happened to Bionic Woman on its way to becoming the worst show of the season: it got pretty good. Maybe not good in the "well written and original" kind of way but certainly in the "oddly addictive and inoffensively fun" manner.
I panned the first episode for its pretentious direction and pseudo "darkness," but the producers of the show completely transform the show in the second episode, lightening up the tone and infusing Bionic Woman with a sense of humor.
The characters are good too. The lead actress, Michelle Ryan, does a great job playing a tough yet girly and feminine Jamie Sommers. Nathan (Kevin Rankin) adds most of the humor as an unlucky in love geek (redundant, I know). The love interest, Tom (Jordan Bridges), is, well, kind of interesting as are the episodes in which he acts (He'll have a recurring role). The psychologist with the Bond-girl name, Ruth Treadwell (Molly Price) has the potential to
Marriage: Getting Better ResultsThere is a common computer phrase, “Garbage in, garbage out,” that tells us the quality of our results will depend on the quality of our input. When we apply this concept to marriage we can begin to create better results. The first thing to do is evaluate the quality of the effort that you are putting into your relationship. If you want your relationship to be everything that you dreamed it would be, then you need to carefully consider what you are putting into it.To see top quality results your need top quality input. You need to not only avoid the “garbage in” behaviors like criticism, rudeness, neglect, withdrawal, dishonesty and defensiveness, but you need to replace them relationship-building behaviors. Replace Criticism with GratitudeUnlike criticism, gratitude always feels good to the receiver. Gratitude means noticing and acknowledging what your partner does that contributes to your relationship. Gratitude is an excellent motivator, it let
Sex works on the principle of positive feed back: more sex just improves our ‘performance’. A team from Sydney University says that men with damaged sperm should have sex daily to increase the chances of getting their partner pregnant. In many cases, couples with fertility issues abstain from sex for several days to boost sperm numbers before trying to conceive.
But the new research claims that this could mean lower-quality sperm. The Australian team investigated 42 men whose sperm had been discovered to have an abnormal shape after microscopical investigations. The subjects were required to ejaculate each day for seven days, and these sperms were compared with those collected from them after three days of abstinence.
Except for five cases, all the subjects presented less sperm damage in their samples coming after daily ejaculation, compared to the post-abstention samples. Dr Allan Pacey, the secretary of the British Fertility Society, agrees that daily sex could improve sperm qua
By: Christine Peppler Taking photographs of the people in your life is simple with a digital camera. We all have collections of images which represent the important people and events in our lives. Some of the pictures are great, but some leave our subjects stiffly posed, lost in the sea of a cluttered background, and often lacking personality as they stare back with the same "posed" face as in every other photograph. So how do we capture the detail and the personality so that the image saves for us a more meaningful record of a moment or a person?Obviously, professional photographers take control of the background and lighting, direct the pose of their subjects, and use a great deal of creativity with props and camera controls to assure the highest quality image. For the average person however, candid shots are more effective in capturing the true meaning or personality at a given moment. For these individuals, following just a few basic tips can go a long way in obtaining photographs

Probably not, but the fact July wasn't as deadly as past months is a good thing.Still, the Sunnis left the government and al-Maliki is headed for Iran to hold hands with what's his face, so, yes, I'm still skeptical that Jeffersonian Democracy will come to that country. In fact, I'm still skeptical about that country being an ally a few years after we leave, but at least we may be able to leave soon and put this nightmare behind us.All Bush needed to get his act together was to loose an election.
I’m getting better now as the last 2 days laying on my bed with fever once again. Of course the weather can be harsh sometimes but we do need to take care of our health and stay healthy. I’ve found a funny infomercial ads from Thailand on YouTube. Check it out

This year is beginning to look good. A few fine new albums that have been released or are still awaiting release will make the wait for the ageless classic bearable (apologies for the links mix-up earlier; the Cary Brothers link is now correct).Spoon - The UnderdogFrom Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, which despite its awful title is a glorious album, with all the experimentations coming together just right. "The Underdog" is fantastic; it has horns, acoustic guitars, handclaps, a furious finale, and Britt Daniel sounds as much as Phil Lynott as he ever will. An album to be excited about.Brandi Carlile - The StoryWhen I first came across Carlile, I thought her name marked her out as a cheerleader-type pop princess. Goodness, how wrong I was. This woman can sing her folk-rock/alt.country stuff. Hear her roar on "The Story", the title track from her quite wonderful sophomore album. At my two previous congregations I asked for a show of hands. Raise your hand if you think the world is getting better.Raise your hand if you think the world is getting worse. It was somewhat of a trick question. Many if not most folks thought the world was getting worse. So I pushed them on it. Let's get specific. Will the world be better than it is now in 2020? Show of hands. Will the world get better in 2040?Will the world get better in 2060?Will the world get better in 2080?Will the world get better in 2107?Will the world get better in 2207?How about 2525?What do you think? Where are we headed? What is the content of your faith in regards to this? Is there hope for Earth and life on Earth including human life?Let's throw out another idea. Do you think God wants the world to get better or worse? How you answer these questions says a great deal about where your hope (and perhaps your motivation) is grounded. More later...
Firing back in her divorce case, Anne Heche asks for full custody of her son and claims her ex-husband, Coley Laffoon, craves porn, poker and money.
Heche says in court papers that although Laffoon claims to be a stay-at-home dad, he actually leaves their 5-year-old son Homer “with nannies and babysitters while he plays ping-pong, backgammon and poker and views pornography online.
“He holds a poker game at his home every Thursday night and allows Homer to participate,” the Men in Trees stars says in a Los Angeles Superior Court filing released Thursday.
She adds that Laffoon bragged to cast members of her show, taped in Vancouver, that he “knew each strip joint in town.”
Heche asks the judge to grant her sole legal and physical custody of their son, to give Laffoon visitation privileges, and to deny his request for support.
The judge can expect arguments from each side that the other parent is psychologically unfit.

I have recently downloaded the new Windows Live Hotmail Beta version, and I must say that it is much better than the old version. It has a lot more features and options. I can do a lot of things in this email program that I could not do with the old version. Including completely personalize it to look just the way I want it to. If you are still running your email through the old version of hotmail, I urge you to get on the beta bandwagon and make your hotmail truly hot.
It was recently revealed that Peter Andre was in hospital with suspected meningitis and he got pretty sick. Jordan said this in an interview with OK:"He's usually sleeping, or drifting in and out. Yesterday I went in and he didn't even know I was there. I am so stressed."That's not too good eh?But I've also just read stuff saying he's getting better. View:"However, fortunately the former singer is now showing signs of recovery as he recuperates in hospital – although doctors have said it will be weeks before he makes a recovery."Cool. I'm not even a fan of his - he's clearly a gay but he's married to Jordan. WTF?But it's still good he's recovering.Unlike me - I've been getting steadily worse all day. Don't know what's wrong - really sore throat & feel like I'm gonna puke. Any doctors out there?sourcesourcesource
I love the tone of Batman Begins. Director Christopher Nolan has brought the character in the real world and I can''t wait for the next film. And more and more reports are coming in about the amazing cast for the next film The Dark Knight, due in 2008. Here is who we have so far:Christian Bale - Bruce Wayne/BatmanHeath Ledger - The JokerMichael Caine - AlfredGary Oldman - Jim GordonMorgan Freeman - Lucius FoxMaggie Gyllenhaal - Rachel Dawes (replacing the captive Katie Holmes)Aaron Eckhart - Harvey Dent (the DA who will become Two-Face)Eric Roberts - mafia kingpinWilliam Fichtner - bank managerHow is that for impressive? Roger Ebert writes in today's Sun-Times:Being sick is no fun. But you can have fun while you’re sick. I wouldn’t miss the festival for anything!P.S. to gossip rags: I have some back pain, and to make it easier for me to sit through screenings, the festival has installed my very own La-Z-Boy chair. SlashMySearch is getting better and better everyday! They are coming out with new features and have fixed the bugs on the site. I have experienced no more down time and it is incredible. They now have their own email service. So now all of SlashMySearch member's have their own email account with them and guess what?? We are all earning money just for using it!! So what I did instead of logging on to everything I am a member of and changing my email address, I just forwarded all of my main email to SlashMyMail. I love it! You get to choose between the new web mail or if you don't like it then you can switch back at any time. Since I have dial up the new web mail is way too slow for me so I switched back to the classic but it is still pretty cool to earn money just by using your email. I use my email everyday so this is great news for me. And the best part besides the earning of course is that it is free!!Another new feature they will be releasing real soon is SMS cash! This is for tho
I rarely will ever blog about politics, war, international disputes, crimes and such topics, but I think I will blog about the improving relationship between Japan and China. Not many people here in the west, especially in the Caribbean know about many the differences issues that these two great countries have disagreed and even rioted over in the last 120 years. Lets just say that Japan and China has never been friends much in a while and in modern times issues have been lingering, beginning from as early as the last 19th century, throughout the 20th and now in the 21st. Wars found then especially the during the early to mid 1900s have left a last burden of animosity and mistrust between these two economic powerhouses but in recent times, especially now as the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe meet in Tokyo to work on thawing the icy relationship that their countries have shared for so long it seems that things are looking up and moving towards a health

Well, after 3 failed attempts to install the new IE7 browser, it finally loaded! Wow, I actually expected it to take longer. Now comes the real fun; just how will it send my computer into chaos? Ok, enough cynicism for MS, and on to IE7. So far, it is a huge improvement from previous versions, with tabbed browsing, and a cleaner look. It does have a more fluid and powerful feel to it, that actually seems like it is not so cumbersome and boring as IE6. The new browser is heavily marketing the security features (refer back to chaos), and RSS feed capabilities (finally) and the ability to handle CSS and other website design tools automatically, that previously looked scrambled in IE. Bloggers will appreciate that. So far, I have to say IE7 is a vast improvement(mostly because they copied everything people liked about Firefox), and will make the 3 sites I have to view in IE much better. Otherwise, there is no chance I'll switch from the far superior Firefox. I almost feel sorry fo
