Z and I have had a deal for a little over a month now that in order for her to receive the benefits of all the cool trips and “toys” in the future she would have to earn them. This is because she was becoming spoiled in the literal sense: she honestly felt that she deserved all of the things she was getting simply because she continued to breathe. That’s what she’s essentially been taught for the last 11 years, and I have been as guilty of it as anyone for the last two that I’ve been in her life.
So, I got her some construction paper and we made an earnings meter with a $600 goal on the top. We’d done some budgeting back in August and she determined that was how much she needed to save in order to go to summer camp again in 2008. As of yesterday, she’d saved a grand total of $0.00 in almost 4 months. Sorry, but I've been too busy to update. My workload has increased, so things do get kinda insane at times. My only time to chill is on Sunday, so I pretty much treasure it. Usually, I hang out with the other kids from church, but... Today, I'm on my own. Everyone else is busy with the youth Christmas dance. And nope, I'm not in on it cause I doubt that I would have the time and energy to commit.My routine is quite predictable these days. If I'm not at the office, I'm most likely at home sleeping, reading, or occasionally watching a DVD. I hardly go out at night. At most, it only happens once a week. My perceptions on certain things have also changed. I'll blog about it another time. [Hopefully]The way things have been lately, please don't blame me if I'm having a pretty bleak outlook on life. John Reid, the tough Home Secretary who keeps us all safe in our beds at night, is starting a tough new campaign to get on top of the battle against illegal immigrants, which seems to be the bogeyman of all home secretaries. If things are going badly, blaming illegal immigrants will take the heat off and win you plaudits. However, rather than say he is going to deport them all on slave ships, his new masterplan is to send them a text message asking them to leave, if they have overstayed their visa limit and presumably their welcome. The text message will read: “Hi Jn Rd wld like U 2 fck off home now OK”.
Apparently, according to John Reid, the problem with immigrants is simple:
