Well I thought I’d never see it happen, but in times like these anything is possible I guess. I watched Friday Night With Jonathan Ross last night; his guests were legendary John Travolta, Ricky Gervais, and Gareth Gates.
As usual with Ross the show is a laugh a minute with the individual interviews, but when Jonathon wanted Ricky to ask John Travolta to take a part in his Extra’s special the legendary film star/dancer agreed. To cap it all, Jonathon Ross made Ricky Gervais come back out and dance with John Travolta to sign the deal.
Of course Ricky only knows one dance, the famous Office arm swinging routine, but that didn’t put John Travolta off strutting his stuff in his usual professional manner.
John Travolta finally said, “I’ll probably do anything Ricky Gervais says.”
Funniest dancing duo I’ve seen in ages. If you missed it try to find it, it’s bound to turn up on the internet somewhere sooner or later.

After seeing Ricky Gervais’ skit on Comic Relief last week I was encouraged to search for some older clips of the great man and here is the classic! This dance came from Series 2, Episode 5 of the original British version of The Office and see David Brent (Gervais smarmy character) trying to impress his colleagues and co-workers by dancing for charity. The problem is of course, he’s an atrocious dancer and all that happens is they all laugh and look embarrassed. Apparently the actors playing the bystanders had trouble not laughing themselves at the time and if you look closely, you can see Martin Freeman (playing Tim) trying to stifle a laughing fit. Great clip, and in my mind, just exemplifies how funny Ricky Gervais is.
