President Ford, the only unelected American president, was famous for his assertion upon taking the office, “Our long national nightmare is over.” Fearful that criminal proceedings of his predecessor, Richard M. Nixon, would consume the Congress and the nation, he granted him a full pardon. In 1973, Ford ascended to the vice presidency by appointment following Spiro Agnew’s resignation due to tax evasion. Ford was the last surviving member of the Warren Commission, the body tasked by President Lyndon Johnson to investigate the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Okay so I really don’t know much about President Gerald Ford except that he took the Presidency after Nixon and pardoned Nixon and that pissed people off. Then he was almost killed by a follower of Charles Manson named Squeaky. I think someone else tried to shoot him too. Oh this is the only other thing I know about him. He was the only un-elected president, and America's oldest president as well, beating Reagan by a month. Nixon.In light of his work as president, he was quite the athlete before his life in public service as he played on Michigan's 1932 and '33 national championship football teams. Singer Gerald Levert's death last November has been ruled accidental, caused by a combination of prescription narcotics and over-the-counter drugs, a Cleveland area coroner said. The drugs in his bloodstream included the narcotic pain relievers Vicodin, Percocet and Darvocet, along with anxiety medication Xanax and two over-the-counter antihistamines, Geauga County Coroner Kevin Chartrand said. The official cause of death was acute intoxication, and the death was ruled accidental. Levert, 40, son of O'Jays singer Eddie Levert, died Nov. 10 in his suburban Cleveland home. The album ("In My Songs") that Levert was working on before his untimely death, will be released this Tuesday. The title track laments Levert's situation as a singer of love songs who longs for a love of his own.
