Anthony North: Sacred geometry is an ancient system of design and building based upon the harmonic relationship between man, nature and the universe. Virtually ignored by modern architects and designers, it was central to most ancient societies. The practice concerns a worldview of pattern recognition, producing religious patterns and structures involving space, time and form. By working with
The following post is an excerpt from my soon to be released book, 5 Conversations You Must Have With Your Daughter. It is a sneak peek of a portion of a chapter in Conversation #1: You are more than the sum of your parts. Enjoy! On a recent afternoon while shopping with my daughter, I waited outside a dressing room while she tried on some jeans. In the dressing room next to her, a young lady yell
Blue diamonds, I hate you
You're so slow and dumb
But you're always getting faster
Green boxes, I hate you too
You're so hard to shoot,
It's the one shape I can't master
Geometry Wars will be the death of me, oh
I desparately need a strategy
Someone post a video to youtube, for me to, get better
Waves mode, I hate you
You're relentless
And you had to throw in the green boxes
And Sequence, I ha

I figured my nemesis (yes, I know who you are) would appreciate this. I kinda feel bad for the guy. I though the green buggers in Geometry Wars 2 were some of the easiest in this Xbox Live Arcade game.

As far as my aging brain can remember, geometry is the mathematics of lines, curves and surfaces. Geometry Wars 2 (now available on Xbox Live Arcade for 800 Microsoft Points) also features lines, curves and surfaces but thankfully pairs this with the far more entertaining mathematics of smart [...]

The literature on natural bundles and natural operators in differential geometry, was until now, scattered in the mathematical journal literature. This book is the first monograph on the subject, collecting this material in a unified presentation. The book begins with an introduction to differential geometry stressing naturality and functionality, and the general theory of

Survey, measure and calculate each area for the circumferential impact that you will make upon entering the room. Black multiplied by shapes and textures equals a varied landscape even when the palette is discrete. Youth intersects sophistication with curves in the attire while hexagonal planes firmly plant abstracted Austenian beauty into 2007 aesthetics. This is my kind of cool.

Like many other science subjects, Geometry has developed to its present form with the help of contributions from many renowned mathematicians who devoted all their life understanding and developing this science. Pythagoras is among the first few names that come to our mind with the mention of this particular subject. Geometry was initially considered a body of practical knowledge relating to lengths, areas, and volumes. But it was in the third century B.C. when geometry was put into an axiomatic form by Euclid, whose treatment set a standard for many centuries to follow.
One of the most crucial areas in geometry is the formulas. The geometry formulas allow students to identify and subsequently make functional use of geometrical concepts such as its definitions, postulates, geometrical statements in if-then form and its converses among others. This is why, much of the importance is given to these formulas and if you are intending to master this particular subject, then you should develo
The Xbox 360-exclusive racing game Project Gotham Racing 4 will include an exclusive new Geometry Wars game called Geometry Wars: Waves.
As you might recall, Project Gotham Racing 2 included Geometry Wars, and Project Gotham Racing 3 had a demo of Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved which was later released on to Xbox Live Arcade. Despite Waves being based on Retro Evolved, Geometry Wars: Waves isn’t the true next game in the series, so it won’t be coming to Xbox Live Arcade.
Project Gotham Racing 4’s release date is October 2nd in America and October 12th in Europe. Geometry Wars fans are having a great year, because on November 6th the Wii and DS game Geometry Wars: Galaxies will be released as well. — Via Prog
There are certain rules game companies need to follow when promoting their product. The first of which is when you happen to use a song by a band that has as big of a following in the video game world as They Might be Giants, make sure you do it right. No excuses. With that said, I am pleasantly surprised with the latest Geometry Wars Galaxies promo that was posted on Gametrailers and Eurogamer (and subsequently around 900 different websites across the internet). Though I have to say that it's hard to get past the fact that I'm not listening to the original rendition of what happens to Triangle man; the style, look, and feel of the commercial reminds me a lot (in a good way) of some of the classic Atari arcade commercials of yesteryear. If there was ever a game that could make Particle Man work... Geometry Wars is it.
I have one of those Google desktop thingamabobs over on the right hand side of my screen, and every so often I actually look at it. Well, I just happened to glance over and I see this:
So this little map intrigues me! How very geometric! Is it some computer error or is that really the satellite image of zip code 79316? And where in the heck is that if it really does look like that? I go ahead and google map it, and sure enough, that’s what the satellite shows!
What is up with the square lots with the circular fields? It’s puzziling to me why anyone in Brownfield, Texas would make perfect little circles all over the place like that.
Guess I’m off to google some more.
Monday Photo Shoot: Picture something that shows off something geometrical. Squares, cubes, vectors, right angles, tangents and so on; basically, any picture that shows geometrical forms and shapes in an interesting and obvious way.

Geometry Wars: Galaxies on DS and Wii returns the series to the big (and small) screens with Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved included as a bonus! Bizarre Creations hands its Geometry Wars franchise to developer Kuju, the team behind Battalion Wars. The game takes everything that made Retro Evolved the best multi-direction shooter around, and besides adding a new campaign, adds multiplayer modes. But there’s more than just an enlarged single-player experience, the four other game modes are: Co-op, Simultaneous, Versus, and Hot Seat. The developer showed off the first gameplay footage of the game in action (watch it below) in a 1UP preview.
In the interview Sierra producer, Roger Carpenter, explains: “The principle is very simple. The Galaxy is full of solar systems. The solar systems have lots of planets within them, and each one of those is a battlefield. You’ve got to do battle with each planet’s inhabitants… all in a Geometry Wars style, of course. Each of
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved has found a new home on Valve’s Steam service, which allows PC users to purchase and download games directly to their computer. In addition to allowing play on Windows XP, it will cost a mere $2.95! That is initially, until June 22, when the price will increase to the still super-cheap cost of $3.95.
Previously the PC version, downloadable through MSN Games, was only compatible with Windows Vista, so this is great news for those that have yet to upgrade to Vista yet still want to play Geometry Wars on their computer.
Bizarre Creations extremely addicting arcade-style shooter, Geometry Wars has turned into a pretty big casual game phenomenon since it’s initial release on Xbox 360, with that version selling through the roof and proving the viability of downloading games on a console system (thanks to the pick-up-and-play and addictive nature of the game).
Nintendo even made a big announcement recently (via a Nintendo Power cover-story) that Geo

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved is a old school style shooter, but remixed for the 21st century with next generation graphics and deep, modern gameplay. Playing is simple: you are a geometric "ship" trapped in a grid world, facing off against waves of deadly spinners, snakes, and repulsars. Your aim is to survive long enough to set a high score!Avoid the spawning enemies, and shoot them down for points. You can also fire smart bombs, which destroy all bad guys on the screen. Save these up for when the going gets really tough! The more bad guys you kill, the higher your score multiplier goes (2x, 4x, etc.). The higher your multiplier, the more you can score. But don't die, as you lose your multiplier and have to build it up again from scratch! Bombs don't add to your multiplier, but they can stop you from dying, so use them wisely!WebsiteDownloadRelease Date: 07 March 2007Genre: Action
I’m sure by now everyone has downloaded Geometry Wars. It’s fun, addicting, and cheap. Anyone who has played Project Gotham Racing 2 knows just how fun the game can be — I, myself, played Geometry Wars more than I did the actual PGR2. It’s only natural that Geometry Wars would get it’s own game eventually, and with the introduction of Xbox Live’s Arcade, it had a platform for release. But, what if I told you that it was originally supposed to be free?
In a recent interview, Bizarre Creations’ Ben Ward said exactly that, going on to explain that Geometry Wars was supposed to be a gift to the Hardcore Gamer, and when they were informed that they could not simply give it away, they asked what the lowest price they could charge for it was. That is how Geometry Wars became only 400 points.
Maybe I’m just a little ignorant of how things work over Xbox Live (embarrassing revelation, considering I work… well, here) but I don’t see

You have no idea how hard it was to find the proper shorthand for proportions through Google. My Math was always garbage anyway…
I’ve seen Space Giraffe dubbed “an unnoficial sequel to Tempest 2000” a few times. Looking at the video for the game it’s easy to see why, Space Giraffe looks like Tempest in the same way that you can see Asteroids in Geometry Wars.
If you were to ask me what my favorite Arcade game of all time was I’d easily nominate Tempest and am really looking forward to seeing this title hit the XBox Live Arcade. For more on Space Giraffe check out 1up.com’s exclusive look at Jeff Minter’s Xbox Live Arcade game.

The slippery slope of the Bear market just hit a 90-degree angle. After coasting at a 45-degree angle, that at times looked like it would plateau, stocks are now moving decidedly down hill and picking up speed. Each bump in the road this year has shaken out passengers, but now those thrown from the market will face even greater fiscal injury (not to mention mental, as they will be taking lumps
