Blue diamonds, I hate you
You're so slow and dumb
But you're always getting faster
Green boxes, I hate you too
You're so hard to shoot,
It's the one shape I can't master
Geometry Wars will be the death of me, oh
I desparately need a strategy
Someone post a video to youtube, for me to, get better
Waves mode, I hate you
You're relentless
And you had to throw in the green boxes
And Sequence, I ha
We don’t normally latch onto viral videos on YouTube, but since I am familiar with this person and frequent the same website he does, I wanted to give him some props to help spread his great work. The song is from the recently released Geometry Wars 2 arcade title for the Xbox360. His name is [...]

As far as my aging brain can remember, geometry is the mathematics of lines, curves and surfaces. Geometry Wars 2 (now available on Xbox Live Arcade for 800 Microsoft Points) also features lines, curves and surfaces but thankfully pairs this with the far more entertaining mathematics of smart [...]

The Xbox 360-exclusive racing game Project Gotham Racing 4 will include an exclusive new Geometry Wars game called Geometry Wars: Waves.
As you might recall, Project Gotham Racing 2 included Geometry Wars, and Project Gotham Racing 3 had a demo of Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved which was later released on to Xbox Live Arcade. Despite Waves being based on Retro Evolved, Geometry Wars: Waves isn’t the true next game in the series, so it won’t be coming to Xbox Live Arcade.
Project Gotham Racing 4’s release date is October 2nd in America and October 12th in Europe. Geometry Wars fans are having a great year, because on November 6th the Wii and DS game Geometry Wars: Galaxies will be released as well. — Via Prog
There are certain rules game companies need to follow when promoting their product. The first of which is when you happen to use a song by a band that has as big of a following in the video game world as They Might be Giants, make sure you do it right. No excuses. With that said, I am pleasantly surprised with the latest Geometry Wars Galaxies promo that was posted on Gametrailers and Eurogamer (and subsequently around 900 different websites across the internet). Though I have to say that it's hard to get past the fact that I'm not listening to the original rendition of what happens to Triangle man; the style, look, and feel of the commercial reminds me a lot (in a good way) of some of the classic Atari arcade commercials of yesteryear. If there was ever a game that could make Particle Man work... Geometry Wars is it.
Geometry Wars: Galaxies on DS and Wii returns the series to the big (and small) screens with Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved included as a bonus! Bizarre Creations hands its Geometry Wars franchise to developer Kuju, the team behind Battalion Wars. The game takes everything that made Retro Evolved the best multi-direction shooter around, and besides adding a new campaign, adds multiplayer modes. But there’s more than just an enlarged single-player experience, the four other game modes are: Co-op, Simultaneous, Versus, and Hot Seat. The developer showed off the first gameplay footage of the game in action (watch it below) in a 1UP preview.
In the interview Sierra producer, Roger Carpenter, explains: “The principle is very simple. The Galaxy is full of solar systems. The solar systems have lots of planets within them, and each one of those is a battlefield. You’ve got to do battle with each planet’s inhabitants… all in a Geometry Wars style, of course. Each of
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved has found a new home on Valve’s Steam service, which allows PC users to purchase and download games directly to their computer. In addition to allowing play on Windows XP, it will cost a mere $2.95! That is initially, until June 22, when the price will increase to the still super-cheap cost of $3.95.
Previously the PC version, downloadable through MSN Games, was only compatible with Windows Vista, so this is great news for those that have yet to upgrade to Vista yet still want to play Geometry Wars on their computer.
Bizarre Creations extremely addicting arcade-style shooter, Geometry Wars has turned into a pretty big casual game phenomenon since it’s initial release on Xbox 360, with that version selling through the roof and proving the viability of downloading games on a console system (thanks to the pick-up-and-play and addictive nature of the game).
Nintendo even made a big announcement recently (via a Nintendo Power cover-story) that Geo
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved is a old school style shooter, but remixed for the 21st century with next generation graphics and deep, modern gameplay. Playing is simple: you are a geometric "ship" trapped in a grid world, facing off against waves of deadly spinners, snakes, and repulsars. Your aim is to survive long enough to set a high score!Avoid the spawning enemies, and shoot them down for points. You can also fire smart bombs, which destroy all bad guys on the screen. Save these up for when the going gets really tough! The more bad guys you kill, the higher your score multiplier goes (2x, 4x, etc.). The higher your multiplier, the more you can score. But don't die, as you lose your multiplier and have to build it up again from scratch! Bombs don't add to your multiplier, but they can stop you from dying, so use them wisely!WebsiteDownloadRelease Date: 07 March 2007Genre: Action
I’m sure by now everyone has downloaded Geometry Wars. It’s fun, addicting, and cheap. Anyone who has played Project Gotham Racing 2 knows just how fun the game can be — I, myself, played Geometry Wars more than I did the actual PGR2. It’s only natural that Geometry Wars would get it’s own game eventually, and with the introduction of Xbox Live’s Arcade, it had a platform for release. But, what if I told you that it was originally supposed to be free?
In a recent interview, Bizarre Creations’ Ben Ward said exactly that, going on to explain that Geometry Wars was supposed to be a gift to the Hardcore Gamer, and when they were informed that they could not simply give it away, they asked what the lowest price they could charge for it was. That is how Geometry Wars became only 400 points.
Maybe I’m just a little ignorant of how things work over Xbox Live (embarrassing revelation, considering I work… well, here) but I don’t see

You have no idea how hard it was to find the proper shorthand for proportions through Google. My Math was always garbage anyway…
I’ve seen Space Giraffe dubbed “an unnoficial sequel to Tempest 2000” a few times. Looking at the video for the game it’s easy to see why, Space Giraffe looks like Tempest in the same way that you can see Asteroids in Geometry Wars.
If you were to ask me what my favorite Arcade game of all time was I’d easily nominate Tempest and am really looking forward to seeing this title hit the XBox Live Arcade. For more on Space Giraffe check out 1up.com’s exclusive look at Jeff Minter’s Xbox Live Arcade game.
