Kings Highway is Exit 170 off of I75. Just go north (east off I75 - but road is actually North/South roadway) on Kings Highway a couple of miles and look for the above sign. You can only turn right on that roadway (seams like you are in the middle of NO WHERE!) and go all the way until the end and right there you will find the restuarant.They have fish, sandwiches, and of course gator-tail and plenty of good food! Bruce Burger, 50, was trying to retrieve his ball Monday from a pond on the sixth hole at the Lake Venice Golf Club.
The alligator latched on to Burger's right forearm and pulled him in the pond, said Gary Morse, a spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Burger used his left arm to beat the reptile until it freed him.
"I saw him reach down to get his ball and he yelled" for help, said Janet Pallo, who was playing the fifth hole and ran over to drive the man to the clubhouse.
Burger, from Lenoir City, Tennessee, was taken to a hospital but was not seriously injured, Morse said Tuesday.

The University of Florida Gators basketball team became the first team since 1992 to repeat as champs. They also added to what has become quite a collegiate sports dynasty; having won basketball ('05-'06), Football ('06), and Basketball again in the last year. Although I was really pulling for Ohio St. I wasn't really surprised at all.Oden had a huge game and dominated the Gators' 3-man rotation of bigmen from start to finish. I was a spectator at a stock race in the 1960’s. The race was in Florida and the driver had wrecked and spun out of control in the middle of the track. Somehow I was down near the car; it kind of felt like I was part of the camera crew or something. It was pretty swampy and a few guys were lifting the injured driver into the back of a pickup truck. The driver was wearing an Evil Knievel-type suit that was colored white, but when they lifted him up to put him in the back of the truck, I could only see red where his right leg used to be! He didn’t lose it because of the crash though, he lost it after he got out of the wrecked car and a gator chomped it off!
This was a strange occurence and the driver and this story became a hero and a legend in the stock car racing world. Fast forward to current day……..

Guess I can blog this now after bringing one of mine back from the ER. What does one do when a teen comes home with a swollen face , scratch marks on the shoulder , shirt halfway ripped off and tells you two alligators attacked him inside of the kayak ? By the way , I lost my new cell phone , kayak and paddles ? Hmmm....why is it that this story doesn't ring true ? Safe bet was to take him to the ER and let them clear him. All is well and even they frown at the story as we do. No kayak or paddles can be found. Must have been 2 hungry gators ! Guess he can forget the phone however , it is still ringing and taking messages....can it do that under water ? Why do I feel like this should be filed under another fish story ?
