Technology research firm Gartner tried to clear up reports that it had said Apple might be buying 10 million iPhones capable of connecting to much faster data networks. Gartner said that they do not know whether Apple has actually placed an order for 3G iPhones and there is no way for them to get a confirmation that an order had been placed. However, they do believe it would be logical if Apple would have done so. “If Apple was to place an order, then 10 million would be a reasonable number. And we absolutely believe that in the next-generation iPhone 3G will be there,” - Bob Hafner, Dulaney's boss. The iPhone currently uses an EDGE radio, a digital mobile phone technology for increased data transmission rates over a cellular network. EDGE, however, is considered a 2.75-genera

Los fabricantes de telefotos móviles han visto como han aumentado sus ventas un 17.4% en este segundo trimestre del año en comparación con las cifras del año pasado. Esto puede ser en parte al lanzamiento reciente el iPhone de Apple, y por este motivo se esperan mejores cifras en el siguiente trimestre… Nokia sigue en cabeza de las ventas de teléfonos móviles con un 36.9%… subiendo respecto al año pasado que tenía un 33.7%, le siguen Motorota con un 14.6% y Samsung que al igual que Nokia ha subido un 3% más, teniendo por el momento un 14.3% del mercado. "Power and cooling is a pandemic in the world of the data center." That was the message from Michael Bell, research vice president at Gartner Inc., speaking at the Gartner IT Infrastructure, Operations and Management Summit 2007 this week in Orlando. "By next year, about half the world's data centers will be functionally obsolete due to insufficient power and cooling capacity to meet the demands of high-density equipment."By 2011, in-rack and in-row cooling will emerge as the predominant cooling strategy for high-density equipment.
