Garret is an excellent actor and has appeared in various films. Very versatile and adapts depending on the role he has to play, he gained at least 30 lbs. of muscle for the role of Patroclus in Troy (2004), then gained another 20 for the role of Don Billingsley in Friday Night Lights (2004) - only to slim back down for the role of Jack Mercer in Four Brothers (2005) Full name: Garrett John Hedlund, Date of birth: September 3, 1984, Place of birth: Roseau, Minnesota, USA, Marrital status: Single, Parents: Robert Martin Hedlund and Kristine Anne Yanish, Siblings: Nathaniel and Amanda He graduated a semester early from Horizon High school in Phoenix, Arizona to pursue acting. I don't know if you've ever wondered how I come up with the Write-Away Contest judge each month, I've got the question once or twice before, and it's no big mystery. First, I only ask people that I know are nice enough to say yes to such a thankless task as being an indentured servant for one full month. I send the judge the entries and they read them all, often putting their own schedules aside, then deliver the verdict under pressure of a rather tight deadline. And all for nothing but my undying affection and eternal gratitude. But besides looking for extremely nice people (of which I actually know quite a few) I try to find people that I think are good writers--those who have the ability to recognize a finely turned sentence or a grammatical faux pas and who have moved me at various ti

I’ve taken a break from blogging for a while and want to assure my readers (all six or seven of you) that I am well. As most of you know, I’m in law school right now and…well, enough said, right? Luckily, I had the opportunity to go down to the mountains and do some hiking [...]
Actors on stage are said to need to exaggerate their every move, so that the audience can actually see the movement. The same goes for singers on stage. Every movement, every head shake, hip swiggle, or pout needs to be done in such a way that people sitting in the back row can [...]
One of the marquee events included at the 4th Annual Brewer’s Plate, held last Sunday as one of the kick-off events of Philly Beer Week, was a beer and cheese tasting with Garrett Oliver. Author of The Brewmaster’s Table and, as the book’s title suggests, brewmaster at Brooklyn Brewery, Garrett made the trip down to Philly to extol the merits and flexibility of beer’s place in the gourmand’s arsenal. As seems almost inevitable, at least based on the context of the last few beer tasting events I’ve attended, Mr. Oliver promoted beer’s strengths in the food-pairing arena in contrast to –and to the detriment of – wine. To paraphrase his words in a nutshell, he prefers beer to wine as he feels it works in harmony with rather than in contrast to food. Feel about that as you

Producer Stephen "Static Major" Garrett, creator of many of the hottest R&B songs of the last decade, has died. The 32-year-old producer/artist from Louisville, Kentucky, best known for his work with Timbaland as well as his own career with the group Playa, has apparently died of a brain aneurysm, reports say.
The prolific producer, songwriter and artist got his star with Jodeci's Devante Swing
One of my favorite songwriter/producer, Stephen “Static” Garrett, sadly died yesterday. Very, very sad. He was most popularly known for writing such #1 hits as “Pony” for...

Well well, someone decided to state facts instead of just an opinion...Well, let's take a look at the facts...First...Jason Garrett was never the Head Coach for Princeton. Steve Tosches was HC from 1987 - 1999.Second...Mike Tomlin has 13 years of coaching experience to Garrett's 2 years.Third...The Vikings were 5th in the league in Interceptions is '06 under Tomlin and 4th in Passing TDs allowed. In 2005 the Bucs were 2nd in passing TDs allowed under Tomlin. In 2003 they were 4th in Interceptions and 5th in passing TDs allowed. I could continue, but I think my point is made here.Fourth...The Dallas offense looked weak at times, with no variety in the play calling. On Saturday they looked almost stale.I think in the future Jason Garrett has the potential to be a good NFL Head Coach. T
The Baltimore Ravens are on the verge of hiring Cowboys Offensive Coordinator Jason Garrett. Garrett met with the Ravens brass again on Monday night. This was the second meeting between the young OC and the Ravens. Reports are coming in that Garrett could be announced as Head Coach as early as today. Now, my thoughts -Not to make MPSB(Mr. Perfect's Sports Blog) a Ravens blog, because it clearly is NOT, I want to comment on the last report.Jason Garrett? Are we serious here? 1 year as QB coach, 1 year as OC, and a pretty much horrible career as a player and that means you are Head Coaching material......I think not. The Ravens will be making a HUGE mistake if they hire Garrett before he has a chance to prove himself. They hired an "offensive genious" before, and we see how well that t

Today's interview is with one of the members of Northern California's #2 ranked cross country team, Woodcreek's Garrett Seawell. After a solid Track and Field sophomore season, Seawell has really come into his own this fall winning his first ever high school cross country races. That is no small feat considering his teammate, Chris Romo, was ranked 21st on Dyestatcal's CIF-State Preseason Cross-Country California Boys "Fab 40". With a solid five, Woodcreek was ranked 3rd. in the latest Division II state rankings behind nationally ranked Loyola and Ventura. This could indeed by a very special season for the Roseville school.Thank you to Garrett for giving us a perspective from the San Joaquin Section, one of the strongest sections in California.1) How did you get your start in running cross country? The pe teachers in middle school told me to run so i tried it and started winning races without going to any practices (I was playing football lol).2) What sports have you played or

Is this a filler post? Maybe. But I couldn't NOT tell you about the lovely thing we did with Garrett's Salted Caramel Sauce!
I try to only bring into our home things I'm comfortable eating - so this means less chips/snacks and more fruits and veggies and granola. My one (very strong) vice is ice cream... so I try to keep a steady supply of Skinny Cow brand ice cream sandwiches in the freezer...
Despite it being 90+ degrees outside, it felt like a crisp fall day in my kitchen last Sunday. Why? I had football on the kitchen radio and I was peeling apples. Seriously, what could be better? I distinctly remember thinking, as I was peeling away, with the smell of apples in my nose, that this feels like Fall. Mind you, I am neither of those people that hold on to Summer or embrace Fall once
As if we weren't full yet, we had to pick up and take home a tin of this.Garrett Popcorn is the famous popcorn that originated in Chicago and has been there since 1949. It was just here in N YC almost a year ago. I just love their Caramel Crisp. It's my favorite flavor. So yummy! It was indeed a beautiful way to end a beautiful Saturday...
mmm, Zucchini cupcakes with cream cheese icing. You could have pretty much put anything in front of "...cream cheese icing" and I would still probably drool. I have been wanting to make these cupcakes for a long time. The recipe is from Garrett of the world famous blog VanillaGarlic. The Chubby Cheeks Girls (Michelle & Linda) also baked Garrett's cupcakes earlier this week but were unable to photograph them. They raved about them and that was it, I was going to bake zucchini cupcakes! The cupcakes were excellent, they were very reminiscent of a spice cake. I used a mini-cupcake pan instead of a reg. muffin pan. I also ended up sprinkling a little coconut on top, that I had leftover from another cupcake recipe. The mini zucchini cupcakes and I enjoyed the morning reading my criminal evidence book and sipping on espresso. Thanks for a great recipe Garrett!P.S. Sorry for the glare on the photos, but you would not believe how hard it is to photograph white icing. I will definitely try to

After a little racist remark last week with a black photographer, where Brad Garrett said to the man,”I didn’t know there were black people in Malibu. Go back to where you came from,” he manhandled a photographer from TMZ. However, this photographer from TMZ was not harrassing Brad about the racial remark, it was the same guy that Brad told to go back to where he came from that was questioning him. Only Brad took out his anger on the wrong guy. Oops for Brad.
Brad Garrett is probably pretty intimidating to many people because he is like 6′8” and could probably pick someone up from the top of their head with one hand.
Well, it was good weekend for O's fans as the team took 3 of 4 from the struggling White Sox, and saw a glimpse of perhaps the future of the Orioles as Garrett Olson won his first major league in a solid start on Sunday. The O's won last night 5-3 for their third straight win, and I covered the game for Oriole Magic! yesterdayPictures, etc. will be coming in a bit.The O's start a series in Seattle tonight into Wednesday.***First of all, the team held a "State of the Orioles" meeting yesterday at the stadium for season ticket holders. Dave Steele of the Baltimore Sun has an article on the event yesterday morning and all in all, manager Dave Trembley and Andy MacPhail came off very good to the fans yesterday and handled themselves with confidence.Second of all, I’ll give the front office and the organization credit; as much criticizing, moaning, griping and complaining we do with the Orioles, they at least took the initiative to hear fans out. Furthermore, MacPhail and Dave Trembley

Remember the kerfuffle when Dubya allegedly said "I trust God speaks through me. Without that I couldn't do my job"? Of course most readers with a modicum of sense will know he never said any such thing. The claim was made by a git called Jack Brubaker, who later used classic politician speak [...]
Announcing the release of net.tv an art browser (browser as art work) by Garrett Lynch:
http://www.asquare.org/project/net-tv/
---------------------------------------------------------------
Net.tv is a cross between a browser and a streaming media player designed to view the internet as it really is, code or more specifically markup, not a series of web pages designed under a print metaphor.
It makes no attempt to interpret the code into an organised layout as do conventional browsers, instead it displays the code as an audio-visual stream of indeterminate length.
Why reduce the internet to an audio-visual stream?
Simply to provoke thought around our use and consumption of different media, linear push media such as television and non-linear interactive pull media such as websites, which have been converging for sometime now.
Net.tv's purpose is to highlight the way we as users continually construct self made narratives when we use the internet through choices based on
Photo by: Garrett EllwoodIVERSON AND THE NUGGETS LOSE IN DENVER! Allen Iverson made his long anticipated premiere as a Denver Nugget. The Nuggets didn't win in a close game to the Kings 101-96. Allen did have a great game with 22 points and 10 assists in 39 minutes on nine of 15 shooting from the field. Iverson established himself well and he came in and passed the ball in first half. In the third quarter it was his time to score with 12 points in the quarter. The last quarter the Kings were great. Salmons helped out with a triple double 21 points, 10 assists and 11 boards in 40 minutes. I think moving from the Sixers is what he needed. This system seems to fit his style and he can get good minutes. Be sure to watch the LA Lakers go to Miami and play the Heat at 2:30 Eastern on ABC! Christmas day! GO NUGGETS!
