I just cannot live without it, me and my Garmin Forerunner 301 has been spending most of all my training hours together. We cannot be separated during training. Just when you thought Garmin had cornered the market on powerful, affordable, and effective wrist-mounted GPS devices, here comes the Forerunner 205. The release of this device is a major achievement from a design and technology perspective. This isn't just marketing-speak; the Forerunner 205 is the most accurate, most reliable wrist-mounted performance and GPS tracking tool we've ever tested.
Gone are the days when going for a run meant chucking on a pair of Green Flash trainers and running until you were sick (yes those school cross country competitions have etched a deep scar in my psyche). It’s now all about using the technology and it doesn’t get much more state of the art [...]

great and most powerful tool
I love it. I have it for 2 weeks, did more than 12 workouts (even used it in my car to measure distances - for 80miles driving the difference between the car's odometer and the forerunner was less than a half mile.
The watch (or the computer) is great. It has so many advantages than the Polar. For this price is more than perfect. And so far is the best tool on market
Awesome device for marathon runners This is a great device. I was shocked by how well it works and all it can do. I no longer have to run on pre-planned routes to keep track of my mileage. I don't have to worry about pace or distance in races that don't have mile markers. All this information is on the watchface and can be uploaded to my computer and permanently stored at the touch of a button. It also keeps track of calories burned and shows your routes in gps format on the computer. It is extremely user-friendly. The only drawback is the size. I have a small wrist and it is kind of heavy. Definitely worth its weight though. I'm sure Garmin is working on this aspect for future models. If there is a distance runner on your X-mas list--this is the ultimate gift. The release of this device is a major achievement from a design and technology perspective. This isn't just marketing-speak; the Forerunner 205 is the most accurate, most reliable wrist-mounted performance and GPS tracking tool we've ever tested. Yes, it's that good. While no device this compact can do everything (yet), the 205 pushes the boundaries of what is possible from something strapped around your wrist. While the 205 doesn't offer heart rate monitoring, or connectivity with Garmin's wireless speed and cadence sensor -- for that, you'll need to step up to the Forerunner 305 -- but it's a great way to get basic GPS location and performance data.
Garmin just announced its Forerunner 50, slimming down its form factor to more like a watch, but losing GPS in the process. All is not lost, though, because there's a motion-activated foot pod sensor that records your mileage and speed. Let's hope it's more accurate than Apple's badly flawed Nike+ iPod system, which can't tell the difference between two miles and four. There's also a heart rate monitor that looks exactly the same as the one included with Garmin's superb Forerunner 305 GPS-based sports watch. The Forerunner 50's heart rate, mileage and speed data can be uploaded to your PC via the Garmin USB ANT Stick, using a low-power wireless protocol called ANT+Sport, the same used in the Nike+ iPod. The coolness continues when that data is sent up to Garmin's online training site, letting you keep track of each workout and share with your friends and competitors. Sounds a whole lot like Nike's idea, but let's just hope it works a little better. The entire package with the
Following on from the previously featured Ultimate Surfers Watch we posted about some days ago, this Forerunner 205 GPS Receiver Watch is aimed squarely at those undertaking a fitness regime with...

Hi, finally I bought Forerunner 305. Before I was user of Polar, but I was missing distance feature, so I switched to Garmin. I’m middle age male in average physical condition (pure amateur).
Installation on PC was fast and easy(MS WinXP). After installation, check Garmin website, I found newer USB drivers and newer version of their Garmin Training Center® software. Menus on device are very good (three different) and they are fully configurable with parameters that you want (also level of details). Other screen are GPS signal, map etc. Your profile could be updated with age, weight, heart zones, more or less it can be full personalized. I installed client for MotionBased, you can use same user as for myGarmin.
And then , heavy rain for last two days and I can’t run …
I’ll continue to write about my usage of this nice device.
I now I’m sick
