Why aren't we doing something about this? Who/what is to blame? Well, for starters, plastic. Plastic is believed to constitute 90 per cent of all garbage floating in the oceans. And there are garbage patches in most of the world's other oceans too. The UN Environment Programme estimated in 2006 that every square mile of ocean contains 46,000 pieces of floating plastic.

One woman had her daughter clean her room. The daughter did it and proudly filled 2 huge garbage bags full of what she considered to be trash. The mom went and checked to see what her daughter had thrown away. Out of curiosity. She was shocked to find new tubes of suntan lotion, picture frames, clothing, new makeup, hair curlers, and more perfectly good items. Her daughter did not realize that just because the items were of no use to her, that they might be good use to someone else. The mom talked to her daughter and then listed the items on ebay and made an easy $35.00! REMEMBER: ~~ ONE MAN'S JUNK IS ANOTHER MAN'S TREASURE!
Don't you hate it when you are in the supermarket and in a split second before you can say "no bags please" they have your bags wrapped inside other bags inside other bags and only put a couple of items in each bag? Sometimes I feel like I come home with more plastic than I do product! I try to recycle as much as possible at home however I feel like we can always do more. In Europe this is this is almost a reality with everyone brining their own bags which has started to take off in New Zealand. In Germany I believe if you need something from the deli you just bring your container and get them to fill it for you. Cool huh. My wife is an accredited teacher and not a memeber of the NEA! We chose to send our children to a private Christian based school over homeschooling. I am however suprised by people who never finished high school homeschooling their children. People need to be realistic about the level of education they can offer their children. Huckabee 08!
During this time of year we have many vendors that come in with their lines of jewelry they would love us to buy from. We have to take our time to sift through the garbage that some of these vendors are calling jewelry, this is a daily thing at this time of year. Some come into the store they open up their little bags and start showing diamond earrings that I have been seeing for the past 3 to 4 years the same old same old. I even had one vendor coming in with designs I had in my store when I first opened.
Some of these vendors have been with us for years, and know very well what we have in our store what we demand from them for our clients, and still they want to bring this tired old junk. I don't even think about the fact that the New Orleans West Bank is a sub-tropical environment. Having been born and raised here, it's normal for me to weed the garden at least 9 months out of the year. Have your heard of bidegradable garbage bag?
I just come across this kind of environmental friendly garbage bag last week when i was doing my household shopping. The prices is a little expensive then the normal garbage bag we seen in the super market.
