There's no dancing in WAR Inserito originariamente da Abriael Tim Edwards of PC Gamer (seemingly a pretty uninformed WoW fanboy) posted a quite colorful whine about the fact (that he passed as breaking news, while it's been known almost since the beginning of WAR's development) that there will be no dancing in Warhammer Online. Well, Sorry Tim. Warhammer online is about war. A meaningful war. It's not about silly looking night evles with lightbulbs in their eyes dancing the macarena. It's been a known fact since before the age of Adam and Eve, and guess what. Most of the Warhammer fans wholeheartedly approve. If you were looking for the next WoW in Warhammer Online, then you might as well look elsewhere. Next whiner please!

The other day I noticed a green book with Mario and Master Chief prominently displayed on the cover. Now obviously it is not every day that you see video game characters adorning the front cover of a book in a bookshop so I went to invesitage.Upon closer inspection I realized that it was the Guinness World Records Gamers Edition 2008. It also includes a summary of the key events of the video gaming year and features reviews of new releases, new consoles and major tournaments. Game

Here we have a contemporary statement in Young love....of each other and certain pastimes that our culture is quite focused upon...Of course what young man under 30 hasn't played his share of video games?...and this groom loves to play Halo on his xbox....and rooting for the New York Yankees...While this beautiful blonde fashionista bride's idea of a good time may be to cruise through Prada, Gucci or Nordstroms looking for the latest fashions.... Of course you do realize that even at the most exclusive clothing botiques and stores ... a Versasce shirt wasn't maybe by Versasce himeself.... and Louis Vuitton didn't make that purse....but you can be sure that the hand made original wedding cake topper that you commission will be entirely sculpted and created by Hunter Vaughan and his son Jupi

MyRacer MF101 PMP GamerTo say we’ve posted about quite a few PMP gamers here is an understatement. Korea’s MyRacer comes in the wake of not only the PSPs and the DSs of Japan but the numerous emulators that, with few reservations, are every bit as competent during game play as the big brands. Heck one of them even uses the clean, unlimited power of the sun for your peace of mind. What hits you about the MF101 immediately is the multi-directional keys on both sides of the 2.4-inch screen. It’s more cleanly designed than this functional gadget from Shenzhen. It plays Adobe Flash games especially from sites like Play4U or Com2uS as well as all the music and video formats that is popularly used nowadays. It’s Chinese cheap at only $104 for the 1GB gamer.(Via PMP Today.)

*A 33-year-old Russian gamer from the city of Ufa was killed by a member of a rival online clan after virtual violence provoked a fatal real-life scrap, Russia Today reports. The victim, named only as Albert, was a member of the "Platanium" clan in the unreported game (possibly Lineage II). His group was mostly made up of experienced gamers over 30, and at the end of December had a bit of an online rumble with the tastefully-entitled Coo-clocks clan - mainly students in their twenties - in which one of the latter was apparently killed. This led to an arranged meet in the real world, during which "Albert was badly beaten and died from his injuries on the way to hospital".The 22-year-old alleged assailant has apparently shown no remorse, and refused to justify his actions. Posted by:KalHaving 2007 recently come to a close, I searched the internet gazed into the future to see the upcoming games for 2008. I was rather impressed by the creative games of 2007, but the anticipation for the new 2008 strikes me harder than I ever thought possible. So with that in mind, I created a list of 10 games that strike my fancy (or the fancy of others) and I’m sure that they will interest you as well. 10. Will Wright is probably one my favorite game designers geniuses of our time…at least I think he is a genius. But with games like The Sims and SimCity, who would doubt that claim. His success is shown by the popularity of the games he designs and Spore will not be out of that loop. Though Spore is still TBA and there is no guarantee that it will be released in 20
Posted by:KalBlood, swords, death…*sniff* *sniff* Smells like Soul Calibur to me! That’s right gamers; Namco has just released news about their upcoming sequel to their famous Soul Calibur franchise. Soul Caliber IV will be hitting stores sometime in summer ’08. Sadly, the Wii will be excluded from the usual trio, but that’s alright because Namco has already released a Wii Soul Calibur game called Soul Calibur Legends. The most exciting news about the upcoming Soul Calibur game is, of course, the new characters. And when I mean exciting, I mean it. Namco released that there will be an exclusive character with each game console (as in 360 and PS3) and they should be characters that we all know about. Bundled with the 360, Yoda will be busting moves like there is no tomor
Posted by:KalThe film 300 was, by far, one of the greatest, if not only, Greco-roman themed film of 2007. Not even a year later, somebody has to make some kind of crappy parody about God-knows what, to feed off 300’s money wagon. And let it be the team who created Epic Movie, to parasitically nourish itself off of 300’s success. That’s right; Meet the Spartans will be hitting theaters at the end of January. Hopefully without a bang…we wouldn’t want viewers to have seizures while watching the movie, would we? There is a bit of negativity in my tone when writing about Meet the Spartans. I mean, they “steal” a perfectly alright movie and then completely mock everything the movie was about. However, that’s really not what makes me angry, it’s the fact that people will actu
Posted by:MaxxYeah this is my first post on this blog (I'm a new person around here besides Kal, if ya didn't know). So I figured why not break the ice with my review of my current addiction/obsession, .hack//GU. And just to let you know, my review for it is different than the ones in magazines and websites. .Hack is a rather popular hit, in games, anime and manga. The basic back story is about this HUGE MMORPG called "The World" (And when I say huge, I mean it's like every kid and their dad playing). "The World" did have its problems; problems that are by far worse than a crashed server. For you see, data anomalies infected the monsters, making them un-killable. And that's not the worse part, for you see if you get killed by an infected monster, you become comatose. In the first s

Well, Nintendo is at it again with another one of their famous Mario Kart games, however, this time it’s more interactive and you guessed it, it’s for the Wii. Currently, the game is projected to be released by spring 2008 and I am more than ecstatic. Like Mario Karts predecessors, Mario Kart Wii will have a single driver against a gang of opponents (unlike Double Dash). It will include various tracks from the past games such as Yoshi Falls and Dk Mountain and will support Nintendo WiFi c

Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Square Enix doesn’t make sequels for Final Fantasy; they are totally different games with different stories.” And of course, that statement is true (other than FFX-2, which I try to forget about); however, that statement will be false, in a few months, when the sequel for Final Fantasy IV comes out in Japan. The story takes place 17 years after the original (or the DS version) and will center on a young man named Ceodore (son of Ceril Harvey and Rosa Farrell-the protagonists of the original Final Fantasy IV). Most of the other details have been left out by Square Enix and true fans of Final Fantasy will have to keep ch

By: Noel Fox Laptops have fast become the computer of choice for people all over the world, not only are laptops more compact when compared to a desktop computer, they also have the added advantage of mobility that a regular desktop computer does not offer. Laptops have been around for quite some time now, and the refurbished laptops market is flourishing as people don’t mind buying a refurbished laptop rather than buy a new computer. If you are also looking to be the proud owner of a laptop by buying a refurbished laptop then here are few tips that should help you make a more informed choice:1) Always check to see the date of purchase of the laptop, it is important to know how long ago the laptop was purchased. Usually as rule of thumb hardware becomes obsolete every 5 years, so if you are looking for a laptop make sure it’s not older than 5 years. A laptop more than 5 years old will probably have obsolete hardware, and will be prone to more problems. Not to mention it mig

This video will tell you everything you need to know about the equipment you should be using when you play online. My favorite is the regenerator ;)

Budget, pace yourself and most of all don't panic! Yeah right, it is that time of year when credit cards expand, leave is finally an option and there are a ton of AAA titles begging for your attention. How is one to cope with all the pressure I ask? First you need to figure out what to buy and go through all the usual nonsense of am I getting a good deal and can I get my hands on a review copy (do these actually exist?). This is exacerbated by the quality of the titles out at present whereby the cost is a mute point and you start looking at paying a premium to have it couriered within the hour. Sure it is great if you can walk into a retail outlet, sniff the shrink-wrap, cradle the sucker in your arms and make a bee line for the cashier... however in South Africa things are slightly different. Here it is all about planning and patience. If you want a title anywhere around the actual launch date you need to purchase online and have it shipped. The retail outlets are slowly improving

Video games have come a far way over the years. While reminiscing I dont need to go back too far to be amazed by the tremendous growth and transformation the gaming industry has gone through in the last 10-15 years.
Information overload
Currently we have a vibrant industry with different genres, platforms and games to choose from it can be overwhelming at times. Not long ago I used to be have to wait for months on end to play a special game and many of the games I was playing were many months sometimes many years old but I was just being introduced to them. Now with advances in gaming and in technology in general I find myself right in the know on any video game I am excited about, getting daily updates for a game like Super Smash Bros Brawl and even following developer diaries of games like Call of Duty 4 and Assassins Creed. Now there is barely any wait, as whenever a game is released if I want to I can be playing it a matter of days, not weeks or months like previous years.

Gametrailers has posted a great interview from Capcom Gamer's Day. Of particular interest to fans of Street Fighter happens to be the first section where Christian Svensson speaks about the direction the game is taking and its relationship with the trailer. The comments about paying close attention to the teaser seems to me to imply that the trailer is more than just a thrown together hype piece and far more reflective on the style of game they are going for than what was originally thought. To me (and I may just be reading too much into this), I would almost go so far as to say that it almost confirms that the game is going to be built out of the same cel-shaded 3D polygons that were featured in the teaser - especially since the comments come immediately after the question about whether the game is 2D or 3D...I could live with that, if that's the case. I would love a sprite based fighter, but if the game can stylistically be as engaging as the trailer I'll be happy. Puri
The stereotypical image that most people have of gamers is either a plump and pasty teenage boy surrounded by empty Mountain Dew cans or the image of a plump and pasty middle aged guy who lives with his mom. [I’m not talking about you of course]
Slowly, but surely, this stereotype is being turned on its head.
Not only are chicks now playing games at an increased rate, some of those chicks are Moms. [gasp!]
Heck, I’m one of them.
With the advent of the Wii and the industry’s increased focus on casual gaming, even the most “normal” mom can delve into the world of video games.
But, don’t despair, dear reader.
Some moms are as “hard core” as the next pimply teenager.
There’s just something about being able to pick up my PS3 controller and forget about being a mom for hours a second.
[Thank God for understanding husbands.]
So, while the gaming demographic hasn’t radically changed, it’s definitely becoming more diverse.

You know Linux will handle all your web browsing needs, your e-mail, your office apps. But when it comes to gaming, what do you do?If you’re a hard-core gamer are you stuck in a Windows world, or the netherworld of dual-booting?Fear not: Linux can play hard and here’s how to get going.Firstly, by “gaming” we’re talking about shoot-em-up, space-sim, fun bleeding-edge action and adventure. Forget Solitaire, Freecell and Purble Place: there’s no end of card games and even cutesy Kill Bill (Gates) amusements. Linux users are well catered for herein that regard. Spare a thought for the person who has committed to switching platform. They fire up Ubuntu and then think “What now?”Not to worry! Linux is happy to oblige, with several options. The best route is out-and-out straight Linux versions of games. Other options are virtualisation and emulation.Linux portsSome vendors are more Linux-friendly than others: id Software has long been known for its Linux leanings. You can easi

Yep you read it right, we have just launched: LifeTime Gamer Video!... We could have just added a Video Section to LifeTime Gamer Arcade, but with all the games we intend to add plus over 13,000 Video's we have in the Video Database I figured the site would get bogged down with traffic and start to slow down and I want our visitors to have the fastest loading times and enjoy both sites...LifeTime Gamer Video also updates every night so there are new video's to watch each day and you can do a browser refresh and see new ones displayed all the time... Check out the categories at the top to see all the video's on the site...So what are you waiting for???, get over to: LifeTime Gamer Video! and enjoy yourself's but don't forget to also stop by LifeTime Gamer Arcade, as we have added a ton more

Gametrailers.com has posted some great footage of Commando 3 as part of their Capcom Gamer's Day media blow-out. The series which began in the arcades is now making its way to the Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network featuring 3 player co-op play, online leaderboards, and an old school action that is highly reminiscent of the original Commando and its sequel Mercs. The game is on set for a release later this year and is being developed by Backbone Entertainment.
So, I was browsing Gametrailers not too long ago and I noticed that they too have joined in on the countdown bandwagon for Capcom's upcoming Gamer's Day. The banner itself excited me for one reason - all of the characters shown on the banner are Street Fighter characters."What are the odds that Gametrailers is hinting at something?" - I thought. So like any person, I naturally click on the banner to see what they might have teased for the event.Where do I end up?Gametrailers I salute you... That was genius.[Update] It seems that someone in Gametrailers web development probably found their little "goof-up" and fixed it. Clicking on the Capcom Gamer's Day banner now just simply redirects you back to the Gametrailers home page. I'm sure Heartbreak Kid's Official Movie site is going to be a bit disappointed without the extra clicks, but alas, it was fun while it lasted.
