So this is my little homage to Andy Gilmore and his designs. His are obviously better and a lot more intricate, but I thought mine turned out pretty well. Click on the images to bring up the bigger size and tell me what you think.

As of late you can't find a design or art blog without some sort of mention of New York based artist and illustrator Andy Gilmore. He has been a fantastic source of inspiration to me lately, and he has definitely put me on a bit more of a retro and more colorful path in my artwork. Not exactly breaking news, but it should have been noted before: Jim Gilmore dropped out of the GOP race. Gilmore has posted only the briefest of explanations on his website, indicating an inability to compete based on the scheduling and fundraising demands of the race. In fact, Gilmore had never had any appreciable impact on the polling numbers, and never really did much to distinguish himself from the other social conservatives in the bottom tier of the Republican race. Gilmore's departure will enable both of his hard-core supporters to gravitate towards a different social conservative in the second tier.

ARTIS GILMORE BACK TO PLAY IN THE ABA!The A Train Artis Gilmore will play basketball once again! Back to where he started in the ABA with the Jacksonville Jam! As a Jacksonville resident this is a smart place to play for him. Someone recently asked on the Forum why I hadn't added former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating and former Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore to the Republican side of my Rankings. The answer is that I haven't got around to it yet. However, I might add that I don't feel any huge urgency about the task. I don't really think either of Messrs Keating or Gilmore is going to make a serious impression on this election campaign, so it's mostly a case of where in the bottom of the pile they go. This is, of course, terribly unfair - as many a Keating or Gilmore fan will seek to impress on me, I have no doubt. They each have distinguished careers and are arguably every but as qualified to be President as any Tommy Tompson, Mark Warner or Tom Vilsack.
