I went to Dirty Canvas last night for the launch party of their label. Lee Brasco, Dirty Danger, Purple, Badness, Jammer, Neckle Camp, Ras Kwame and Terror Danjah were all there but the highlight for me was D Double E's new hat. It was incredible. Think a little mink Liza Minnelli number meets something Dot Cotton might have been wearing in the 80s and you will get the picture. Towards the end of the night, Jammer and Badness did a PA of the next release on No Hats No Hoods which was produced by Silverlink. I can't remember what it was like - I was too mesmerised by the hat. Just after I left I heard Jammer and co. were hanging out playing music in their car and smoking across the road from the venue when some police rolled up and searched the car, but it was all bless in the end innit.This is my new favourite drink. I only discovered it the other day but it's pretty amazing. It's like a cross between Lilt and Rubicon Passion.

I few hours ago I came home to find that you had passed on from this world. Though you had been sick for the past few months you still managed to greet me every morning with your amusing chatter and whistles. Everyday, including today, you looked at me with those sparkling reddish eyes and fluffy face which always left me in such a good mood. Though we have known each other for a few short years it almost seems a life time that we've enjoyed each other's company whether it be watching t.v., reading a book, or eating our favorite ice cream sundaes (though you preferred mini yogurt treats). I've known for the past 2 months, since you were diagnosed with cancer, that our time together was short but that doesn't really make it easier for me when looking at the corner of my room where you lived. Super Furry Animals will bring more of their experimental melodic rock on Hey Venus!, which comes out on Aug. 28 through Rough Trade. Frontman Gruff Rhys recently told NME.com that the album has a narrative that revolves around a smalltown character named Venus who moves to the big city. The first single from the 11-track LP is "Show Your Hand." A few songs that didn't make it on to Hey Venus! will likely be included on the group's next record, which they're already working on. The Welsh band formed in Cardiff in 1993 and have released seven studio albums. The last one, Love Kraft, came out in 2005. Since then, Rhys has teamed up with rapper Boom Bip on a project called Neon Neon and released a second solo album called Candylion early this year. Thought I'd post some pictures of my furry baby collection. Just because.This is my australian cattle dog/hound mix, Piffy (short for Epiphany). She's 7. We got her from a border collie rescue mission that saved her from euthanasia when she was 2. She had been stray before that and was very, very skinny. She's not so skinny anymore. If you're a regular reader of my blog, you may remember we adopted an abandoned cat in July. This is Cairo.
