Funny signs at an `eloping’ center
See what a missing letter can do to a sign! I don’t need to tell you where I got this sign, right? My “funny signs” instinct got the better of me, so I read the other signs at the “eloping” center and noticed this most-often-but-ungrammatical use of the word layout. Notice what’s wrong with the word? The correct [...]

      Photo Hunters - Unique/Funny Signs
I seem to have a penchant for photographing signs, so I had lots to choose from this week. I took this picture of this "Bad Dog!" sign along the Cliff Walk in Newport Rhode, Island this month. Now, what I can't figure out is if the bad dog is inside the fence and will rip you to shreds if you get past the barbed wire. Or if the dogs you are walking are bad if they get too close to the fence. Or if you are a bad dog for thinking about trespassing. We often call our kids "bad kitties" when they misbehave so maybe that's what they meant. And they made about 20 of these signs to put around this fence. Bad Dog!This tsunami sign was in Dana Point, California. Thankfully, my hotel was right next to this sign so my company put me up safely. There were plenty of hotels and restaurants situ

Leche plan and other funny signs
My trip to a popular mall in Marikina City last April 14 resulted in yet another harvest of funny signs. My decision to start taking pictures around the mall using my camera phone (I know: It’s only a Nokia 6070, but it gets the job done!) was prompted by this sign I saw after buying a [...]

      Funny signs in Cubao
For this installment of funny signs, let’s differentiate between the not-so-obvious errors and the glaring ones. Arriving earlier than expected at a bus station in Cubao yesterday (April 10), a relative who was scheduled to take the night trip to Bicol went with me to a popular mall. But before going there, I can’t help but [...]

Funny signs from recent out-of-town trips
As promised, here are some funny signs from my recent out-of-town trips. Let’s start from a province that’s about an hour’s drive away from our house in Marikina. I was invited to conduct a writing workshop for high school campus journalists, and the activity was held at a recently opened resort. My wife and I noticed [...]

      Funny signs at a supermarket
It starts with a snicker and ends with a finger. While there’s nothing ungrammatical about this installment of funny signs, sometimes it makes you wonder what’s on the mind of those who thought about these brand names which my wife and I found while buying food at a popular supermarket. I can understand that chocolates can [...]

      Funny Signs
I love funny signs as much as I love my kidneys. In case you’re wondering how much I love my kidneys, well, I love them a lot. More than my spleen anyway. Someone alerted me to these beauties below and I’m sharing them with you. Hopefully they’ll chase your Monday blues away. My Monday blues [...]

Funny signs related to the NBN scandal
For this installment of funny signs, allow me to be socially relevant. If you’ve been reading my most recent articles published in Pinoy Weekly, you may have noticed that I’ve been writing lately about the controversial national broadband network (NBN) project. So don’t be surprised if our cast of characters today are familiar faces (provided [...]

`Not an Exit’ and other funny signs
The feedback may not be as overwhelming as I expected, what with the preoccupation with Christmas festivities and all, but I would like to give you a second installment of my “Funny Signs” project. Noelle de Guzman was kind enough to provide URLs of some funny signs she took and which she uploaded on her Flickr account. (Irrelevant-and-bordering-on-the-irreverent trivia: Noelle holds the distinction of being my first-ever master’s thesis advisee. Did I do a good job? Just ask her!) Anyway, let’s start with something predictable, especially if a product were made in China. Do you know the meaning of “mini lordliness”? Is there such a term? Is there a difference between a “love of house” and a “house of love”? I know, you have so many questions that have nothing to do with solving world hunger.Or something as simple as the horrendous traffic in Metro Manila. Then again, you can argue that this sign is meant to solve that. Tax

7 Funny Signs You Don’t See Everyday
We all need a break from work, whether it be blogging or crunching numbers, so our editors have decided to compile a list of funny signs you don’t see everyday. To start, the above sign wants you to know that there’s no diving allowed at the 0ft. depth. View them all after the break. The Claw Who doesn’t know about “The Claw”? Apparently, all cars must stop for those who possess it. Concrete Diving Nobody should be diving into a slab of concrete. So unless you’re looking to break a few bones or worse, this warning should be taken seriously. Helpdesk If only all helpdesks were this helpful, the world would be a better place, or just full of people running around on fire. Seriously… Don’t you hate it when people just find the need to bang on every fence? Beware of Suitcase We’ve all seen it: businessman walking around with suitcase, gives unsuspecting toddler a face full of leather. Like, “Whoa Stop” Just in case you don’t see
