Second, some older mobile phones have little value because they are obsolete, not in good condition, the batteries won't hold a charge, or won't turn on at all. So, an important point is that you need a company to work with that will at least pay something for every phone, not just the good ones. Third, you don't want to spend your own money shipping in the cell phones that you are recycling, so you need a company that provides prepaid boxes. Collies sometimes come to us matted and injured. Grooming is essential to get their skin and coats in good shape. A matted collie can have a lot of skin problems, and be very uncomfortable, even in pain, if the mats pull at his skin.   As I wrote about here, the New Hampshire GOP is going to have a fundraiser. What is the big deal with that? They were going to go to a fish and game club and fire machine guns. This wrankled state Democrats, naturally. The presidential candidates also decided to sit it out.    Now many weak kneed city and state Republicans are going to pass on it. A few raised moral objections, saying they would not support a fundraiser that packs a pro-gun message.   God forbid you are actually for the 2nd amendment. First meeting of just the new 2007-2008 PTA board, and we did what I thought was impossible..We will NOT be doing the god-awful wrapping paper/ugly vase/$18 per pound chocolate-covered peanut catalog fundraiser! Can I get a hell yeah!?? Luckily the officer in charge of fundraising is of the same mindset on this, and we had several alternatives to look into and vote on. We ended up instead deciding on selling coupon books for local restaurants. They are similar to the B1G1F coupons in the Entertainment books, but from a different company. Today was the annual Kiwanis Golf Tournament Fund-raiser held at Mare Island Golf Course at Mare Island in Solano County, CA.  This is the oldest golf course west of the Mississippi.  The efforts and contributions made today, helped to raise over $15,000.00 for local non-profit charities in and around Solano County. Four scholarships were given to Benicia High School students who had been selected by the Kiwanis based on certain criteria and accomplishments. These included, but were not limited to community service and events, GPA scores, and overall academic achievements.   Donations were also made to the "RELAY for LIFE" charity where funds are used to research and develop a cure for cancer.  This is a group on a mission. My mother and I attended the Michael Knight event in Atlanta (actually Norcross) GA last night. The event, which was a fundraiser for Cure Autism Now (C.A.N.) featured two other designers (unfortunately I don't have details about them), with Michael showing his collection last. He showed men's and women's clothing, new items and also some of the collection that appears on his website (clothing and swimsuits). The event was held at The Grape, a wine bar located in The Forum shops. Michael wore an appropriately grape-colored sweater (cute!!) with a hot-pink tie, jeans and a pink and purple belt. After the show, Michael auctioned off an original gown (also purple!), which he crafted for his PR Season 2 audition. The dress sold for $500.
