The best competitive weapon any company can have is its up-and-coming leaders. The Leadership Advantage shows companies what some exceptiona
In one of the strangest twists to a pretty much otherwise non-story, Phillip Fulmer denied ever receiving a subpoena this morning upon his arrival at SEC Media Days in interviews throughout the day, but it has just been reported that Fulmer has actually since "located" this non-existent document. Fulmer's attorney, Jeff Hagood, told the Knoxville News-Sentinel this afternoon "Phillip was getting o
Breaking news already this morning from SEC Media Days involving Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer, but not for the reasons you might think. Coach Fulmer has reportedly been served a subpoena to appear in court to testify in the ongoing libel suit filed against the NCAA by an Alabama booster.
As Phillip Fulmer arrived at SEC Media Days a few minutes ago he was given a present - a subpoena to appear at a deposition on September 25th regarding the case against the NCAA brought by University of Alabama booster Wendall Smith. News is quickly breaking from the Wynfrey Hotel here in Birmingham and I will try to update the story throughout the day. You can read the news that is known HERE
Tennessee football coach Phillip Fulmer gets a raise. He also gets a one-year contract extension through 2012.
He is currently making $2.05 million yearly and has received $1million in bonuses for remaining at Tennessee.
According to Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton, Fulmer and his staff did an exceptional job keeping their team focused.
Here is the audio from Coach Fulmer’s comments during the media day Saturday morning. It’s about 20 minutes long. He breaks down the outlook of the team and his thoughts on the newcomers position by position.

A couple other comments from Fulmer that were not part of that clip:
-Jonathan Heffney will return punts. Austin Rogers could also be used as he has some experience there.
-LaMarcus Coker will be the primary kick returner but there are a group of others that could work themselves into the mix.
-There will be a special package in place on offense for someone like Eric Berry, Gerald Jones or Lucas Taylor.
-The staff will simplify the offense enough to get some young guys on the field early. The guys who can make big plays will be on the field and Coach Fulmer does expect an impact from this freshman class.

According to a Jimmy Hyams, Phillip Fulmer makes too much money and Bruce Pearl doesn't make enough. That's right, Jimmy Hyams wrote it and and it surprises me. The numbers don't surprise me but the fact the fact that Hyams wrote it does.
As you all know, this is what I call, the “black hole of sports.” It is the awesome time in which there is such scant news and developments in the world of sports, that bloggers such as ourselves (although we use the term very loosely), are clamoring for any sort of off-season feature that will help pass the time.
So, we come to you, our dear reader with this plea: help us write crap or at least think of crap to write about.
Last year, our SEC Traditions was a pretty huge hit, with more than a few people thinking that our take on all the SEC Schools was serious and realistic. Just goes to show you what a large range of idiots fans there are in the Southeastern Conference.
We are trying to come up with new ideas for crap to write, but as can be evidenced by our writing, we aren’t very creative in the least. In fact, all of our ideas for stories have come from random words written out by our Alpha Bits cereal. Amazing, I know.
Without your support, we cannot con
After 14 Years as Head Coach of the Tennessee Volunteers, Phillip Fulmer unexpectedly retired and personally named David Cutcliffe to be his successor. Fulmer cited a previously undisclosed illness as the reason for his stepping down. Of even more surprise was that the battle the coach was fighting was with anorexia.
Image has always been an important aspect of Phil Fulmer’s life even though he would never admit it. Those closest to the coach have known about the problem for years, injecting him with a nutrient cocktail whilst he slept. The cocktail was said to have been made from liquefied cheeseburgers and University of Florida students.
Honestly, do I look fat in this?
The coach expects to check in to the same rehab facility as Britney Spears, citing it’s unbelievable track record in making Britney find the error of her ways and turning her back into a hot, international superstar.
Obviously, as far as April Fool’s jokes go, this was a pretty poor attempt at
News: What is the Fulmer Cup, you say? Well, the BloGods (re: Orson Swindle and Stranko Montana) over at EveryDayShouldBeSaturday.com created an annual event that takes us where the BCS Championship never could: A poll that tracks athletic-minded universities at what they do best: Collective arrests and societal transgressions on a scale you, the average-minded fantasy college sports fan, could not even imagine. Last year's winner was Marshall University (with special mention to Ellis T. Jones). The 2007 race has just begun.Fantasy College Impact: Why does this matter to you, the fantasy college team owner? Isn't it great when your starting QB is protected by a guy who finds the local college bar to be a better hangout than the assistant coach's video room? Don't you relish the thought of your #1 pick deciding that making money is really about making money? Don't you just loooove it when your future-QB-star-in-waiting took driving lessons from the University of Whirly Ball? Paying
Personally I think I should be shot for having taken as long as I have to shamelessly plug my good friend Jon and his cohort Don in their endeavor into the blogosphere. But, it might also be the fact that I'm also shamelessly unabashed about my lack of enthusiasm for sports (watching, not playing).
But all that said, I must say that Fulmer's Belly is one helluva good site for football fans of any sort. Best of all is that it's well written unlike the grammatically lacking (650 out of 800 on the SAT verbal section) midweekpost.
From their about page:
Don and Jon are casual football fans, and with the advent of the whole internet thingy, we've decided to put up this blog in order to get out the word on what we think is wrong this week, or even better, what's floating around in the veritable crystal ball of knowledge otherwise known as... [Fulmer's Belly]
Good job boys, keep the good word coming. [Link is now on the link roll menu to the right]
