Update: Moved to Full RSS/ATOM Feeds
I was having trouble getting WordPress to send full RSS/ATOM feeds in WordPress when using the <!–more–> tag and the Optional Excerpt feature. I just found the excellent Full Feed WordPress Plugin and that solved the problem. I’m writing another post about configuring WordPress that I will post later in the week. I want to upgrade some of the features on this blog before I post it.

      Full RSS feed is back
My one month experiment with a limited RSS Feed and not a full one has ended in disaster. I followed bad advice which said that offering a limited feed would get more of your RSS feed subscribers to visit the site directly than just reading your content through a feed reader, well judging from my feedburner stats exactly the opposite happened. So now I have re-enabled full feeds so if you have not already done so please subscribe to my RSS feed. What is a RSS Feed? Sites like CNET do this and it pisses me off and seeming I read these articles in a RSS Reader on my mobile phone while I am on the train I can not just click through. So only the BEST of the BEST articles get read by me - You know just the ones that stick out in me head later in the day.TechDirt as well as AtA use full RSS feeds because one we don't have ADs on our site as we are not about making $$$ and Two We are here to help our readers. These quotes from the above mentioned articles made us go YEAH! You go get em!...Techdirt, of course, offers full feeds and always has. This means that plenty of people who read this site absolutely never visit the site. We're fine with that for a variety of reasons (one of which being that our busin

Full RSS Site Feeds for better traffic
I have published my blog feeds through a number of publishers and a couple of them have now stipulated that full feeds, not partial feeds, are required. As an Adsense publisher I had thought a full feed would mean readers didn't need to visit the site so I would miss out on clicks. However the guys over at Feedburner, whose opinion I respect, advise there truncated feeds result in higher clickthroughs. Their advice is that good content rich feeds will cause your readers to subscribe and check out the comments. So I am sticking with full feeds.
