This is a camera for which I have been waiting with some interest for several months. Pitched at the higher end of the snapshot market with a price tag of ￡225, the FinePix F10 is a decent-looking and well-made camera with conventional and even rather pedestrian styling. Measuring 92 x 58.2 x 27.3mm it sits toward the larger end of the scale for modern zoom compacts, and at 155g it’s also surprisingly heavy for its size. It features a 2x optical zoom F2.8-5.0 lens, a 6.3 megapixel SuperCCD HR and a big 2.5in LCD monitor screen.

Having recently taken its long zoom cameras into ever more DSLR-like territory, Fuji’s S8000fd is something of a departure. The S8000fd places a smaller sensor behind a much longer-range zoom lens in a less SLR-like body. Going head to head with the Panasonic FZ18 and Olympus SP560UZ the S8000fd is Fuji’s most ambitious zoom compact to date. It is also the first long-zoom camera from Fuji to offer image stabilization (in this case a CCD-shake system), which is offered by most competing brands and is pretty much essential with a zoom this long.
The S8000fd packs an awful lot into its compact body, and seems to be trying pretty hard to be all things to all people, with manual exposure controls sitting alongside point-and-shoot convenience features such as face detection. There is a high-speed shooting mode (at reduced resolution), and some extremely high sensitivity modes (again at lower resolution), for shooting in low light

FujiFilm’s new FinePix F480 8 Megapixel compact digital camera has at last hit stores and, as can be expected with any new FinePix release, is causing quite a stir – but what exactly does FujiFilm’s new digital camera have on offer?
Announced back on 28 July of this year, the FinePix F480 sports the same metal body as the company’s more expensive F series stable-mates and is touted by FujiFilm as being an ‘easy to use all-rounder’ offering a ‘ quality feature set at an affordable price’.
The F480, which measures in at a mere 23mm in thickness, comes with a wide-angle 28-112mm x4 zoom lens, a 2.7” 230,000 resolution LCD with anti-glare coating as well as 10 pre-programmed scene modes ensuring that you spend your time snapping rather than fiddling with capture settings – and this is very much the appeal of the device.

We have added a new member to our family (camera), Panasonic Lumix LX2.
The reason I bought this LX2 because of 28mm, 16:9 ratio aspect, Range finder like :D.
Now yAu yAu took over Fujifilm Finepix F31fd.
After I have used LX2 for 1 week, I have identified some Pros and Cons for both cameras.
F31fd’s Pros:
1. Excellent high ISO quality. Used until ISO1600 also no problem.
2. Fast Operation.
3. Vibrant color.
4. Face detection.
5. Fast auto focus.
6. Clearer LCD - 230,000 pixels
7. Easier to find pouch for storage F31fd because the lens is in the body when power off.
F31fd’s Cons:
1. No 28mm wide angle.
2. No Image Stabilizer.
LX2’s Pros:
1. 28mm wide angle.
2. The photo more perspective with 16:9 ratio aspect.
3. Full manual control, similar to DSLR.
4. AE/A Lock.
5. 9 auto focus points - allow selective focus as well.
6. Auto-Bracketing - 3 photos from -2 to +2.
7. Allow capture in RAW format.
8. Flash power compensation.
9. Mega OIS works like a charm
According to a recent review over at PhotographyBLOG, our worst fear regarding the FinePix F50fd seems to be true. We’ve concluded that stuffing a 12-megapixel sensor this kind of digicam wasn’t exactly the most intelligent idea. It seems that in low-light conditions, the camera faltered mightily, and images captured are practically “unusable.” Aside from the “excellent face detection system” (which offers dramatic performance and capability improvements and adds innovative new features designed to turn everyday snaps into stunning portraits.) and the included aperture / shutter priority modes, there just wasn’t much here to fall in love with at this Fujifilm model.
