Today an agreement was announced by Wham-O, Inc., the legendary manufacturer of the Frisbee, Slip ‘N Slide, Hula Hoop and Hacky Sack (among many more fun and innovative toys known the world over) giving FOG Studios the exclusive rights to represent all Wham-O properties via a new multi-year agreement between the firms. What does this mean exactly? It means that we can expect future video games for PC, consoles, heldhelds and cell phones featuring Wham-O products. What’s most interesting is that FOG’s CEO directly mentions the Nintendo Wii as basically the reason that they thought going into an agreement with Wham-O was such a great idea, sighting how active video games have become and even mentioning both the Wii Fit balance board (where a Hoola Hoop game was demonstrated) and Dance Dance Revolution specifically. Wham-O is working alongside FOG studios, to bring it to a games console, but let’s face it the games system that it could really work on is the Wii. Theres no doubt that one of the absolute coolest parts of this trip is all the new things I get to try. One of the strangest sports Ive tried is probably iceblocking. The newest addition the the list is Frisbee golf, real Frisbee golf. Ive palyed with the real discs before earlier on this trip just in the backyard while in South Dakota. And I used to play with a regular Frisbee when I was a kid around my hard. But this was the real deal and a course through the woods. It was tricky! Ive got a lot to learn, but it was a lot of fun. A great way to spend the afternoon with some friends, and free! The park we were at here in Connecticut is one of the nicest parks Ive been to on the trip. There is a lot of good fun people can have without spending a lot of money. Id say its better than spending $50 out on the golf course. Just dont lose a disc in the woods. There are still many people who love to throw the Frisbee around, it is just amazing, how this just goes and goes, anyway this is a new take on the trusty Frisbee. The new Frisbee has had some LED illuminatin added to it, so that when the Frisbee is thrown it spins and this make the whole thing look like a mini UFO wizzing through the air, even with all this additional gadgetry the Frisbee still only weighs in at about 185 grams.
