American style fridge freezers are definitely becoming more and more popular especially as the price of fuel and the demands on people’s time has gone up so drastically over the years. Doing a fortnightly shop rather than a weekly is made possible by these huge fridge freezers.
I know, I have neglected our little bloggie a bit this week. We are all in football (soccer for our American furrends :-) mania and also I am working on 3 new blog designs. And once I have started I can never stop ;-)But neglecting the blog doesn't mean the cats are not funny anymore, they even seem to freak out more :-)1. Look at this picture. These are Chica's paws. And this is not a photograph

Sometimes? We're not so good with the 'portant papers.
Over the years, we've tried many systems to organize them and keep them where we can find them, but we always end up defaulting to The Pile on the Kitchen Counter&trade filing system.
Occasionally, I get a wild hair and I buy pretty containers and baskets for the Pile on the Kitchen Counter&trade, but someone usually comes along and dumps the contents and absconds with the basket.
We've tried folders and such, but it turns out that the "out of sight, out of mind" thing is not so good for the paying of the bills and the signing

Once you’ve watched this viral from Budweiser, you’ll want one too. The ad was originally flighted during the Superbowl in 2006, but has successfully transitioned to the Internet. It’s been viewed more than 290 thousand times on YouTube, which proves that the ad has some staying power (to be honest it makes me dream about a time when all TV ads could be as entertaining as this).
It’s funny, surprising, and has likeable characters who (I’m slightly ashamed to admit) I can easily relate to my own friends. One of the reasons for The Magic Fridge’s success is that it’s based on quite a universal idea: people appreciate free beer. Without giving too much away I’ll just say that I identify with the sentiment of the ad – and know quite well which side of the wall I’d be on. I’ll risk saying that most of you would be there with me, quietly wishing for your own Magic Fridge.

Fridge-freezer from Gorenje decorated with 7000 Swarovski crystals. A status symbol where you can cool your Krug champagne along with your black russian caviar. This high tech fridge has a touch-sreen containing a recipe book and radio. Only sold at Harrods to ridicolously high price. This Gorenje Fridge is probably the most expensive fridge on the market though it´s all for a good cause with all revenues aimed for charity. Only five has been produced so far so I´d say it´s a great investment.
What will you do when they come for your beer fridge?Denise Young, a researcher at the University of Alberta, wants beer drinkers to pull the plug on the ultimate luxury: the beer fridge. Environmentalists issued a report today that claims homes that use older refrigerators to keep beverages cold are contributing to global warming. The reason is older model refrigerators suck as much as 50 percent more energy when compared to modern units. Many North American households do not retire old refrigerators when newer units are purchased. Instead, the old units are placed in garages, basements or game rooms and given the new task of keeping a chilled supply of beer, soda, wine and bottled water at the ready. The study estimated that as many as 30 percent of homes have a second refrigerator. The University of Alberta study recommends that governments offer to buy back inefficient beer fridges. The researchers say that if beer drinkers gave up their beer fridges that enough energy would be saved
Do you bring your food to work? Do you keep it in the office fridge? Are you in a constant battle to get your food into a pint-sized fridge because others leave their food there for days on end? Here's an article I recently found on office fridge etiquette. Here's an excerpt on the article: Do not eat or drink foods that do not belong to you. Do not leave food in the refrigerator to rot and smell. If you brought it and didn’t eat it, throw it away. Do not leave foods uncovered. This is especially important when the food has a strong odor. Better yet, try not to bring foods that may have a strong odor such as garlic or onions. This is also good advice for your breath during the workday. If your container leaks or spills in the refrigerator, clean the spill. Do not rummage through your co-worker’s food to see what they brought or make comments about what they brought to eat." And
Dermatitis is an inflammation of the upper layers of the skin causing rash, blisters, scabbing, redness and swelling.
Whoever cannot sleep at night because of the itchiness caused by the dermatitis is advised by the specialists to recourse to… cold.
In the evening, before going to bed, put in the fridge, for about an hour, the pyjamas or the bedgown, and dress up immediately after taking the clothing out of the fridge.
The cold helps the organism to escape the cortisone hormone which produces the horrid itches. It is advisable to stay as calm as one can for the last two hours before going to bed.

You might have seen other appliances encrusted in diamonds like Diamond TV, but theres more. LG launched this diamond encrusted fridge into the market in a limited run of 200 units, released in the Taiwan market only. LG have brought home with its R-U719GWN three door fridge. At first glance it looks like a normal fridge with its usual high tech features such as an ice-maker and LCD but panel, but fridge's handle and logo are diamond studded with 4900 Swarovski crystals. So, you're not sat there thinking, "I hate my fridge. It's rubbish and it does what the man on the blog said. I want a new one. I've always liked the idea of...

All that you need to get is a “Savaplug” and all that you need to do is plug it in and your are ready to go and save some power. What it does is regulates the electricity, this because the fridge does when the motor runs it goes on full power, obviously this is not necessary so the “Savaplug” reduces the flow of electricity to the appliance.
It is estimated that the power saving could be as high as twenty per cent, surprisingly it works much better on older type fridges, however there are some compatibility issues with some types, so it might be a good idea to check first.
It comes with a ten year guarantee and is priced at $238.

If it does, you are certainly not alone.Eating in response to stress often causes us to make poor food choices which usually lead to overeating which eventually results in weight gain.Admittedly, this tends to really hit home for me. Even as a nutritionist I struggle with wanting something ooey, gooey and simply scumptious to eat when particularly stressed about something. We learn from an early age to associate food with comfort and love, feeling good. Special occasions and holiday celebrations often revolve around food. Its natural, then, when stressed to run to food seeking the comfort of something delicious to eat.Take a minute and think about some times in your life or situations where the amount of stress or distress that you were under caused you to over eat. So what to do? Well the answer really is to learn some other responses to stress that are not destructive to you, those that don't involve food. This isnt so easy and it will not happen overnight. Like anything
This happened when I fell asleep on the floor for five minutes. This was not the first time, either. For those of you that know me, you know I am a night owl. I cannot seem to get to bed before 12:30am and even if I do I would lay in bed while my mind races with anything and everything. So I am usually very tired in the mornings. So what does a mom like me do when this happens? Why I get the camera, of course! I know a lot of you can relate. There was a point where I had to put the camera down, though. But not before I took this shot:
It's been pointed out by my friends and family that I have a limited palette of facial expressions. I immediately thought of a cartoon board that had a bunch of exaggerated facial expressions. I was thinking about where I can get that on the internet. Then it hit me that what I was looking for was on my damn refrigerator. It was a magnet sticky thing, and it was dirty. Here's what it looked
Okay, so as I have explained, this week has been mad. Today, I have been running around trying to get my graduation forms and minor declaration forms signed. It is such a mission! You run from one side of the campus to the other and then back again (oh and then you forgot that you actually needed that other persons signature) so you run back…and they’ve already left for the day! and through all of this…I would have managed to wear my most uncomfortable shoes…the ones that dig into your foot leaving you hobbling around for the rest of the week!
So, I’m finally home… not quite relaxed, but ravenous for something to eat. And of course I’ve been too busy to shop for food (and you can’t rely on the men in your house to manage a quick pit stop into publix to stock up) (but somehow they manage to make their way to the golf course!). Any how, here I am, all I could find to eat was a 2 week old flax seed biscuit (which was not as tasty as it m

If you’re building a new kitchen you should be well aware of the spaces left over for your appliances, in particular the fridge.
Whilst other major kitchen appliances such as ovens, cooktops, dishwashers and sinks are taken care of by your kitchen designer, you might find that you want to go out and find the fridge yourself. It might be that your existing fridge is good enough for the job and you want to use it.
Fridge Sizes vary from brand to brand, model to model. There are no standard fridge sizes so you will have to work with the kitchen designer to leave enough room for your fridge without causing any problems. You don’t want it to be too big so that you find unattractive gaps either side of the fridge. The depth is what you should focus on, as a fridge that sticks out of the line can cause you many headache. Consider which side you want the fridge door to open and see if that will cause any issues.

Since Field Day, Its become more important for me to write this review, to set the record straight rather than just the usual "get it in quick" reasons. People have been complaining. A lot. I have seen people describe the day as abject misery, a fucking disgrace and other such slurs. Naturally the promoters, Eat Your Own Ears and Adventures In The Beetroot Fields have responded, though the argument has been weak the main response seeming to be yeah, but the bands were good. So it's about time there was a bit of an alternative opinion on this.
Arriving with plenty of time to get some cash and a drink, we amble over to the main stage to catch Caribou. It's an interesting set up, with the two drum kits facing each other and a guitarist / bassist in the far corner of the little raised plinth on which they all stand. It's as if they're set up for a duel, and that's exactly how things kick off, the two drummers seemingly locked into some kind of Vulcan mind-meld as

I admit that the previous LG cooler launched was not up to the mark. But this time LG flabbergasted us by launching the LG refrigerator, which is way too swanky to natty to handle. The mélange of Swarovski and LG is an epitome of expertise and skill due to perfection in their own respective arenas. To liven things up a bit, my next few posts are going to feature some you-tube videos to show you what’s out there in pop-culture regarding our favorite household appliance, the refrigerator. This one’s great.
A few months ago, a friend of mine sent me an email about a magical beer-launching refrigerator. I watched the video and it was awesome, so make sure to check this out.
The mini fridge keeps the contents cold. When you’re ready for a nice, cold one; you push a button on your remote control and the refrigerator launches a tasty beverage your way. I was really surprised by the accuracy. It’s as flawless as a Montana to Rice connection for a touchdown. This masterpiece was such a huge hit in the online video world that the creator was interviewed on The Tonight Show with David Letterman. At the of the interview, he launched a beer, caught it and the crowd went ballistic. It was very funny. Enjoy.

For those of you who just cannot get the good old Tetrius game from out of your head, then worry no more for this magnet set can bring back all those happy memories of playing the game on the original gameboy, (I am not giving my age away am I?) the one that had a vague resemblance to a house brick.
Now you can have a slower version of the game by moving the parts manually, it’s a lot easier that way.
Please note the name is Tetrius, it is not a typo it’s a legal thing.
The cost of the game is $11.

Perhaps this post is the result of the very same major mid life crises that has already seen me developing a silly school boy type crush for the opera singer Katherine Jenkins (I’m head over heels and its rather pathetic but curiously enlivening) and me wearing Bermuda shorts in public (no, scrub the last bit – things aren’t that bad) but I have spent several minutes staring at these fridge magnets and contemplating life (do fridge magnets do that to you too? I suspect not).
There’s just something about these chrome fridge magnets that really appeal though it comes to something when your fridge magnets look a damn sight more classy than the fridge they’re stuck to.
Absolutely beautiful - (and the fridge magnets are rather nice too).

The Tree House Fridge, a concept design created by Yanko Design - a company who boasts “Form Follows Function.” The form of this funny fridge caught lots of eyeballs, but it’s functionality is under intense scrutiny. According to Yanko,"it is a fridge design, combining with a tree branch shape storage system and several single fridges, which tried to bring the memory of tree house in our childhood to the kitchen in daily life. One fridge has holes and pattern on the door as a fruit shelf. People can pick up a fruit from a tree. Another is like a bird house. Doors can slide away when a hand is placed in front of it. It's funny how one can draw out an egg from a bird's nest. There is also a special device designed at the foot of the door, when people step on it, a wheel with small motor will slide the door open."More related:Lv Zhongfang Matchbox Concept Cellphone12 Unique Aurora Colour Changing Alarm Clock USB Mini Fridge Toyota i-unitYoko Matsugane - Japanese H Cup Idol Eraser
Never open a fridge in an abandoned HUD home. Never ever.
Trust me on this.
Don’t wonder why you should not open the fridge, just do not open the fridge. It is not a pirate treasure chest. It is not a time capsule. It is not a Swiss deposit box.
It is a fridge in an abandoned HUD home. Never forget that.
Don’t think to yourself “well how bad it could be”. It can be beyond bad. Transporting you to the corner of Horror and Revulsion during rush hour. It’s much worse than you can imagine. Worse than your memory will allow you to remember.
But if you simply must know…
Understand that what ever actions your body may take on opening that door, will be completely involuntary. Your body will do whatever your body decides it should do, with you as a mere passenger.
Told you I have.
Conflict I sense in you.

The MK140 Fridge Magnet from Ricavision is a Wi-Fi enabled electronic notepad that acts like a fridge magnet. Even if at first Sideshow seemed to do little for me, I now have to agree that people really started to imagine ways of using it. What’s coming next is Ricavision MK140: the fridge magnet, a device with a QVGA 3.5" touchscreen and wireless connectivity.

Last week, Sam over at Beck’s and Posh posed the question, “What does your unedited fridge look like?” I figured I’d take some pictures of the silver box and detail what is inside. While I generally don’t stock the sort of ingredients that Alice Q. or David Lebovitz does but here we go:
Starting with the door in no particular order:
Condiments, lots of boring American ones: ketchup, mustard, mayo, Japanese mayo, tabasco, worcestershire. A few Asian staples: mirin, sriracha, chili paste. Rounding it all out is milk, some water (tap, the best!), an opened bottle of wine, olives, capers, and cream.
On the top shelf there’s some cooked wheat berries, black beans, Trader Joe’s greek style yogurt, and some pita bread.
Pretty much the rest of the fridge is loaded with CSA fruits and veggies from Wednesday.
If you’re wondering what’s in the toothpaste tube, it is fancy dog treats.
At first the title makes no sens, but after I’ll tell you that’s what you should say if someone tries to open your LG Panorama LCS27990 fridge with integrated HDTV screen, while you’re watching Simpsons, then you might understand what I’m talking about. Refrigerators with integrated TV’s are not something new, but HDTV surely helps you keep the pace with modern technology.

Hello. My name is Kimberly. And I'm an overeater. In all seriousness, I've considered joining the local chapter of Overeaters Anonymous, but I don't like the "Anonymous" bit. As my regular readers know, I have no trouble sharing...well, just about everything, really. Why go to covert meetings under cover of darkness, when I can just blog about it?My specific problem is that I'm a binge eater. And we're not just talking about the It's my time of month and I'll eat seven chocolate bars in one sitting if I want to - you got a problem with that?! Well? Do ya?? sort of problem. Nope, it's a wee bit more complicated than that.I've slowly gotten to the point where I'm willing to talk about it. First I admitted it to Neil, my mom, and some close gal pals. The more I shed light on this problem, the more it starts to dissipate. Awareness seems to be the only cure, because I sure can't talk myself out of it alone and in hiding. We're talking serious denial here. Barely looking at the
