It's Friday Night Ghost Hunter Theater.
With the advent of surveillance cameras, ghost hunters armed with thermal imaging cameras, and the occasional "Average Joe" who happens to find an unexpected "visitor" pop up in a video, more and more people are claiming they have captured the image of a ghost.
We've chosen some videos that seem to be the real thing. Are these actual videos and thermal images of the paranormal? You be the judge.

This Friday night, May 9 from 6:30 til 8:30 pm, I'll be at Custom Art Framing and Gallery Nine's spring art show, "Start" as a contributing artist! I'll also be bringing lots of books in case you are in the market for a signed copy! :) I'll might even try to dress up a little, if you promise you will try to make it. ;)Among the other artists whose work will be on display (and who will also be there) are artist/teacher and Gallery Nine director Kimberly Morin Weineck as well as jewelry artist extraordinaire and also my sister Nancy MacCallum of Nancy Rosetta jewelry. I am a lucky owner of work from both of these lovely lady artists and (well, obviously...) I am a fan of them as well.Nancy will be doing a demo or speaking as well, so that will be really inspiring no doubt! Both of their blogs

Late on Friday nights, during my old drinking days, you would usually find me in a pub with a whole lot of other hardened drinkers. We would swap stories and tell jokes, take the mickey out of one another, and generally have loud conversations that annoyed the rest of the people in the bar. The drunker we got, the louder we became. The more whiskies that we drank, the less our brains would operate. I think I enjoyed myself at the time, but I was usually too drunk to know.Isaiah 8:9 Raise the war cry, you nations, and be shattered! Listen, all you distant lands. It seemed like a typical day at work. The usual emails, phone calls, and generic paper battles back and forth between departments. Around 1145 I decided to break for lunch, and went down to the coffee room to get my food out of the fridge and grab a coke from the machine. I got back to my desk, popped a CD into the computer and started played some Van Halen.About quarter after twelve the phone rang – it was my wife, Jasmine calling. Her breathing was a little ragged, and she said “Hi honey – enjoying your lunch? I went shopping today. Know what I bought? Listen to this…” I then heard a low pitched buzzing sound, and it took me a second or two to realize what it was. She obviously had bought a vibrator, and from the sounds of it was giving it a test run. We had talked about buying
Superlative sports movie about a smalltown high school (American) football team from Odessa, Texas. The Permian Panthers are the focus of the whole town. Alumni and former players follow the team with gurt intensity, expecting them to have a perfect season and win the state championship. 20,000 watch their home games, played on Friday night under the floodlights. The head coach, Gary Gaines (Billy Bob Thornton), is paid a $60,000 salary - higher than the school principal. The quarterback Mike Winchell (Lucas Black) is not the star of the team. He learns his playbook with the help of his crazy mother. Football is his best chance of going to college. The team's hopes rest upon running-back Boobie Miles (Derek Luke), destined for greatness, a stellar college career, and the NFL. The full-back, Don Billingsley (Garrett Hedlund), whose main job on the team is to block for Boobie, is overshadowed by his intimidating and violent father, Charles (Tim McGraw), who has done nothing with his lif

So my girlfriend and I decided to have a night on the town at a straight bar. You know, see how the other side was hanging. Not like I haven’t been to a straight bar before, sheeesh I was married to a man for years, no gold star glory here. But it has been some time since we decided to venture into the land of frat boys with cheesy pick-up lines and hard-ons for girls that make-out with other girls, and slutty wanna-be lesbian bimbos. The night started out innocently enough as we met two of our favorite girlfriends for drinks. We talked, we drank, we talked some more, we drank some more… we got drunk and smoked outside where we met that guy that wants to know everything about being a lesbian because he’s sure that he can be superboy lover if only he knew that secret ingredient that all lesbians seem to be told at their lesbian inception. We humored him and tried to describe where he could potentially find the g-spot and other novelty areas, which he seemed thoroughly intrigued b

“I am just like some interlude?” she says pitifully to Noah, whose favorite pastime is probably listening to R. Kelly while watching a Roman Polanski film.
Well hell, I say to myself, you mean sort of how Saracen was like “just some interlude” when you callously dumped him for the Swede?
Unbelievable.
I dislike people who make poor decisions with relish then go about the world feeling sorry for themselves when consequences come back to bite them in the

Sandie - #6 FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
What is there not to love about Friday Night Lights? The writing is perfect, the acting flawless, and the whole production just draws you in to the show. There are very few TV shows that touch people the way Friday Night Lights touched me. Believe me when I say that everything about Friday Night Lights is worth watching. It captures the soul of a town governed by football, but at the same time is able to take the focus away from football and onto the people living there and how this obsession affects their lives. Everything feels so true, it’s hard not feel compelled to keep watching and watching. In addition, we see characters evolve throughout the seasons, which, when you add it all up, makes it one of the best TV shows to hit Television.
Cast: Connie Britton, Kyle Chandler, Gaius Charles, Zach Gilford, Minka Kelly, Taylor Kitsch, Adrianne Palicki, Jesse Plemons, Scott Porter, and Aimee Teegarden
Plot: The lives of people living in the town
(I wanted to take this time to introduce one of our writers, Araya, who will be in charge of the “Friday Night Lights” recaps. I hope you enjoy his writing as much as I do.)
Okay, now I get it, ladies. This is what you feel when you watch Oprah.
Tell me if this sounds about right. First, as the episode progressed, I got this strange aching sensation in my chest, then I started thinking to myself: “if my eyes got watery right now, that would be okay”, and before I knew it, I was thinking about which is the better brand: Kotex or Stayfree.
Damn it to hell, is this what it’s like to feel things? I hadn’t felt a thing since Maradona (the Michael Jordan of Soccer) was cruelly kicked out the 1990 World Cup for performance enhancing drugs, or cocaine, or both – can’t remember – and I have had suicides in my family.
Maybe the plastic food containers at home are filling my blood with estrogen, but I was genuinely moved, no, fucking transported, by the latest episod
Country music lost one of its legends earlier this week when the great Hank Thompson passed away. Hank was still on the road until recently and he really seemed to love life. This is an appearance that he made in the early sixties on what appears to be the old Jimmy Dean television show. Hank was 82 years old.
This is a fairly recent picture of Hank:
Friday Night Lights is an American television serial drama adapted by Peter Berg, Brian Grazer and David Nevins from a book of the same name. The series details events surrounding the Dillon Panthers, a high school football team based in fictional Dillon, Texas. It was initially received an order of 12 episodes and began airing on October 3, 2006 at 8:00pm on NBCStoryFriday Night Lights is the story of the Dillon Panthers, their Coach Eric Taylor and the fictional city of Dillon, TX, a town that lives and dies with every game their Panthers play. It is not a “sports show” in that the individual episodes tend to revolve around the personal lives of the Coach and his players and not around the actual playing of football. Upcoming games are treated more like ever present specters in the background, influencing events while not being the focus of them. MOONLIGHT “B.C.” - 9pm CBS
Moonlight makes Friday nights so much better than they already are. [Spoiler if you haven’t seen
It’s been a while since I last I wrote a blog. The weekend was a blast. It was full of interesting adventures. Sa and I were waiting forever for the rest of the people to get up to Orlando. We went out to Ming Garden, right on International Drive. We got Peking duck, which was absolutely delicious. The chef came right out into the dining room and cut the duck in front of us. We had tons of food. We checked in with the people meeting us when we left the restaurant, only to find out that they were still 2 hours away.
SAW 4 was just released on Friday and we needed to see it. The theater ended up having an IMAX theater, and I couldn’t refuse. I had seen Harry Potter with the international students over the summer in the IMAX and the movie was amazing. It wasn’t too scary, but really good. Someone always has a mission.
Sa, John, and I spent the night walking around the resort and relaxing. Sa went in the hot tub and I was going to go too, but I think I passed out.
Well we have seen a huge increase in people viewing consumer-generated content. Turns out my DVR didn’t record The Next Great American Band last week, so I have no idea if it was good or bad. I’ll try to make sure this doesn’t happen this week. Plus Top 12 performance might actually be fun to watch.
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS “Backfire” - 9pm NBC

GHOST WHISPERER “No Safe Place” - 8pm CBS
I can’t help it, I really like Ghost Whisperer, it’s just a nice show to watch on the week-end. I can just sit and relax.
THE NEXT GREAT AMERICAN BAND “Auditions” - 8pm FOX
I have been looking forward to this reality show for a while. I’m not sure what to expect from it, because it is from the American Idol team, but the band concept might just not work. Either way I’m going to watch it. Plus John Rzeznik from The Goo Goo Dolls is one of the judges, that pretty much sealed the deal for me. I love The Goo Goo Dolls.

GHOST WHISPERER “Haunted Hero” - 8pm CBS
Melinda is back and helping a new ghost tonight. I recently found out that one of my friend likes Ghost Whisperer too, which was a big surprise because he is not the type of person I would imagine watching the Ghost Whisperer. But apparently, in his words: “Ghost Whisperer is awesome.” I rest my case…
DOG WHISPERER - 8pm National Geographic
I am seriously running out of things to say about this TV show. Unlike series, every week is pretty much the same, except it’s with different dogs, and every week I am amazed at Cesar Millan’s skills.
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS “Bad Ideas” - 9pm NBC
Last week was in one word: WOW! There are no other words to describe it. One of the best TV shows on TV right now. One of my friends even emailed me after he watched the second season premiere, this is what he had to say: “Okay, I watched the season premiere - definitely one of my top ten shows. Hands do
The Barefoot Contessa with Ina GartenIt's Friday Night AgainButtermilk Mashed PotatoesChicken PiccataHerb-Roasted OnionsApple and Pear CrispTo get the recipes:Click hereIna loves to make roast chicken for Jeffrey when he comes home on Friday nights after a long week of work. Lately, she says, she's been trying other chicken recipes, just to mix it up a bit. Today, she's making chicken wiith a twist "with every man's favorite vegetable - mashed potatoes." And she's making a fruit crisp, which she finds much easier than a pie.She peels 2 lbs. of fuji apples and 2 lbs. of Bosc pears. Wow, that is A LOT of fruit. She cuts everything into big chunks because she want to be able to really taste the fruit. Ina adds orange zest and some fresh orange juice to the fruit, reminding us to always to zest the orange BEFORE cutting. That sounds obvious, but who among us hasn't done that? We forget we need the zest and have to grate the rind of a sticky and slippery used orange half. She also add
Last night was the first time in a long time that I felt energetic and hopeful for the future. Why? Because the Palinode has finally received word that he is on a list to have surgery to correct his broken back sometime within the next two months. Between my cancer, subsequent hysterectomy, and now the Palinode's back, it is such a relief to be looking at what will hopefully be the final leg
What a night! We had so many guitars here, I kept looking around for Ed Newkirk or Chaz Glass. (When Ed and Chaz played here, they brought a lot of guitars. It was like a Martin guitar family reunion.) Alyssa, Rena, Eddie, Dex, Don and my guitars were all here. We also had a fiddle, and several young people borrowed Eddies guitar for a few numbers.
I managed to get most of the night on video, so I'll be posting highlights. We had several people watching our live streaming video, hope it looked and sounded OK. We're still working out the details of using the webcam.
Here's Eddie. Eddie hosts a song circle, and he's moving it to Rockhoppers Tuesday nights. Watch for more on that, and we'll stream that video too.
Dex is becoming an open mic regular -- and we're glad to have him.
We convinced James to play a song or two. This is the one I got on video.

Love Poems, a great way to express your feeling whenever you feel so splendid beautiful feeling at falling in love, heartbroken, disappointed, or at any time you just want to say I LOVE YOU to someone you love in an amazing-different way.
That is, when you're old, boring, and married. I found the dress at Goodwill that day, and the flats had come in the mail from Urban Outfitters (clearance!) when I got home. Voila! Comfy, cool, feminine outfit.
So . . . I've been out of contact with modern civilization for almost exactly a week. Last Saturday, we left for a cozy retreat at what were had been told was a summer cottage, accessible to the waterfront and more charm than you can shake a stick at, with all of the conveniences of home. Which was true, if by "home" you mean 1930s Poland. No internet. There was television, but no sound. There was some radio, but even that was hit-or-miss. The most accurate news I got was half of a day-old Tribune on Wednesday.
I missed the trade deadline. I missed the Cubs ascending to first place. I just heard - on the drive back today - that Kerry Wood was in the bullpen.
Now, I could go online and read a recap of everything that's happened in the last week. But you and I both know I'm far too lazy for that.
So, once again, I'm taking the easy way out and I'm asking for one-paragraph summaries of what you think I need to know that I've missed in the last week. How'd they play, who'd they
I admit I’m a late comer to this show but the episodes I have seen so far have been better than most of what debuted this past fall season. Friday Night Lights had low ratings in its first season but the critics adored it. Earlier this month the Emmy nominations were announced and not one nomination came its way. NBC did score a best dramatic series nod with Heroes, but come on. I do enjoy Heroes but I mean it’s really not deserving of a nomination unless it’s based on its ratings and buzz. And that’s not what it’s based on right? Right? Anyways, despite the low ratings, it has survived to live another day. Season two is on its way this coming fall, season one is coming out on DVD on August 28th and there’s a soundtrack available. Catch up and watch the damn show so it can survive for a third season but in the meantime enjoy some songs that were featured during season one. Go Panthers!

Whoa. No wonder you guys all want Griffey. If I had known he could do the $6 Million Dollar Man thing, I'd have been all for getting him, too. Do you think that weird music plays and he switches to slo-mo when he does stuff like that? So today there is good new and bad news. The bad news is that Jason Marquis has become a complete liablity in the starting roation, as he proved again last night. Since July 1, OGDJM is averaging 5 ER per game. Per game, people. If I'm Hendry, I start looking around for another starting pitcher toute de suite. And I'm not talking about one from Iowa. Or the bullpen.
The good news is that, depsite blowing a chance to pick up a game last night, we're still only 2 games back of taking over the division, and Milwaukee seems like they are starting to lose steam. Rich Hill, who has been much improved his last two times out, will take the mound against Bronson Arroyo.
(sarcasm)Oooooohh, isn't he dreamy girls? And he's a singer. Wow. In fact, let's see
Two new recurring additions to FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS this second season:
Glenn Morshower (you might remember him as Aaron Pierce on 24) will be playing Chad Clarke, Landry Clarke’s (Jesse Plemons) father and local cop. Chad Clarke is also a former state champion Panther. I wonder if he is disappointed that his son, Landry, didn’t follow in his footsteps…
I really liked Glenn Morshower on 24, so I’m thinking having him in one of my favorite shows can only be a good thing.
Daniella Alonso (One Tree Hill) will play Carlotta, an in-home nurse who will help taking care of Matt Saracen’s (Zach Gilford) grandmother (who has Alzheimer’s). Could this mean trouble in paradise between Matt and Julie?
To be honest I wasn’t a big fan of Daniella Alonso when she was on One Tree Hill. Not sure how her addition in Friday Night Lights is going to work for me. We’ll see, I’ll try to keep an open mind.

20.07.07 - SPRINGFIELD, MO Holden Productions brings nationally televised world class professional boxing back to Springfield on Friday, August 10th when heavyweight contenders Rob Calloway and Terry Smith collide in a 10 round match-up at the Springfield Expo Center. The event marks the first televised show in Spingfield since the April 7th Showtime event headlined by the late former world champion Diego Corrales, who lost a decision to Joshua Clottey. Some people have commented on how the blog posts I create here are too long. Perhaps that’s what cost me a perfect 10/10 rating for my Bloggy Award. So in light of that criticism, allow me to post a quick story about what life is like these days with the schedule I now have to live by.
Perhaps this is what it used to be like at a Friday night party for me, but not any more…
It is important to remember for the following conversation that I work Wednesday - Sunday. And this following conversation happened today, a Friday.
Tim (other sous chef): So, Matt, any big plans for tonight?
Me: Ummm, I plan on going to bed early so I can be here tomorrow morning to open the restaurant, Tim.
Tim: Oh, yeah.
That pretty much sums up what happens to your social life in the cheffing world. Especially those of us how have the morning shift. Nighttime parties are a thing of the past, and with my weekends devoured by work, I look at Fridays in pretty much the same light that the rest
The whole cubbiefamily clan is about to leave for a relaxing week at the lake cabin in the beautiful wilds of Northern Minnesota. Yah--you betchah.
While I plan to spend most of the time golfing, fishing, or floating in the lake with a book, I'll have internet access and will be able to keep an eye on you guys, so put the TP and eggs down (Faith, I'm looking at you). I might even pop in on a game thread or two, depending on the weather. While I'm gone, thisyear, Oz, and Carl will be filling in on the game threads. Play nice and don't run with scissors. In my absence, gravedigger will be the only one with administrative privileges. Tick him off and you will feel his wrath (he has my permission to ban at will).
It's always nice to head out on vacation on a high note, and we certainly got that from our Cubbies today. Everyone keep their fingers crossed that we get to see the chili lights this week.
I'ma bounce. Later.
