The Sigmund Freud University in Vienna claims to be the first university in the world to offer a psychotherapy degree, reports the International Herald Tribute (4 June 2008).Alfred Pritz founder of the university says: "We're the first university worldwide to offer a complete psychotherapy degree, which Freud wrote about in 1928 as his great dream. According with The Art Newspaper and based on close sources, Roman Abramovich is the buyer of two paintings that were recently sold.The Triptych (1976) from Francis Bacon auctioned at Sotheby's, sold for $86.3 million and Lucien Freud's Benefits Supervisor Sleeping (1995), sold at Christie's for $33.6 million.

I am coming out of week one of Potty Boot Camp. This would be with Pavarotti, my middle child. I've done potty before with his older brother, so I should have been prepared. But as with all big changes, like having a newborn, that first week is horrible. Nothing but emotion, adjustment, exhaustion. I'd forgotten about that. There was one thing I could not have known because I'd never done it before. Captain Intensity was an only child when he went through PTBC, and he switched from diapers to puppy pants (his phrase, I have no idea why) with little complication. But Pavarotti, with Captain and the baby? Complication, indeed. The baby is as reasonable a seventeen-month-old as one can expect. Slightly jealous when I hold a friend's baby, but not yet in the terrible twos. Until Potty Day. She cannot get over the potty. Wallerstein's book, The Good Marriage, is revealing, and kind of comforting. I haven't read it in years, but it really helped me understand just how text-book we are. The four relationship models are so familiar. It's worth a read. If you've got one of the success models running, it can be very heartening if the parental picture is at all compromised.I expect the next few days to be a fest of neuroses, but maybe with more understanding and changed behavior on our parts than last time. I think "always improving" might just be as good as it gets. We have already compromised our pre-arrival oaths. Ah, me.We are also "between checks", just to up the ante.
