Notre Dame Freshman Football Uniform Numbers
Freshman early enrollees Trevor Robinson (78) and Sean Cwynar (98) have known the uniform numbers for months. Their classmates got their numerical assignments earlier this month, with Dayne Crist grabbing Brady Quinn's old No. 10 and wide receiver Michael Floyd getting the expectation-laden No. 3. Ethan Johnson and Kyle Rudolph will share Tom Zbikowski's recently vacated No. 9. It's an odd

Unexpected Email from College Freshman Praises FLIPPING BURGERS Advice
Yesterday I received an email from a college student just finishing his freshman year at Dartmouth. I hadn’t heard from Alex Martinian in two years, since the spring of 2006 when he was a high school junior and I met with him in preparation for his applying to college in the fall. The email was so thrilling to me that I asked Alex’s permission to use it for my blog. He graciously s

'Freshman 15' Theory Takes a Pounding
From Forbes: SUNDAY, April 6 (HealthDay News) -- Looks like the infamous "Freshman 15" is more realistically the "Freshman 5." A new study of 36 freshmen at Auburn University in Alabama found an average gain of 1.9 pounds during the first semester of the first year at college and an average gain of 4.8 pounds for the entire year. Men gained an average of 5.4 pounds, and women gained an average of 3.2 pounds. Alabama has the third-highest rate of adult obesity in the country (29.4 percent) and the 11th-highest rate of overweight youth (16.7), according to the latest report from Trust for America's Health. Although the students surveyed gained (or even lost) a wide variety of poundage, some of the kids who got heavier actually switched from a normal, healthy body-mass index (BMI) into the

Freshman Phenoms Teams Struggling As Dance Is Upon Us
O.J Mayo and Michael Beasley are two of the best freshman playing college basketball this season. Both players are averaging over 20 points per contest, and both decided not to go to the elite basketball programs like Duke, North Carolina, Kansas or Indiana. Despite how much game these future NBA All-Stars have, both Mayo and Beasley are having a hard time getting to the big dance next month. They both are seeing that basketball is a team game, and neither of these guys have the supporting cast to carry them into the field of 65. So they have to carry their teams themselves. Beasley looked like his Wildcats had all but wrapped up an at large bid. However they are back on the bubble again after losing four out of the last five games including losses to Nebraska and Texas Tech. USC has won

Gordon sets freshman record as IU rolls, 99-79
Eric Gordon set an Indiana freshman record for a debut with 33 points to lead No. 8 Indiana past Chattanooga 99-79 Monday night in Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers (1-0) trailed 50-46 at halftime before outscoring the Mocs (1-1) by 24 points in the second half. Gordon shot 9 of 15 from the field, including 7 of 11 from behind the three-point arc. The North Central product added six rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block in 35 minutes. More importantly, Gordon shut down Chatanooga’s Kevin Bridgewaters in the second half. “He’s a monster,” Kelvin Sampson said. “Watching him everyday in practice, that’s where he’s made his biggest strides, defensively.” Indiana struggled defensively in the first half as Chattanooga shot 50 percent from the floor and out-rebounded the Hoosiers 14-12. A renewed focus on defense led the Hoosiers to a 10-2 run after the break and they never looked back. Armon Bassett, coming off a mild ankle injury in Satur

      The Top 10 Freshman Goof-ups
The article, The Top 10 Freshman Goof-ups, and How You Can Avoid Making Them has just been brought to my attention by Jena. I love it! I am/ was two of the ten types. It is very true and I saw myself in it. Its short, and funny. I advise everyone to read it, even if they aren’t a freshmen. It might just allow you to laugh at yourself. I was and still am (only slightly) numbers one and two. I guess you guys are going to have to read it to find out which ones they are! Freshmen 101 tip: Not really a tip, more like a command for all Lynn Freshmen at the momment, read it and laugh at yourself! We all need to take a 5 to 10 minute break. Laptop Security As Part of Freshman Orientation?
A new school year has started in the United States, and already there seems to be a deluge of laptop theft stories in the media.  A small number of them are covered in the national media, such as the laptop theft in Arizona that affected students in Iowa:  a former teaching assistant in Iowa had stored Social Security numbers on his laptop, and moved out-of-state.  Then there is the case of the professor’s office that was broken into at Carnegie Mellon University, and two of his five computers were stolen (I’d like to point out that’s a lot of computers in an office).  Students’ Social Security numbers were present in the stolen computers and, as far as I can tell, these were not encrypted.    Then there are the locally covered stories (read: school papers) where student laptops are stolen from classrooms, dorm rooms, student centers, etc.  Normally, I tend to skip the local stories when looking for blogging material.  After all, compute

BEHIND THE GYM - FRESHMAN YEAR
by Mark AshleyIt all started in my freshman year. I was a fairly shy boy, about five feet six inches tall, 105 pounds, slim but firm body, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, and a good 7 inches of hard cock. Most of the girls seemed to be interested in me so I guess I wasn't too bad to look at. In my freshman year of high school, my gym class was my last class of the day.We did the usual things in gym like play baseball, basketball, wrestle, and play volleyball. I never noticed that I had more meat between my legs and a lot more hair there than most of the other guys in my gym class. But obviously the other guys in my gym class noticed, because one day one of the guys walked up to me and told me that I must be real proud of the big cock that I had. He wanted to know if I jacked off a lot to get it that big, and if it felt good when I shot my load? I was so shocked that I didn't know how to answer so I blushed, ran back to my locker and dressed as fast as I could. Al

This filly does everything right and is sensible and forward. Here's your chance to have a nice tough race mare from an up and coming regional sire. The filly does have a flaw in one eye from an old ulcer, but her vision is not affected. All serious offers considered.

2007 All-Pre Pro National True Freshman Football Team (Preseason)
Pre Pro Sports has entered the prediction business again. We figured we've got nothing to lose since this is our first year blogging and nobody saw the results of our predictions last year. This time we're projecting the top freshman for fantasy owners. These guys may have not been the top recruits at their position, but we had to factor in who will get playing time in 2007 and who will have to sit and watch. Here's what we came up with:2007 All-Pre Pro National True Freshman Football Team (Preseason)QB: Jimmy Clausen (pictured left), Notre Dame (he hasn't won the starting job quite yet, but he will...and he could be a 3-year starter for your dynasty league guys if you are smart)RB: Noel Devine, West Virginia (Steve Slaton is obviously the man in Morgantown, but Devine is too good to keep off the field - he'll make an immediate impact.
