Every Thursday, I come up to the area for dinner and then coffee at the Franklin Avenue Starbucks in Nutley. Two doors to the north of the Starbucks is this large green building, which seems to have some kind of bakery on the ground floor. They advertise themselves as the place with "The Best Stuffed Cupcakes" in the world.Today, when I went to Starbucks, I found the building in this condition — with all the windows out, an oil tank dug up and part of the roof torn off. I'm not sure precisely what happened. In one regard, it looks like a renovation. It also looks like it might have caught fire, though there no signs on the outside of the building.I have some feelers out and I'll let you know what's actually going on as soon as I can.

I got paid Tuesday for all my hard work, which was extremely nice because I surely deserved each and every penny. The student teacher was in charge of the class, which equals rest and relaxation for me. I think all classes should be this easy. I actually knew the student teacher because we had a couple of classes together in college. She is a bit more easy going than me as far as student behavior goes. She gets along with those kids very well and likes to joke around with them. She is moving to Tennessee very soon with her hubby.Tuesday was dance day, which was sort of like a half day with the two-hour early release because of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Girls put a lot more effort into looking good that day than the boys.I was able to leave early that day without any problems. I made sure not to volunteer for duty, unlike one poor sub. I even got paid for a full day work but only had to be there for a half day, which was sweet.

I had math at one of the local junior highs. It is the start of a 3-day job. I was lucky today because the kids were all honors and actually behaved extremely well for a sub. They worked hard on their assignment the entire hour and a couple of them finished early. They did ask about their teacher and student teacher, which come with the territory. The weekend has arrived and I am definitely pumped.

ESPN had a chance to shoot some footage of the Anderson Silva, post UFC 77 press interview. Anderson talks about how all of the moves he pulled off during the fight are everyday moves for him, he trains like that all of the time, and it’s just another day in the office for him. If you watch the first few seconds of the video, you’ll see some amazing defensive head movement by Silva. Anderson talked about Rich’s hometown advantage and how it wasn’t much of a concern for him. Some Facts for you to mull over.  Issue 14 in Franklin County is a five-year, 0.9-mill countywide property-tax levy on the Nov. 6 ballot.  The bottom cost line is that passage of this issue will cost the owner of a $100,000 home $27.57 per year, up $8.21 from the current levy. Anderson Silva does it again! As predicted, with 3 minutes and 53 second remaining in the second round, Anderson Silva defeats Rich Franklin again with a TKO from strikes.  Going into the fight, Rich Franklin looked much better than he did during their first match up at UFC 64 Unstoppable.  Toward the end of the fight, Silva was showing his confidence with fancy spinning back fists and kicks, while dancing around the ring.  As the end of the first approached, Rich was once again in trouble.  Anderson began to throw fury of knees and punches, and once again, we were reminded of the speed and skill Silva possesses.  Going into the second, it was obvious that Anderson was going to finish the fight this round.  He smelled blood and was ready to finish. 1 Minute into the fight, Silva began to tee off, throwing a barrage of strikes, bringing Rich Franklin helpless to the ground once again. Rich Franklin’s website currently features some pictures of Rich training for his upcoming UFC 77 fight against Anderson Silva. Rich looks to be in great physical shape. But I don’t know if mentally he’s prepared to take on Anderson.  Their last fight was so devastating that mentally he’s going to have a huge hurdle to get over… and two fights in between isn’t going to build that confidence. In the next week, I’m going to need all of the pre-UFC 77 training videos and pictures out there to prepare for the upcoming UFC 77 Face Off With MMA Movement and UFC Daily. Alright I've put my bet in today. I had been considering a bet on Silva if his odds improved, but the money is still floating his way at most books. Today Bookmaker posted odds of +185 for Rich Franklin.It's just too good of a value for me to pass up. Franklin is a very smart fighter training with an excellent team and he will definitely have an effective game plan ready for this fight. His probability of winning is much better than the 35% chance Bookmaker is listing him at. Adam Franklin spent the 1990s as singer, guitarist and main songwriter for London-based Swervedriver, the genre-breaching Creation Records rock’n’roll band. Certainly the group’s heavy melodies incorporated traces of The Stooges, The Velvet Underground, Husker Du and Sonic Youth, but it never fit conveniently into a singular genre. Although placed into the “shoegaze” category by virtue of association with labelmates My Bloody Valentine and Ride, the band carved their own sonic path.
