Bölünmüş ekranlar ve arşiv görüntüleriyle sinema dilinin sınırlarını zorlayan bir çağdaş zaman “Gönülçelen”i… Film, on beş yaşında çıplak Tracey Berkowitz’in bir otobüsün arkasındaki bir banyo perdesinin altında, kendini köpek sanan kardeşi Sonny’yi aramasıyla başlar.
15-year-old Tracey Berkowitz (Best Actress Oscar-nominee Ellen Page) is riding around a pre-blizzard urban wasteland on the back of a city bus, naked except for the tattered curtain she’s wrapped in, and looking for her missing brother (whom she fears she has hypnotized). Based on screenwriter Maureen Medved’s novel of the same name, THE TRACEY [...]
I have been meaning to write a review for last Saturday’s episode of TORCHWOOD, because not only was it really good, it is the second to last episode of the season, which sort of leads into the finale coming up this Saturday. I will have an early review of the season finale later this week, [...]

Oh my. Torchwood has finally decided to do an origin story. And we finally get to see how Owen, Tosh, Ianto and Jack joined Torchwood.
The episode works in a series of flashbacks. The team (sans Gwen, who overslept) heads out to an abandoned warehouse in the middle of nowhere. Apparently there’s some mucho alien activity happening there.
Once they head inside though, they realize that it’s a trap–someone has left a series of bombs for the team to find instead of an alien. The bombs explode, decimating the building and leaving the members trapped underneath the rubble. Gwen arrives with Rhys (he gave her a ride) to help the rest of the team, but while they’re waiting, their lives before Torchwood flash before their eyes…
We start with Jack, way back in the Vic
Filed under: Torchwood, Episode Reviews, Reality-Free(S02E12) The penultimate episode of the second season delivers in a big way, both setting up the season finale as a major event with huge stakes for Captain Jack as well as delivering some great looks back at what brought each member of Torchwood to the team. Using the framing...
The second to last episode of season 2 of TORCHWOOD, “Fragments” is a must-watch (well actually every episode of Torchwood is a must-watch) because from what I am told it goes into how each of the characters were recruited to work in Torchwood. I always think it’s fascinating when you learn about the past of [...]
Watch new movie trailerThe Tracey Fragments 2008Cast: Ellen Page, Zie Souwand, Slim Twig, Maxwell McCabe-LokosDirector: Bruce McDonaldRelease Date: May 9th, 2008Fifteen-year-old Tracey Berkowitz is naked under a tattered shower curtain at the back of a bus, looking for her little brother Sonny, who thinks he's a dog. Tracey's journey leads her into the dark underbelly of the city, into the emotional cespool of her home, through the brutality of her high school, the clinical cat and mouse games with her shrink and her soaring fantasies of Billy Zero--her boyfriend and rock 'n' roll savior. Her travels also put her in contact with the seedier inhabitants of the city. Like Lance, her would-be savior who ultimately puts her life in jeopardy. Tracey's stories begin to intertwine truth with l

Recording of culture started with messages painted on rocks and caves. Ideas behind pictures held on and on. People gathered around the place to experience the message. Years passed and visitors changed and the message transformed into something else, maybe it was lost.
Millenia passed, and the message did become easier to transport. All sort [...]

On the heels of the season-ending injury to Patrice Bergeron, a Philadelphia Flyers’ player has once again laid an illegal hit on a member of the Boston Bruins.
There was at least some valid defense of the Randy Jones check from behind on Bergeron. But this recent incident, in which Scott Hartnell drove the head of Andrew Alberts into the boards, together with the Steve Downie and Jesse Boulerice gutlessness, adds up to some habitual nastiness that deserves punishment. No longer can it be brushed off as incidental and unintentional.
And more importantly, it is becoming difficult to say that this reckless style of play doesn’t represent a pattern. It’s still hard to argue (and even harder to prove) that there is a specific Flyers’ strategy to cheap shot opposing players and intentionally injure them. But it does appear that a lack of control and respect for opponents exist
This powerful Oscar-nominated documentary from director James Longley is a depiction of stories of modern-day Iraqis as they try to cope with the war, with life without Saddam, without law and order, occupation, violence and division of country into sectarian regions. Finally a documentary that talks about Iraqis and their suffering, unlike many documentaries recently that focused on U.S. troops and U.S. government (which is fine). The most heartbreaking part of the movie is interviews with children. One of them is 11-year old Suni boy from Baghdad, who lost his father because he was imprisoned for speaking outloud badly about Saddam. His story is in the first third of the movie. The next two parts are about Shia Muslims in Southern Iraq, particularly followers of Moqtada al-Sadr, and a Kurdish family in Northern Iraq.
The movie is very visual. There’s no narration. I loved the long close-ups of faces: you can tell so much about people’s life and feelings and what they hav
I sorted through endless stacks of my grandparents photographs and made piles for each family member.Though we intend to keep their house and continue to use it as a family gathering place, we removed what we knew we wanted to protect from theft or vandalization while the house stands empty. In addition to pictures of family members, their photo collection contained hundreds of pictures of places, endless scenes without accompanying stories. They loved traveling and my grandfather was an avid photographer.Where and when were my grandparent's scenery pictures taken? What was their significance?I stared at photo after photo wondering.I found three striking pictures of a trip to England with only place names written on the backs. What is the story of this photograph? I noticed that MSN was indexing URL fragments. A URL fragment is the part of a URL that comes after a pound sign like this:
http://example.com/page#section
Here is a screenshot.
(Sorry, I had to block out part of the URL.)
Google removes the fragments from URLs.
What will the effect be of indexing anchors as separate URLs? Single pages with multiple URLs? Is it just a temporary MSN SERPs bug like this one?

Today was Julia’s last Kindermusik class for this session and I wanted to do something special to celebrate our last hurrah with this particular group of people. Julia suggested cupcakes, which she naturally would because that is my standard “something special” that I do. Cupcakes. That’s it. It’s the highest form of praise you can get from me, because I can do cupcakes. And that’s about all I can do.
So, it was decided that cupcakes would be made for today. Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes. Because they’re fun and special and guaranteed to impress the 4 and under crowd.
I had intended to make them last night, but I ran out of time and energy. And the recipe said they’re best served the day they’re made, so I decided to do it early this morning, which was stupid. Because I am not good in the morning. I am so bad in the morning that any person that has to deal with me when I wake up knows they must follow these rules: 1) Do not
