      Peter Forsberg out until December
Colorado Avalanche Forward Peter Forsberg who turned 35 on Sunday, has been told by his doctors that he will need several months of rehabilitation before he could return to the ice. Which should take him out until Christmas according to sources. Forsberg turned 35 on Sunday. Expressen a Swedish newspaper, has reported that [...]

      Peter Forsberg signs with Colorado
Well, here's a rumor that came out correct. Plenty of teams were inquiring about Forsberg, but Colorado and Philadelphia were frontrunners reportedly. "We're proud to announce to our fans that Peter Forsberg has decided to come back and play with our franchise where he's enjoyed so much success early in his career," said Avalanche Executive Vice President and General Manager Francois Giguere in a statement. "His addition should complement our roster and will bring our team to an even higher competitive level." The Avs will pay what's left of a $5 million per season contract, which is about $1 million. How effective is Forsberg going to be? "Over the last several months, I have worked extremely hard in order for this to be possible. I am looking forward to putting this jersey on again," sa

Naslund influencing Forsberg to sign in Vancouver
Well, there you go. Naslund has told CKNW that he is trying to get Forsberg to play in Vancouver. “I'm doing what I can,” Naslund told CKNW Radio. “I'm sure there is lots of interest in him. We'll see where he ends up. I think his main focus right now is trying to get healthy with his foot and after that he'll make a decision.” Don't let this get your hopes up too high. We don't know if Forsberg will play this season. We also don't know what Vancouver would offer him for a contract and how much more the other teams will bring forward. All I know is that Naslund and Forsberg would play well together and that would translate into success for Vancouver. Imagine throwing the Sedins and Pyatt out there, and then following that up with Naslund, Forsberg and Cooke. Gad, gives me the chills just thinking about it! T Tags: Canucks Forsberg Naslund

Seems most Canucks fans would welcome Forsberg to Vancouver
I wasn't expecting the results to be so one-sided. But even when I talked to Canucks fans down south on my vacation acquiring Forsberg was met with 100% approval. I am in the same boat. As risky as it would be with all of Forsberg's ailments, the time for the Canucks to push for the Cup is RIGHT NOW. We know Forsberg and Naslund can play well together, so that eliminates the drawn out search for someone who can click with Naslund and the possible failure of chemistry (see Smolinski). In the meantime we wait. Forsberg has not made it known if he will even play next season after undergoing ankle surgery. So there are too many what-if's attached to this possibilty to even put too much stock into it. Rumor also has it that Detroit and Colorado are front-runners in the Forsberg sweepstakes. But that is rumor only.T Tags: Forsberg Naslund Canucks

Peter Forsberg Has Himself A Horse
It seems like every talented racehorse is owned by a sophisticated southern gentleman, a rich businessman, a wealthy Middle East prince, or a lovable group of old high school friends pooling their money together for one shot at glory. Peter Forsberg is doing his best to add hockey players to that list. Forsberg is lucky the owner of Adrian Chip, a 3 year-old colt who finished 2nd in Saturday’s $1.5 million Hambletonian at the Meadowlands. Forsberg originally bought the horse from a German trainer it quickly became a star when he moved it to Sweden. Now he’s brought the horse back to America to race in some more high profile races. While Adrian Chip wasn’t able to win the Hambletonian, he also didn’t have to leave with an injury, and in Forsberg’s book that counts as a success.

How bad could it be if Nonis signed Forsberg?
The stories of Naslund and Forsberg wanting to play together have been going on for years, as they grew up together in Ornskoldsvik Sweden. Naslund is only 10 days older than Foppa. The 2 played well together for Modo and various world championships ever since. Nonis tried different centers for Naslund all of last season, even putting him with the Twins. The Smolinski experiment failed. Naslund no longer clicks well with Morrison. So would it be worth the risk of signing Forsberg to a 1-year deal, as Naslund has one year left on his contract and may retire afterwards? Are Forsberg's injury problems enough to scare Nonis and every other GM away? I am torn on the matter. We are stuck with Naslund until next summer. He has not put up the same numbers since Bertuzzi left. You know for a fact that the 2 would click well together.Rumor has it that Forsberg won't be available until 2 months into the season. So? The Canucks could be competitive in his absence even with the current roster.I kn

      Forsberg back to scoring
It seems as though Peter Forsberg's knack for putting up points has finally returned. He had 3 assists in the Predator's 6-3 whooping of Los Angeles this afternoon. Before today's game, Forsberg only had 1 goal and 2 assists in his first 5 games with Nashville. 3 points today gives him 6 points in 6 games. Amazing how one great game can alter stats and perception. Prior to checking NHL.com's boxscore of the Kings/Preds game, I was thinking about posting another Forsberg futility photoshop, comparing his points total to Scottie Upshall's stats. Scrap that idea.Looks like Peter the Great is finding his touch in Nashville...oh great.By the way, Upshall now has 4 points in 6 games with the Flyers, including 1 game winner.Despite Forsberg's offesive drought, the Predators were still 5-1 since acquiring him.

Where oh where is Forsberg going?!
Forsberg...has been the topic of trade rumors recently...and now I see why. I am not going to lie I had never seen him play. But, tonight I watched as he and the last place Flyers took on the Detroit Red Wings...and was quite impressed. Now, I could make excuses saying the reason why Detroit lost was because MacDonald was in net but I'm not going to. The Flyers deserved to win that game. The Flyers had a two power play goals...which I think is amazing. I am thoroughly impressed with the Flyers. It seemed to me in this game at least that the NHL's worst team had some great plays that I saw develop wonderfully. And, that was just from me sitting on the couch watching it on tv I couldn't imagine being there. The game was full of hits...well maybe not full of them but they were definitely quite a few hard hits. I was amazed. My mom said at the start of the game well I think Detroit is going to just beat up on the Flyers and to be honest that's what I expected as well. The

      Upshall > Forsberg??
Well if you'd have to go by the first 2 games that these guys played in you would probably think so. Upshall in his first 2 games with Philadelphia has 3 points (2 goals and 1 assist) and Mr. Peter Forsberg has well a goose egg. Alright, I watched the Philadelphia vs Boston game tonight on Versus and it was quite entertaining...this rivalry certainly is still going strong today. Everyone

      Forsberg vs. The Red Wings
So, Forsberg finally got his first point...well actually his first TWO points...yeah that's right Mr. Forsberg had an assist...and the GAME WINNING goal in over time. I only got to watch the 3rd period and over time and the occasional flip between channels to see what was going on. The first time I did my random flip I saw Chelios elbow Tootoo...and Mr. Tootoo for sure didn't forget about that
