      No systems, no formulas
As a coach, I find myself tempted to put my work into some sort of "system" or "formula." That's what everyone wants, right? I called my public speaking e-course a "7-week shortcut," which sounds a little "system-like" although there's no system involved; just good old-fashioned exercises and activities to help you figure out your individual strengths and challenges without a coach by your side -- that's the shortcut. The problem with a formula is that it can't possibly work for everyone. People want something quick and easy to help them solve their problems, become better at something, lose 50 pounds or make a bazillion dollars. But it's only easy when it fits your needs, your abilities, your learning style, and your level of motivation and willingness to take risks. One of my clients is sp

      Creating Formulas in Microsoft Excel
Formula Basics Formulas in Microsoft Excel begin with an equal sign. The equal sign tells Excel that the succeeding characters constitute a formula. If you don't enter the equal sign, Excel will treat your entry as text and the calculation will fail. To show how formulas work, we'll begin with a simple exercise by selecting blank cell A1. Then type =5+5, and press Enter. Excel performs the calculation and produces a result of 10 in cell A1. Notice the formula bar shows the formula you just typed. What appears in the cell is the result; what appears in the formula bar is the underlying value, which is a formula in this case. Excel Order of Calculations When performing calculations in a formula, Excel follows certain rules of precedence: Excel calculates expressions within parentheses first.

In reality, cost of inventory purchases fluctuates from time to time. Let’s explore the common ways of calculating the cost of inventories when purchase price fluctuates from time to time – This is called the Cost Formula of inventories. There are three common Cost Formulas for inventories: -1. FIFO (First-in-first-out)2. Weighted Average3. LIFO (Last-in-last-out)Please take note of the difference between Cost Formulas (FIFO, Weighted Average or LIFO) and the methods of recording inventories in General Ledger (Periodic Meth

How To View Stock Market Formulas Professionally
A famous Wall Street story concerns a young man who was in the early stages of learning to be a professional speculator. He had a problem, so he went for advice to an elderly sage noted for his shrewd investment judgment. The fact was, the young man said, that he had taken on quite an extensive line of stocks, but the market looked high - maybe too high - he thought possibly his position carried with it too many risks, and wondered if he shouldn’t perhaps sell. He was so worried about this, he said, that he couldn’t sleep nights. The old man’s counsel was simple and direct: “Sell,” he said. “Sell back to the sleeping point.” Although there is no doubt that this advice smacks of imprecision, there is a good bit of wisdom in it. We may fairly assume that neither the young man nor his adviser knew for sure which way the market was going, but both were aware that the market was sufficiently shaky to cause legitimate worry. Translated into somewhat

CBSE Papers : Learn the Formulas of Geometry
Like many other science subjects, Geometry has developed to its present form with the help of contributions from many renowned mathematicians who devoted all their life understanding and developing this science. Pythagoras is among the first few names that come to our mind with the mention of this particular subject. Geometry was initially considered a body of practical knowledge relating to lengths, areas, and volumes. But it was in the third century B.C. when geometry was put into an axiomatic form by Euclid, whose treatment set a standard for many centuries to follow. One of the most crucial areas in geometry is the formulas. The geometry formulas allow students to identify and subsequently make functional use of geometrical concepts such as its definitions, postulates, geometrical statements in if-then form and its converses among others. This is why, much of the importance is given to these formulas and if you are intending to master this particular subject, then you should develo

Instead, this program probably operates under what could be called the 95/5 rule: Ninety-five percent of Excel users use a mere 5% of the program’s power. On the other hand, most people know that they could be getting more out of Excel if they could only get a leg up on building formulas and using functions. Unfortunately, this side of Excel appears complex and intimidating to the uninitiated, shrouded as it is in the mysteries of mathematics, finance, and impenetrable spreadsheet jargon. If this sounds like the situation you find yourself in, and if you’re a businessperson who needs to use Excel as an everyday part of your job, you’ve come to the right book.
