Recently Indonesia also banned export of construction sand; we respect the decision and are looking for alternatives. Pak Hassan (indonesian FM) said the only reason (for the ban) is environmental; he assured me it's nothing to do with the extradition treaty and defense negotiations.There have been comments about particular individuals who are in Singapore. But it's not clear to us what these cases are; we don't shield people who committed crimes here, they can always be taken to court.Our objective is to create better economic opportunities to enable people to lead better lives. There will always be problems but they can be managed.So I would not concentrate on pimples and lose sight of the entire face.
More updates about El-Attar espionage case First the Canadian Foreign minister slammed the claims of El-Attar that the later was tortured by the Egyptian Intelligence in order to confess or say what they want. In fact McCkay ,the foreign minister said that Canada received assurances from Cairo that El-Attar wasn't touched in anyway. Already it turned out that they had a connect with him before the trail , not like what his lawyer requested from meeting the Canadian Ambassador !!! Why did he request this if already his client met with the officials before the trials directly ??? You know the statements of the Canadian Foreign Minister gives another evidence that El-Attar wasn't torture and that he is "a big slim liar" , my first proof is that he didn't confess directly according to the national security report , he confessed after a whole 3 days from his arrest ,I don't think that a person will take all that time to stand against torture at least the way El-Attar described
